Calvin Rainwater - Sinners & Saints.

Calvin Rainwater is a talented new artist with a passion for authentic country music.

With a passion for beautiful melodies and vibrant lyrics, he set out to develop a personal and insightful approach to songwriting, creating compelling tracks that strike a chord for their balance of witty lyrics and memorable melodies.

Inspired by iconic performers as diverse as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash or Hank Williams, only to mention a few, Calvin set out to write music that really strikes for the understated simplicity of the arrangements, as well as for the sheer honesty and power of his lyrics;

Calvin’s most recent release is an EP titled “Sinners and Saints”, which is a perfect example of his sonic vision and aesthetics. This production is balanced, direct and forward-thinking, with a sound that feels refreshingly modern, yet organic and natural like a classic from the golden age of the country tradition. In an industry where many musicians seem to follow the same age-old cliches, it is refreshing to come across an artist who uses music as a mean of self-expression, connecting with the audience on a much deeper level, while remaining true to the classic influences that have inspired and informed his vision. The EP features a handful of amazing tracks, including the charming and tuneful title track, as well as the touching “Tonight I Told My Dream Girl Goodbye”, one of my favorite moments on this release, due to the artist’s intimate performance and the stunning arrangement of this composition.
