Sooo, a con accidentally took out $200 for a table today instead of actually taking it out when they said they were going to. So now I am $200 short, and I needed that money to fund a lot more merch and pay bills.

Keyframes VN Update

Hear ye! I've come with updates for Keyframes! This time, I'm shooting over some previews for our CGs!

Currently, we have one artist who's breaking sweat getting these done for our players so be sure to thank @tsyshen for her efforts!

2/7 CGs are already fully rendered, and haha you can probably already guess who these two are.

The rest of the CGs are a work in progress, but we can give you a bit of a hint as to what you can expect in the extended demo with them!

All these papers strewn about must mean you're studying. And jeez-- that monstrous burger sure looks intimidating. But it looks like you're hanging out with a large group of people in these events!

And believe it or not, the rest of the previews I've got to show you are from the same event-- the BBQ party you've played through in the Otome Jam Demo!

We've talked about this a little bit beforehand, but some of the CGs in the extended demo and the game moving forward can change depending on the choices you've made!

Regardless of these changes- there's quite the celebratory mood in each shot, don't you think?

If you haven't heard already, the plan for the CGs in our VN stray a little from convention. In that, not all of them are going to be specially romantic or dramatic, or these full on screen images. Rather some of them are just photos reminiscent of something that you would even find in your own photo gallery.

I can't wait for everyone to see the full photos as well as the subtle changes amongst some of them! I hope it feels as authentic as taking silly pictures with your friends and may everyone make happy memories with our cast!

There are nine days before the Our Life: Now & Forever Kickstarter is launching 😶.  Tamarack and Qiu are ready for it. I hope I am.

But it's a new month and I've made the usual update!

I didn’t think they’d be able to add this with everything else they’re working on but this is so fun!

Our Life Now & Forever: Polyamorous Relationship Feature Announcement!

So, I’ve changed my own mind! You will be able to end up in a relationship with both Qiu and Tamarack if you want to when Our Life: Now & Forever is fully released. I originally didn't guarantee a polyamorous relationship option because I didn’t know for sure if it'd be possible to add it without pushing the game back, however this story would simply feel incomplete without that. It was very obvious when writing the Step 2 preview for the soon-to-release demo update. Qiu, Tamarack, and the MC are as important as a group as they are in individual pairings. It has to be done. Besides, tons of choice and having relationships be whatever makes you most comfortable is why people wait years for GB Patch to finish these games in the first place, haha.

Now, the way the optional poly relationship will work is that Qiu and Tamarack would be in a committed platonic relationship with each other and can be in a committed platonic or romantic relationship with the MC. Qiu and Tamarack won’t be romantically involved with each other regardless of the choices the MC makes.

This relationship dynamic will only be available in Step 4: Adulthood. It won’t be something you can get together during the bulk of the story because Qiu and Tamarack do need time to sort things with each other over the years before taking that kind of step.

Nothing is going to change with our plans so far. Our Life: Now & Forever will have a Kickstarter that's launching less than two weeks. If everything goes well, the goal will be to release the first three Steps and most of the DLCs in late 2025. The Step 4 Epilogue with the poly relationship option and any bonus DLCs that get funded by the Kickstarter would come out later on.

Today a Patreon beta build released for Our Life: Now & Forever that finally completed the Step 1 prologue! That took now and forever, haha. But we did it. And Qiu’s right- change is coming. OL2 will very soon be the main game in development. When that happens, progress is gonna go so much faster ✨.

Our life now and forever stickers

In the character creation section of the game, you have a variety of stickers you can choose from to differentiate your saves with.

I know that this is most likely not the case, but what if some of them related to specific moments/cutouts in the game? (Minus Tamarack’s bag and Qiu’s notebook, as I imagine those could just be used to indicate which character you may be taking more interest in at specific moment?)

In the demo, there’s a cutout of the paper airplane that Tamarack threw at us, and the paper airplane is one of the sticker options. I believe the extended demo also has a moment that relates to one of the stickers.

I’ve basically thought of what kinds of moments a few of the stickers could relate to. (They’re all incredibly obvious but bare with me.)

The pumpkin one excites me the most! I imagine that the characters will be able to go to a pumpkin patch and pick out some pumpkins (and maybe end up carving them). I loved going to pumpkin patches as a kid, and it would be so fun if there was a hayride or a straw maze as well.

The muffin most likely indicates the characters baking together. I wonder if there might be a school bake sale? I imagine the MC would find one of the LI's baking some blueberry muffins and then join in to help.

The tea cup probably indicates the characters having a tea party together (hosted by Tamarack herself). I know that the patreon listed the LI's favorite drinks a long time ago, and I wonder if this is how the MC would find out. (Imagine if you had an MC who attended the tea party for Tamarack's sake but hated tea LOL.)

The heart with the bow is pretty cute, and I wonder if the LI's or the MC would be able to get chocolates for the other. That would be very sweet. I don't know when that would come into play. Imagine them getting them chocolates before a school dance or a date (Step 2 or later).

The music note most definitely belongs to Ms. Tamarack. I imagine the MC may be able to help her practice for a performance and/or attend a concert of hers, or maybe they could go to a concert and watch a performance together?

I know this is just me theorizing and it’s most likely not the case, but it is fun to think about!
