"So you know you belong with us." That you're one of the family. It's spoken with a 'duh' tone, as though even Cas should know these things. But, and Baby is realizing this now, perhaps it isn't as common an expression of affecion as he believed. "Do...people not do that?"

So maybe it's a little weird, but he assumes it must be a sign of affection-- so Baby grabs the nearest pen and scribbles "B, SW, DW" in a column on Castiel's wrist-- quite similar to the ones carved into his skin.

Blinking in confusion as his arm is grabbed in conjunction with a pen, Castiel simply watches as Baby writes initials on his wrist. When he’s done, the former angel stands there for a moment, still utterly confused. And then he’s speaking, a light pink flush crawling up his neck as he stares at the ink.

"I— I auh— W-what are these for?"
