🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction?

I've heard that other people did this, but as a kid (like 7-8?) I had trouble sleeping and so I would imagine scenarios in my head to help me fall asleep. Sometimes they were original little stories but other times it was planning fanfic in my head (LOL). I did this for a few years before I decided to actually type those scenarios out. I still imagine things to help myself sleep (nothing has changed)

🍇How many fandoms have you written in?

Published? Only 3 (Naruto, ACOTAR, Love and Deepspace). But there are a couple others that I just have never posted or just deleted

🍈How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

My whole life, basically, but I only started publishing seriously about 4 years ago. I've posted a few other times throughout my life but would end up deleting them or even the whole account (I used to be on fanfiction.net, no you won't be able to find any of the old fics)

🍎Do you read or write more fanfiction?

Honestly, probably writing. I have some VERY talented friends within ACOTAR, and I also will immediately scour AO3 for fics after finishing a book or series I like, but based on how much time I spend, I probably spend way more time writing. I put a lot of pressure on myself to write, for a variety of reasons I won't bore anyone with lol.

🍌What is one way you've improved as a writer?

I've been writing my whole life practically so this is tough lol. But let's say compared to when I was in like high school(?), I think I've improved a lot in terms of like zooming out to include more big-picture stuff rather than just the very narrow scope of what is happening between 2 characters at a given moment. Things I would still like to improve on is crafting more intricate plots/worldbuilding, and also HUMOR. I just am not very funny

🍑Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

Sometimes I'm like oh my god, it must be so painful to read any of my stuff because I think I err on the side of way too much detail. Like some things CAN be inferred, and it's better, actually, than pointing out every single microscopic thing. It's just annoying LOL. Also, using metaphors/imagery that don't mean anything. It's too much.

🍉What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

any comment at all is nice. but it makes me really happy to read when people think a characterization or dynamic i chose works well for them. smut is also my favorite thing to write, so if anyone comments about that LOL

🍋What is something you've been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?

ummm i feel pretty comfortable with most things as far as smut and modern settings goes, but i get really intimidated by writing longer stories or anything that's super plot-heavy. as you can guess from above, i really second-guess my ability to create convincing motivations or follow a satisfying plot arc. i'd love to do it, i just psych myself out every time.

🍇What made you choose your username?

i loved miraculous ladybug in high school (still do, i just don't follow it as closely anymore), so my username is from that. "lady luck" in french is "dame de chance" (people sometimes read it as damned chance and i cannot blame them i did this to myself for the lowercase aesthetic)

🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction?

As a teen I was a voracious reader and tried to write my own stuff based on other books I'd read. I also loved ST:TNG and wanted dearly to be in an episode and had lots of the books. I wrote my own ST stories with OC's (gratuitous self inserts), but they never went anywhere. In my late teens I read some Xena fanfic on the internet. But that was it for a great number of years.

At the beginning of 2021 I sat and watched the entirety of the MCU films in chronological order (I'd seen most of them before and was mainly a Thor gal.) I fell down the Stucky rabbithole. Deep. I decided to look up fanfic. AO3 was now a thing! I wrote (a very poor) Stucky fic and here we are, almost 3 years later

🍇How many fandoms have you written in?

As my ST stuff never made it further than my parent's old PC in the days of dial-up, I won't count it.

I've written for MCU, various Chris Evans and Seb Stan Characters and one fic for RWRB. I've been toying with writing a one-off Criminal Minds fic as a gift for a friend.

🍈How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

Three in July since I first published anything on AO3.

🍎Do you read or write more fanfiction?

I try to balance it out. If I have a period of hyperfocus writing I try to then go through a period of reading. I read on both Tumblr and AO3, so try to keep that even as well.

🍌What is one way you've improved as a writer?

Getting betas to pick me up on tense changes, overuse of words and rogue commas. Reading more. Practising. Writing outlines for longer stories so I don't go off-piste.

🍑Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

Getting bored half-way through a long fic, especially if the first few parts haven't had a lot of interaction. Which is why I try to write the whole thing before I start posting.

🍍 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

Engineering courses at MIT and, for a separate fic, Violet wands, including the ways to use them and the differnt types of accessories you can use with them. I even watched a Youtube video.

🍉What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

Any comment! Anything that gives me the validation I need!

🍐What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?

I wrote a transformation into Tsum-tsum fic that was both cracky and smutty. That's pretty niche.

🥭What is the hardest type of story for you to write?

Action scenes. I loathe them. I'm constantly wondering if they are long enough, and make sense.

🍏What is the easiest type?

Short things that are either PWP or fluffy slices of life.

🍑Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?

Mainly on my elderly laptop on G-Docs, and in every moment I can - normally afterwork before dinner and on Mondays when I don't have work.

🍋What is something you've been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?

There are a few characters and ships I haven't written that I'd like to. And I suppose I'd like to write a proper long, over 100k fic at some point.

🍇 what made you choose your username?

When I made my AO3 account I felt as though that at 40, and only really starting in Fandom in this way, I was late to the party, so that is who I became.

Getting through the checkpoints back to West Berlin is tedious: Eris has to wait in line for nearly forty minutes before presenting his papers. But his hands don’t shake, and he emerges from the Hauptbahnhof as if he is the same man who entered it a week before.

When he reaches his flat, Frau Heller’s door opens. He pastes on a tired smile – such a hard-working young man he is! – and he says dutifully, “Happy New Year, Frau Heller. Did your son come for Christmas?”

“Yes, him and his pretty new girlfriend, the ballerina. Did you know she danced Clara two weeks ago with the Staatsballett? Mäx didn’t even know she danced before then. He’s so busy, you know, so little free time.”

“I’m sure,” Eris murmurs. Mäx is Eris’s age and tragically stupid, even for a lawyer. They met precisely once at a party, and Eris left with Mäx’s then-girlfriend. Good to hear he’s moved on.

Celty Sturluson is a Dullahan from Ireland who came to Japan looking for her stolen head. Her motorcycle is actually a horse in disguise, which she has named Shooter. Similar to Celty, Shooter doesn’t have a head, but still retains the ability to think. Shooter can change into three main forms; a headless horse, a headless horse with a black carriage, and a pitch-black motorbike without headlights. While in Ikebukuro, Shooter mainly sticks to the motorbike in order to fit in with the modern surroundings.
