A woman went viral for being turned down for a next interview for a role, she asks the recruiter what she did wrong, the recruiter tells her they were “concerned about her lack of effort in her appearance.”

She explains she wore a freshly ironed blazer with a collared top. Her nails were painted a professional beige. She got a blowout for her hair, so a professional style. She had on subdued gold earrings.

The only thing she wasn’t wearing was makeup; she states she really doesn’t wear makeup, and only had chapstick on, as her skin is sensitive. Her lawyer mother has already explained she has no legal case against the company for any type of gender-based discrimination.

Just in case anyone wants to ask why feminists still refer to the “pink tax” or rail against more and more elaborate makeup trends being pushed on girls and women.

Women being punished socially for not wearing makeup is still a feminist issue.

Bitching abt inlaws under the cut

We have family dinners where my husbands immediate family and we all get together at one of our homes right? And in January we went from that happening weekly to happening every other week (schedules allowing). This effectively means we see them.... Once a month bc they're always doing something. (And they're usually together for this. All of them and not us 🙃) it's fine. I am in my head about it and convincing myself they hate us and are deliberately excluding us. But it's fine. They get together multiple times a week also. And talk about how fun it was when we see them. And we literally live smack in the middle of the route between their two homes. But it's fine.

Anyway.

We live in a tiny, one-bedroom apartment and they all live in multi-story houses that they own. So a month or so ago, they asked if they could meet at either of their homes instead bc they have a rambunctious toddler. Sure, that makes complete sense! But they keep apologizing for asking to do this. It does mean that when we cook dinner, we haul the ingredients to one of their homes and cook in their kitchen. That's fine, genuinely. It takes a little more effort, but like... There's an actual reason, and it is logical.

They apologized again yesterday, and they're convinced they've done something wrong asking us to do this, so they go on a long spiel about how we can go back to meeting at our apartment and they can just wrangle the toddler better or whatever and like ... Idk how to say this but you obviously don't actually care? Like if you gave a shit about what we actually wanted you would fucking talk to us instead of deciding for us in front of us without listening to what we're saying.

"no it's fine! We can do it!" We say.

"well, why don't we just do it our way instead and then revaluate after" they reply

"....okay sure. Why not." we concede.

#op #i just think maybe you perceive that you feel guilty and you are misattributing it. #or! you do know why you feel guilty but you arent willing to change so instead youre 'fixing' things that dont need fixed. #at someone elses expense bc (again) youre not willing to change your behavior. #it feels like we're being yanked around. i guess. like being demanded that we meet your desires without giving a thought to what we want.
