this made me realize that I don't consider liking a post to be interacting with it
which is true, if you want to participate you reblog and/or comment
and I don't mean that that's preferable/that you should participate, that that's better; but it is good when you wish to let someone feel seen/communicate your approval. Lurking is also fine, because I wouldn't tell someone that they owe people actions outside that person's safety zone.
That we want an america where corporations or some local authority doesn't get to do that.
There's that mental boundary people get, of 'how often does this really happen/affect me' but frankly: unless the above line is your entire standard, it's too often, and will affect someone.
i feel like the boeing whistleblower case should radicalize more people. a major airline company is producing planes with less and less regard for safety and it's starting to get noticeable. man takes them to court, which would reduce profit at the cost of public safety. he fucking dies the night that boeings legal team asks him to stay an extra day. if nothing happens about this, i hope it gets through to people that america would literally kill you for a few extra cents
not my situation, but any good-to-know for this stuff is good to know. Don't let work own you if you can help it. I know, it's the 'help it', but for someone, this is good information.
Do not fall for the trap (moreso for salary workers), also known as fto (flexible time off)
there's nothing worse than existing and being told that you can be treated accordingly for something a person invented about you. That's a broad topic, broader than this, but this is absolutely an example.
It's probably happened to you. (Stop lying about it. You know what you're doing. They can tell. That nervous hair-fixing you just did? They know you're being vain and manipulative and that you have feelings for someone specific. It's obvious. That compliment? They know you said it because you pity them and fuck you for saying it. That averted glance? That's not because they told you not to look at them with a smile, it's obviously because you're hiding something.)
--Yeah, that BS? That's awful. And now they tell people that you think/did something that you didn't do and that you have to be treated as such. Because "they can tell." And when you say, no, that's not what happened, I didn't say/think that, they say that's obviously a a sign you did.
Like, I know people laugh when it's about the zodiac or that eugenics personality-type test (yes, yes it is for eugenics, it was written to help identify children who would be a 'burden' and demands that it's right when you don't fit it, you shouldn't accept it as valid) but you shouldn't. Projecting your presumptions on someone is terrifying at every level. When it's about skin color or place of origin or who you love, malicious projection is categorized as some of the most frustrating things humans can do. It's racism. It's bigotry.
When it's an individual's body language, suddenly that's "a science", or "a gut feeling", that has no decent material for it, that has been proven to fail, and that a person with no understanding can suddenly apply to you and be taken seriously in a social sense by some. And when you say no, they say, well, you're clearly obviously that thing, that's what someone who is/thinks that would say.
“if somebody becomes panicked when you accuse them of lying theyre obviously not telling the truth” shut up ugly im a survivor who got punished for shit i never did all the time of fucking course im gonna panic when im blamed for something i didnt do
And every time someone is like "but, c'mon, who's allergic to X" I seethe.
This is just one more really good, not inherently obvious, useful to know, thing for those situations.
When I was in the hospital, they gave me a big bracelet that said ALLERGY, but like. I'm allergic to bees. Were they going to prescribe me bees in there.
a good sumerian inexplicably donated five packs of 500 temporary tattoos to the classroom, each pack featuring identical pictures of a different invasive species of bug
william shatner is kind of like a sith lord because he was born with the divine and incredible power of being incredibly cunty yet he only uses it for evil (being annoying on twitter and going to space for no reason) like we know he has astronomical levels of pure cunt coursing through his veins (we’ve all seen kirk)imagine if it was used for good.
In another, better world i know the Shatster is fulfilling his true destiny of being a guest judge on drag race
