one of the things coryn admires most about kaeya is his confidence, but the confidence he shares with coryn alone was different than the one he gives others. the one he gives others was a reassurance, a beacon that others could turn to in times of adversity. when turned on coryn, it’s something softer, like coryn himself is the answer to everything kaeya is and wants out of life itself. it was almost overwhelming at times to think about that, especially when he’d first realized the difference, but he was learning to get used to it.

coryn’s gaze lowers slightly when he mentions earth, knowing that he can’t exactly point out how different earth was to teyvat, having done so many times. instead, it simply reminds him of all of the baggage that he’s still carrying from it, some of which his boyfriend is working so hard to undo.

when kaeya kisses him again, he relaxes, before finally giving a soft sigh as he relaxes entirely against him. “i love you too...” his arms wrap around kaeya’s waist loosely, brown eyes warm as he meets kaeya’s gaze. “...and you’re right, maybe i’ve just been in my own head again. i’m still working on that...”

he leans up, stealing a brief kiss from his boyfriend’s lips. “but if my handsome prince sees something i don’t, then i’ll trust you in that.”

and perhaps, one day, coryn could see how kaeya sees him, and know he fits the image perfectly.

he really shouldn’t be surprised at this point, and yet he still makes a noise when his boyfriend pulls him close. the fact that kaeya doles several kisses onto him? that part’s the least shocking.

the thought had spilled from him, although admittedly it had been in the back of his mind. kaeya seems to think of him as something more than coryn knows he is, so he had thought, but he hadn’t planned to actually voice that. of course, it seems like his mouth and his mind tend to conflict at times, with how often coryn seems to stick his foot in his mouth.

and yet, when kaeya takes his hand, he feels...relief, as if his boyfriend is working to unravel those doubts. he always seemed to be dedicated to setting aside everything coryn had known before teyvat, and this moment is no different.

naturally, coryn’s mind tries to form a protest, only for kaeya to pull him close, a kiss finally silencing the earthling’s stray thoughts. as if that isn’t enough, the knight reminds him once again that he wouldn’t lie to coryn ---- a reminder that coryn has begun to learn is one reserved for him and him alone.

he allows himself to get comfortable against his boyfriend, a hint of pink tracing his features. “of course i trust you...i just...think you think a bit too highly of me sometimes. i’m not that great of a person.” coryn’s tone is hesitant, unsure, if only because the affections had disarmed him so easily. he knows the other man practically dedicates himself to making sure coryn doesn’t see himself negatively, although a part of him still isn’t sure why.

admittedly, coryn was NOT a fan of dragonspine. the cold there was ridiculous, and even bundling up did nothing to alleviate it, but...he was also a sucker for poking his nose in mysteries. and sometimes, mysteries needed a guide who knew the area more than he would.

he offered a wave and a nod, before pulling out his map. “hi! um...you’re EIVOR, right? i was told you, uh, practically knew dragonspine like the back of your hand...”

boy. the rehearsal of the introduction he was planning sounded a lot better than this, and yet now that he was here, he had tossed it out the window. as per usual. he hoped they didn’t give him a hard time over it.
