“A Call to Obey and Remember”

It’s a letter to the Israelites to prepare them for entering the land of Israel that they were promised for the first time. It’s when God gives you something he has promised you and that can be a wide variety of thing. Kids, marriage, relationship, higher paying job, new house, new car. God had a plan for us to have these things but he wants us to not forget he blessed those very things.. he got us through that hard season, he got us through suffering, through loss, through the trials and tribulations.. you may have felt terrified and scared but you got to your Israel (promised land). “Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these 40 years (speaking to Israel) humbling you, testing you to prove your character and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands”

I remember a time where I was dealing with depression, anxiety and even had to be treated for PTSD. I was going to counseling, church and consistently in the gym and God was using those vessels to speak to me and show me good things he had in store for me.. then I suddenly stopped everything and buried myself in my new higher paying job and then into a new relationship.. in essence I turned my back on God, idolized myself, gave him absolutely ZERO credit, relied and gave myself all the credit and never thanked him for getting me out of that pit I was in.. I never thanked him for the incredible family that he blessed me with who would always hold me down, loved me through all my faults and never gave up on me, I never thanked him for a great support system of friends, I never thanked him for the new job which lead to a fruitful career that I have no business of being in, I never thanked him for my previous long term relationship nor did I seek his guidance for all the troubles we had.. At that time, instead of thanking God for making me feel better, I really just got prideful and said “okay cool, ‘I’ got out of this and feel normal again I don’t need help anymore” God never intended us to do anything on our own, we simply couldn’t handle it.. There is a reason he brought Eve to Adam to HELP multiply the Earth..

Your emotions and victories can be very deceiving, they are like a stepping stool to pride to the wrong people (ME) ALWAYS remember to thank God for getting you out of the wilderness, thank him for giving you that blessing you just got. Thank him for his Grace and mostly importantly Thank him for Jesus… Just like God gave the Israelites Manna when they were starving in the wilderness. Jesus gave us food and fruit for our souls/spirit

the words from the ‘mouth of the Lord’ are from the Holy Spirit within us, in which Jesus gave his life for us to obtain…
