I dunno I wanna believe in my own headcanon that the Elder Dragons weren't always these all-consuming forces of nature, but instead were once benevolent and well-meaning forces of Tyria that just succumbed to dragon madness due to the high volume of magic they had to consume in order for Tyria to stay stable, much like that of the dragons of Fire Emblem franchise

#i think this is definitely true #kralkatorrik and jormag in particular are aware of it too i think #kralkatorrik was in a lot of pain from eating so much at the end and asked aurene to end it for him #jormag knew that meeting primordus would kill them both but was powerless not to follow the ley lines right to him anyway #consuming magic became such an intense physiological need for them. like they're starving but all the food is poisoned #they need to eat. their mind and body demand they eat. they can't help themselves even though eating the food will eventually kill them #and they're so huge and powerful and directly linked to the ecosystem of the world and reality itself that they were always going to cause #extreme and horrific damage to everything around them #but they were born as elder dragons. they didn't ascend with experience and understanding of how volatile magic is like aurene #or learn by separating the void out into matter and energy and creating a world to live in #they were completely unprepared to be what they were. just sat down to eat one day and couldn't stop eating anymore

Does anyone ever think about how much Kormir changed from human to goddess. Here is a woman who fiercely loved and was beloved by her people in turn. Here is someone who chafed at inaction and led a rebellion.

Then you look at the goddess. You look at her silence. Her 'benevolent isolation'. You look at her abandoning both her people and the world that birthed her. Even the wizards in their floating tower didn't leave despite their ancient knowledge because they had a job to do and they did it for hundreds of years.

Did the other gods look at the Commander and think they would fail, and that the Six would be eaten?

Did Kormir look at the Commander and see an echo of her old self, and believe they would succeed? Where would be her place in that new world?

Man, that fucks me up.

(in Iaxe's defense... I don't think scourges really get sand in their mouths that often... it's just that Rad can't close his mouth all the way bc he doesn't really have lips anymore 💀) (also tbh he probly shouldn't be doing that - the only reason Rad hasn't died from eating too much sand is cuz he's already dead lol)

Man, I really wish Anet utilized the Jade Bot more and allow us two main functions: a photo mode and decorator mode.

Photo mode with filters for screenshots, and decorator mode for ease of access and better furnishing of the guild halls.

If Anet did customizable player housing, that Jade Bot would be so handy for furnishing and object placements, as well as taking great screenshots.

One can only dream.

#also they introduced jade batteries and the offense and defense protocols and ziplines but didn't put them anywhere but cantha #i hope we'll get to hsve them again in future maps

I ripped another outfit on my boy today, I usually do that in EotN (the one you teleport to via the EotN stone to claim your GW1 rewards). And today, at my character's feet I found this:

And so it happens my character wears this cape at the moment.

My guess is, invisible item can't just be an invisible item per se, it has to be an object to attach the data to, and well, I think this is it :D It's literally a mesh of a cat probably sitting on your back, that is 100% invisible.

Feeling absolutely devastated thinking about sylvari commander and aurene rn. something something they both had to grow up too fast because the safety of the world/reality demanded it something something sylvari commander trying to let aurene have as much of a childhood as possible because they didn't get to have much or any time as a sapling and it breaks their heart that their daughter is a victim of destiny like them
