ABOUT ME
I grew up just a few hundred miles south of my current Santa Cruz home in San Diego, CA—bouncing back and forth between Ocean Beach and Mission Beach, surfing since I was too little to remember. My home life wasn't an easy one and surfing was my escape. Surfing brought me peace in my chaotic world. At 18, I was coming to a split in the road and I had to choose my path, either one like the life I grew up in or a better, healthier life. I choose the positive healthy path and never looked back.
I moved to Santa Cruz in 2012 where I began to take my surfing seriously and surrounded myself with surfers that I could learn and grow from. Aside from surfing, I work as the General Manager at Sawyer Supply here in Santa Cruz. This job is a way for me to express my creativity through the store design and merchandising, and a way to be imbedded into the community. When I’m not at work, or in the water, you’ll find me riding mountain bikes, running through the redwoods, on long road trips to the mountains, and generally getting outside as much as I can. While my sport keeps me so close to the ocean for most months of the year, I do my best to experience other forms of nature to stay true to myself and keep my love for surfing alive. Expanding my passions, and my reach in mother nature, has made me more conscious of environmental issues outside of just the coastal areas, and has connected to me people that have changed my life for the better. Cultivating relationships with professional athletes outside of surfing also keeps me so inspired and motivated.
I have been supporting myself since the age of 12 and this has taught me so much about dedication, drive, and what it takes to be successful—and I ingrain these values into my training, competing, and everyday life. This past year has been a huge one for me in my work and surf career. I feel as though things are finally lining up. I was invited to the Vans Duct Tape and got to travel to Portugal. I am thrilled to say that I was just invited to the DT in conjunction with the US Open of Surfing in Huntington beach, taking place August 1-4 as well. On top of these I will be competing in the WSL longboard tour as well.
I’ve made surfing a lifestyle—competing, training, coaching, and being an ambassador for the sport. Through acts of giving back to the community–helping, coaching, teaching, working–I have found a lot of joy. No matter what I do, I always ensure that I do so in the most modest, humble, kind, genuine, encouraging, and inclusive ways I can.

- Continue my work with photo/videographers to increase exposure in print, online, and social platforms.
- Continue to grow my personal social media following to build a brand affinity with both my surfing and the brands that support me.
- Gain respect in and be a point of inspiration for Women’s Longboarding.
- Continue to always surf for the love of it, the freedom it offers and stay true to myself and the sport.
- Be a positive role model for sportsmanship in the world of competitive longboarding.
- Continue to stand for inclusivity in the sport of surfing.
- Continue to give back to my community though surfing, and to be a leader for youth and women, and ocean awareness.
- Continue to travel, learn, and grow. While always trying to give back.
