hi it’s me again, if you wanna ID one of my old cats (she passed a while ago) you can! I’m pretty sure I know the breed, she was a pretty kitty. she’s the one in the first picture, the other cat is another one of my old cats (alternatively you could always turn your blog into purposeful misidentification /lh)

agh <3 she is stunning, a snowshoe i assume? (also just letting you know i did see and read your last ask, thank you ^^ im trying to limit the asks i respond to now but i appreciate it)

Hello, I hope people are not actually overly mean to you??? What a silly thing to get upset over if they are.

Everybody makes mistakes lol and sometimes that can be thinking something is one cat breed when it is another. But that is no reason for people to be icky?? That sounds odd and maybe a bit mean, but in a grand scheme, who cares, really??? It's such a ridiculous thing to be upset about (For other people. Obviously, you have all the rights to be upset if people are being rude to you), I hope you don't take any comments too seriously.

unfortunately i've gotten quite a few not-so-nice comments and interactions throughout this, but it seems to have mostly stopped at this point. the whole situation just... wasn't exactly great. hopefully it'll blow over soon? anyway, thank you :) i really appreciate it. i'll try not to take it to heart.

Hey, if it helps, I'm the person behind @cat-identifier and sometimes I'm wrong too. I'm not an expert, just an enthusiast, and with just an image or a video to work from, it can be easy to make mistakes. But it's okay! When I do, I just reblog with the correction so people can see what the right identification is. It's not the end of the world and people will still like your blog, promise :)

ah thanks :) it's alright, just been a bit of a situation. things like this happen on tumblr. the main issue was that i'd made lots of prior mistakes that then got brought up due to that one, which wasn't fun, but definitely helped me to see the scale of how wrong i'd been getting things.

Just want to say- you’re human, you’re allowed to make mistakes. You were very kind and open to being corrected, and that’s all anyone could ever ask of you. We can’t all possibly know everything- being open is how we learn :) I’m sorry it turned into what it did, but wonderful job bouncing back, and making this into a fun mistake, instead of a sad one. hey, just wanted to say i wish you the best in your future endeavors! whether they be this blog or not. it's really hard to admit you're wrong sometimes and i really respect you for not responding to corrections of your IDs by just digging your heels in and continuing to spread misinfo. best luck from a fellow cat lover ❤️

Hey. Fellow cat enthusiast here, you should chill. This isn't the end of the world, and it doesn't mean you aren't a capable person. It means you overestimated your knowledge in a topic (which most people do! This is normal when excited about something) and just need to change your understanding of it. It's about growth more than losing trust in and being upset with yourself. Please take care
