got so fucking passionate talking about the reynolds' family dynamics and dennis and dee's fucked up relationship (primarily shaped by barbara in childhood, continually ruined by frank in adulthood) over voice chat that i lost my voice. i think if i typed any of this out i would be killed. anyway. i will say i think some of you are blinded by your own daddy issues and should look at barbara a lot more than you do.

Finally caving and dropping the IASIP '''genderbend''' sketches I did a few weeks ago (referenced from various screencaps)

Thots and justifications below:

I went back and forth on whether Mac's performative masculinity would translate into the hard opposite direction of performative femininity but I decided the gym rat nature would win out (and also I prefer to draw butches when given a choice). Dresses exactly the same. Gets butcher with time. Early seasons hair is long and mostly kept in a ponytail, which gradually evolves into a shitty slicked back mullet.

Frank presents almost exactly the same because why the hell not? (Maybe more tank tops though. No bra. I feel like she would let her tits hang out). Main difference is that she has the thinning but luscious mane that canonical Frank probably dreams of.

Charlie is Charlie.

The twins dress kind of like their respective twin does in canon, though Dee dresses preppier and Dennis tends to go for more 'elegant' clothing.

Dee is kind of a lithe preppy metrosexual twink. He usually shaves but his sparse beard and mustache comes through when he's having an especially bad time. Still dyes his hair (idk if Dee dying her hair is canon or not but I feel like it's implied once or twice?). Insecure about his stick-like build and narrow shoulders but pretends to embrace it.

Dennis' profound insecurities has this version of Dennis leaning very hard into feminine conventional attractiveness and almost always wearing eyeliner/etc on top of the typical foundation and etc routine. Wears jewelry but has very strong opinions on how much jewelry is 'too tacky'. She keeps her hair long and I feel like she would straighten it a lot of the time but I neglected to actually draw this.
