... cr-vermilion
      he reacts without thought.
instinct overwhelms, and all too suddenly, he finds his teeth bared against mingming’s throat.  courtesy becomes cruelty.  he bites back, hard.  it’s not enough to draw blood, but mingming will have to get creative with excuses.
he releases fairly quickly but his mouth lingers, taunting.
a slow smile grows against the scarred skin.
      –  “why did you do that, mingming?”
mingming feels like a burden, something he wouldn’t admit. he feels annoying every time he once again calls sil. he feels vulnerable, like someone who doesn’t know what happens, lost, he feels lost. he feels like he shouldn’t call sil, like he should handle everything on his own, yet when he calls the other he feels relief. when he calls the other he feels at ease, being vulnerable does something to him, it eases him and his worries for a while. it’s like when his lost he’s the most himself.
it’s not every day he calls sil, but he does it whenever it all becomes too much, whenever he needs to let out emotions. he had called the other again, this time because of a reason that he had called sil for many times, being scared, scared of his life being meaningless. he had yet to tell the other how scared he was, but even if he was scared he wouldn’t cry, he had done that once in front of sil before, and though it felt good, it was scary.
mingming isn’t sure what comes over him, in a second he is feeling vulnerable, in another he is himself yet not himself at all. he bites the other, and as if that shouldn’t be the end of it, the other bites back, and how does mingming respond? he moans. he lets out a moan, his body tenses up and he flexes his abs for a reason, immediately there's a hand over his mouth, his own luckily. what did he just do? how? why?
mingming’s eyes widen when the other asks why? because… why? mingming takes his hand away from his mouth, tries to act relaxed though his heart is obviously beating quite loudly. “ah i mean…” he gulps “wait? why did you do that? why’d you bite me? and why do hard?” mingming rubs the spot as he looks down, his heart only beats faster. he only hopes that the other didn’t hear his moan.
mingming would never admit he has a weak side, that he can be emotional. no, he is just the wild rich kid in most eyes, he smiles, chuckles, and teases, to most they would assume he has never cried, not even as a baby. however it’s wrong, mingming does have a weak side. and it’s very few people who get to see that side of him, but sil ( @cr-vermilion ) ? sil is one of the few people who knows that side of him, and sil is basically one of the only people who knows of that side. mingming isn’t sure it happened, but now, mostly when mingming is sad he comes to sil.
he was sitting there, sighing, head in hands, too many thought troubling him once again, and as he was sitting there, emotional, he feel a sudden hug. mingming doesn’t completely know how to react, he isn’t used to touch (except for when it comes to sex and flirting), so without giving it much thought, he bites the shoulder of the other, not too hardly, but enough for it to be felt. immediately after he looks at sil, what in the world did he just do?

... craureolin
the sound of glasses being shifted on the table is only response mingming gets for a moment. rather typical of the violinist to not verbally respond to something in a reasonable time frame–that is, if he replies at all. but hui has never truly left any of his friends hanging for too long. he is merely too focused on making sure the area in front of him is sitting in what he deems an orderly fashion. the shot glass of soju sitting just a few inches beside his taller glass of cider. the bottle of soju sitting between him and mingming.
his expression doesn’t even give away if he had heard that the other said anything or not, but once hui is content with his placement of everything he raises his head to look at mingming. expression empty, and his tone is the same soft monotone it always is as he replies. “I’m working on a composition for a backtrack to a show.” it’s said like someone might have asked him about the weather, eyes dropping to his shot glass then to finally take a drink. the alcohol is a familiar burn in the back of his throat. it reminds him that he should add something else to his reply and he offers an even quieter. “And you, mingming?”
mingming was surely a great talker, he spoke a lot, but he could also be the type to not speak at all, for mingming, often at time, silence spoke more than a thousand words. mingming didn’t mind the slight silence there was after his question, it let him take some time to study his friend, he gave him the elevator look. how long had they been friends again? mingming didn’t remember. he was pretty, something mingming probably had noticed before but not given much thought. the two of them were two pretty drinking buddies. mingming smiled slightly.
mingming drives a hand through his hair, acting as if he understood what the other said. composition to a backtrack of a show? now, now mingming is the quiet one as he thinks of what the other means, in the end mingming agrees with himself that composition means some type of song, that the other is doing a somewhat song or something. mingming takes a sip of his drink before responding to the other, “life is life, i’ve been doing the usual”, he drives his finger over the glass and then continues. “everything and nothing y’know? ah hm, i don’t know if anything big has happened in my life lately. life can be boring”. mingming rests his head on his hands, he wouldnt like to admit life is boring, not his, because that’s all he works for, his life not being boring, meaningless. “but you’re here to make it not boring, thanks for getting a drink with me” mingming takes a big sip of his drink and then places a hand on the other’s shoulder.
have a little fun
mingming is embarrassing when drunk, he believes this to be a fact. he often gets clingy, confesses his nonexistent crushes for people, and he’s overall just annoying. yet, yet the male keeps drinking, yet he has so many friends that he go out and have drinks with. it’s quite weird if you think too closely into it, but mingming would suggest you don’t to that. to the point, mingming was out with a friend to get a drink (again), he was twirling the soju in his glass, it tasted good yet not good at the same time. mingming mostly enjoyed the taste of alcohol, and he every now and then had a bit of alcohol because of the taste, but mostly he was drinking to get drunk, to escape from reality for a little while.
“so” mingming took a sip and then looked at the other ( @craureolin ), he put his heads in his hand and rested it, “tell me, how has life been to you lately? anything new?” mingming tilted his head. he felt like those questions could get a conversation started, and when the conversation first was started, it would be easy enough, after all, mingming is a good talker.

Eyes narrow dangerously at the accusation flung at him, hands clenching into tight fists. As much as Yejun would have deary loved to put the blame on some servant or other for telling on him to Daehyung, he was willing to bet his very _job _on the fact that this was _not _the case.
It was probably more like a twin’s intuition. When they’d been children, Daehyung was always the first person after Yejun himself to know the younger twin was getting sick. Yejun figured that he really still shouldn’t be surprised at it anymore. And yet, here he was.
“I’m not talking about your usual sick, not the insult kind of sick that I so often call you.”
Gods, it took everything Yejun had _not _to throw the book at Daehyung’s stupid, pompous head. He loved his twin, truly. But the other was being more difficult to deal with by the day. War had changed his brother, and it hurt.
Which was why it was easier to play along with Daehyung’s insults and mockery. If Yejun laughed at them, then it took some of the wind out of Daehyung’s sails. Though being called sick as an insult was painful.
Which was why if Daehyung wanted the truth, he could _work _for it.
Feigning indifference, Yejun picks up his book again and pointly flicks though it, looking at his brother through his eyelashes.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Daehyung-ah. I’ve been feeling fine. It’s like I said at the wedding, my throat has been giving me trouble lately. It’s nothing to worry about.” he lied easily, though he was already preparing himself for the inevitable fit his twin would throw.
His brother was stupid, perhaps dumb, probably not, but he was dumb enough to think that he could trick Daehyung. Yejun can try as much as he wants but Daehyung sees right through him, this coughing hasn’t just been going on in a few days, no it’s much more, Yejun is sick. Yejun is sick and Daehyung wants to prove it.
If Yejun doesn’t want to tell their parents then that’s fine, Daehyung wouldn’t want to tell their parents either if he was in his brother’s situation (but he really just doesn’t want to tell them anything). Yejun doesn’t have to tell a single thing to their parents, but to him? To Daehyung? Couldn’t he even tell his brother that he was sick.
The two aren’t as close as they used to be, that’s obvious, a few years ago then Yejun would’ve probably had told Daehyung if something was wrong, but now? Daehyung’s not sure what has gone wrong, but it must be something and it is most definitely not himself.
The two of them were a match made in hell, how Yejun manages to endure Daehyung (which is a pain in the ass) is unknown to Daehyung, because Daehyung’s rude and he treats his brother like shit, he cares about his brother, he worries and loves his brother, but he treats his brother like shit.
“Your throat has been giving you trouble lately?” is that his brother’s answer? His excuse? “Alright, then let’s go to the doctor and get some medicine for your throat” he grabs his brother by the arm and drags him up fiercely, this coughing has been going on for months, so even if it’s just because ‘his throat it giving him trouble’ then that has been for too long and they should go see a doctor anyway.
“We’re going. Even if I have to drag or carry you”

jiyoung could only keep up the simpering act of a woman for so long. maybe she would have for longer, longer than this conversation if he hadn’t pointed out that she was a girl. they both knew this. in just a second her face almost turned into a sneer. she barely held it back, now settling on an almost blank stare.
( it had to be blank, she couldn’t speak for a moment. she might have wanted to tell him he could impel himself on the arrow for looking down at her. )
“it isn’t it obvious…my lord.” she barely got the last part out, and made sure of putting away her bow and arrow. “as a..girl..” she almost spat the word. “i wouldn’t be able to practice freely with other men and if i stayed at the edge of the forest, i would be found out.” if she had the freedom to it in public, if she had the freedom to show her skill in public she would. but she couldn’t. not in this life time at least.
and the normal jiyoung crept out bit by bit. she made no move to get closer to him but a smirk worked it’s way onto her face. “how would you like me to pay my lord? with money? with my body?” those would be her only options. sleeping with him? it was something she could bring herself to do. paying him, that was another she could do. “those are my only two options my lord. money or pleasure…and if you can’t bring yourself to forgive me with those two items..then i shall simply run away my lord.” she did know the forest like back of her head. “i am truly sorry, but i can’t bring myself to simper anymore.”
He doesn’t like being called lord, he doesn’t like being called his name neither and the reason is simple, he simply just doesn’t like being called anything nor talked to. For some reason she seemed offended by how he said the word girl so harshly, he was simply stating that her gender was something unfamiliar when it came to archery. Her explanation however did make sense, as a girl there can’t be a lot of places you can practice, deep into the forest would probably be one of the better places. He doesn’t want to agree with her, but he does, so he nods his head a little as she speaks, trying to not make it too obvious.
‘how would you like me to pay my lord? with money? with my body?’, is that her only options? This girl really is something.
He chuckles, he knows his answer, but he still doesn’t answer immediately. “Well first of all, I don’t need your money and I don’t want them” he’s quiet for a couple seconds, just to make sure she hears and realizes his words “and the body? The pleasure? You really are stupid, aren’t you? Why would I want your body? If I said yes to that then it would be I who was paying you, I hope you understand that if we did that, then it would be you who got pleasure and not me” he feels a bit offended by her offer, why would he have sex with her? Was she now trying to turn this situation to her own good or something?
He sighs before grabbing her arm in less than a second and pulling her over to himself, “what about this? I challenge you to a game of archery? The winner gets a wish” he says this with confidence, he has the confidence to know he’ll win over her.

honestly. jiyoung opened her mouth only to close it a moment later before the truth spilled out. if she had gotten the chance, there was a high chance she would run away. the morally good thing would’ve been to check on him and notify somebody but she wouldn’t even look and see. because jiyoung didn’t want to be found or because she was simply scared. that’s what she would do.
but she couldn’t tell that truth.
instead she started off answering the first part of his questions. “because it was an honest mistake sir.” it was, that wasn’t a lie. “i promise, i only wanted to practice and i could not stop myself in time. had i known someone was around, i would have found another area.” as for the second part, “and i’m not sure sir. i might have screamed at the sight of blood.” with that jiyoung put on the best simpering lady act she could, along with the downcast eyes and her voice wavering as if she wasn’t worthy to stand in presence.
( and it was very hard thing to do. )
“i can only pay you for the stress i caused you and your horse. i honestly, i have no idea as to what i would have done.”
He thinks too highly of himself that’s the truth and it always will be, even if this girl really had tried to kill him it wouldn’t surprise many, sure a lot of people would be sad that such a pretty face had died but there was probably going to be a lot of people who were happy because of his death.
An honest mistake doesn’t make it any better, he believes that it was a mistake even if he doesn’t want to, because usual he doesn’t wants to trust others but this girl has miraculously convinced him someway that it was a mistake, but he’s not going to admit that he trusts her, that would hurt his pride way too much.
“Why is a girl even practicing this far out in the forest?” he puts extra weight on the word girl, because he’s still confused regarding her gender, he’s too close-minded he doesn’t believe anyone can do anything except for himself. So, this is a question he wants an answer to, not why she’s practicing so far out in the forest but why a girl is practicing, and more how come she’s so good, because if she really did try to kill him then she’s seriously good at archery.
‘Might have screamed at the sight of blood’ that’s embarrassing, has she never seen blood before? A chuckle leaves his mouth as she speaks, she shouldn’t have screamed she should’ve just walked away, that is what he would’ve done.
“Pay me for the stress?” a chuckle leaves his mouth, she hasn’t caused him any stress, but he’d still like to hear what she’d do “how?” it sounds, his tone is a little surprising, it’s not his normal harsh tone this is however just a normal tone, just like any other’s.
“I don’t want you to believe that I’d forgive you that easily, so please tell me what you’ll do to make me forgive you”

“I know you have something to say, so say it.”
Raising his eyes from the book he’d been reading, he raised an eyebrow and the unamused expression on his twin’s face. Though he didn’t say anything, Yejun couldn’t help but run through the last few hours, trying to figure out what he’d done to incur his brother’s ire this time. Though he was drawing up one huge blank. All he’d done since coming from work was eat and talk to their father.
…Oh and ducked out of sight to have a coughing fit. Though Yejun had been sure that neither his brothers or his father had been within hearing range. He scowled a little. Did a servant rat on him?
Clearing his throat as quietly as possibly, Yejun let the silence stretch for another moment more before closing the book with a sigh and turning to face Daehyung completely.
“What is it, Daehyung? This book won’t read itself.”
He’s talking to his brother once again, it’s amazing how he talks to his brother so much because he hates it, he sure does love his brother very much (which he never would admit) but his brother is no way worthy of talking to Daehyung (but in Daehyung’s eyes, nobody is). However, talking to his brother sometimes is okay because Yejun is interesting, it’s fun to tease or mock Yejun and more than often Daehyung does that.
This time Daehyung has something on his heart, a heavy topic more like a question that he needs an answer to, he already knows the answer, but he wants his brother to admit it, and if Yejun won’t admit it then Daehyung will make him admit it.
He looks down at his brother, he’s reading some stupid book, it surprises him that his brother can even read a book when his intelligence is the same as a donkey (in Daehyung’s eyes), Daehyung learned to read a long time ago, he studied a lot because then he had a reason to not be with others, which was great except studying was boring, but everything is boring, there’s only few things in this world that isn’t boring and that list is very short.
“You’re sick, aren’t you?” it sounds, the tone is harsh just like always, the only time where it isn’t harsh is when he talks to his sister (but even there he often talks in a hard tone) or when he talks to someone in a higher class than himself. “I’m not talking about your usual sick, not the insult kind of sick that I so often call you but the seriously sick” and the harsh tone continues, to Daehyung it isn’t even harsh it’s just his normal tone “tell me the truth”.

wedding are crowded, loud places - something that hui had learned all about and tended to avoid whenever possible. as the younger son of the deputy chief scholar, hui always had that little bit of leeway thanks to his brother; with him around, he was never required at most of these socializing events.
but this one was different. a good friend, a respectable hyung, was getting married. this was a huge event that he felt more than incline to participate, and send his well wishes. for one, this was the first wedding of someone he knew, not just an ‘acquaintance’. ( and perhaps, it was for the better that he’s not heard any hisses of gossip lurking in the corners between the bride and the groom. )
he hicced, pursing his lips shut in efforts not to make too loud of an unruly sound. having a little bit of alcohol tend to cause that to happen. or at least, this second time he’s down a bowl of wine, was the second time that sent him into a light, prolonged fit of hiccups. but nothing a few gulps of tea and a withheld breath of air couldn’t fix - a trick his household nanny had taught him when he was a mere child.
and even then, he couldn’t do it in peace. eyeing the person beside him cautiously at first because of his loud…disgruntled mannerisms, the pursed lip expression soon turned into a downright frown. neat eyebrows knitted together in mild annoyance as his expression continued to sour with each word he said, it was the inauspicious statement that had him jumping up onto his feet.
❝ that’s unnecessary, ❞ he said, voice holding a childish spark in his retaliation. hui was never one great at arguments, mostly because he’s a pacifist out of convenience, but this young man had touched a nerve. who is he, anyway?  ❝ weddings are times for celebrations. perhaps you should have made your way home if this doesn’t suit your preference, instead of being a mean, killjoy! ❞
He was tired, this stupid wedding just kept on becoming more and more stupid why wasn’t there even anyone around him who was exciting? At this point he had even accepted someone talkative approaching him then he could at least be annoyed at that single person, but that simple it simple just wasn’t.
He tries remembering back to anything funny or special that had happened in his life, maybe that’ll would’ve entertained him, but his life’s pretty boring, the funniest thing about it is whenever people approach him because of his looks thinking they can win him over (which they of course never can). He then thinks back to one of his memories, the one where he almost killed his brother by shooting him, that was bit funny. A single chuckle escapes his mouth, but the chuckle is very short, and he is very soon back to being unbelievable bored.
Suddenly he hears a voice and it sounds like the voice is speaking to him, he turns his head to find out that the voice indeed is talking to him. The owner of the voice however is obviously stupid, is this person trying to convince that weddings aren’t bored or that he’s a ‘mean killjoy’? He looks at the other in disgust for a few seconds before a loud laugh leaves his mouth. His hands lands on the other’s shoulder and he looks at the other with no sense of emotion “Listen, why in the world do you care about my words?” he looks the other directly in the eyes, he might be making the other uncomfortable, that’s the most common things that happens when he gets their eye contact (or they fall in love with him because a ‘god’ looking boy looked at them), but even if he is making the other uncomfortable he doesn’t care at all. “You need better insults, calling me a killjoy won’t hurt me at all” the hand that was on the shoulder goes up to the others hair before patting and messing the others hair.
At last a chuckle escapes his mouth.

quietly, the female slipped out of his grasp. if she was in her right mind, she would have made a run for it alone but no, she had to pull him with her. he was hiding from someone wasn’t he? she didn’t know what enticed her to help him but she did. “there is a door out back. i saw someone leave through there earlier,” she explained, putting on her jangot. hayoung gave a small bow to the shop owner before turning to the male, wondering if he was going to follow her. her mind raced to her maid; she probably was wondering where hayoung was. she made a mental note to find her maid later before heading home. “now are you going to tell me who you are? and who you are hiding from— you at least owe me that.”
It was irritating how she couldn’t just be quiet, but it was more irritating how she wouldn’t even be quiet after he had told her to do so. What was even worse was how she thought she was in a position to ask him who he was but then she guesses his intentions. His eyes gets a bit bigger and for a second he’s surprised but he quickly gets back to his senses, his gets a bit closer to her and then lowers his voice “how—” but he doesn’t manage to finish his sentence before she’s suddenly gone and walking away from him asking him to follow her.
Immediately when she stops walking, he looks back, he needs to make sure no one noticed (or more that his mom didn’t notice). It’s mostly rare that he gets help from others either people won’t help him, or he directly turns down their offer of help, this time he would’ve done the same, but he didn’t even get to blink before she was helping him. He’s not sure whether to be thankful or not, maybe if she had just been quiet then his mom wouldn’t have noticed them and then this help would have been meaningless but if she did go into the store then he’s happy that she dragged him out, this of course does not mean that he’ll give her a thank you, she doesn’t deserve that much.
Without a thought he responds to her words within less than a second “I don’t owe you anything!” it comes out harshly and he might need to be thankful but he’s not the type to owe anyone something so when she says those words this is his first reaction. He sighs deeply and then looks at her, he studies her for a good couple of seconds and then starts to speak “I don’t see any reason for me to tell you who I am, but it was nice of you to help me” he crosses his arm as he starts to stare at her.

run.
it had been her first thought and jiyoung almost acted on it. the only thing that stopped her hand been the horse. even she had a chance to beat him on foot, she had no chance in beating him when he had a horse. so she stood in shock. she had almost killed a man. even worse, he was still alive so that meant trouble. all she wanted was to not be recognized.
“i’m sorry sir!” finally her voice came out and jiyoung almost dropped to the ground in a bow. she managed to settle with a deep bow. “that’s my arrow. i don’t normally see people this deep in the forest.” and that was the truth, at much as she disliked men she didn’t shoot arrows at them. “i had been practicing and i didn’t realize anyone was coming.” the last part came out in one breath.
“please  forgive me.”
It was anger who rushed through him, who had even dared to try to shoot him? He sure wasn’t the most popular among the people who knew him, he knew that people didn’t like him, but he still had his fair amount of girls fangirling over his looks and thinking of him as ‘sexy’ become of how cold he was, could it be anyone’s boyfriend who was jealous of Daehyung?
Finally, the other stepped out of the bush and to Daehyung’s surprise it was a girl. At first, he found himself dumbfounded, completely unaware of his earlier thoughts but then he came back to his senses. Regardless of whether it was a girl or boy it was someone who had tried to kill him, and the fact that it was a girl was even more surprising, why would any girl kill a pretty man like him? And how could a girl even be that good at shooting arrows?
But then she said, sorry. It seemed genuine as if she meant it, but he couldn’t be sure of whether she meant it or not, but then she started to speak again. For a fact, what she said was true, people normally didn’t go this deep into the forest but Daehyung did often, to get away from his stupid family and stupid everyone. At first his intention was to ask why a girl was practicing but then she spoke before he could speak, saying something as simply as a sorry and forgive me. For a while he was second but then he spoke up “Tell me. Tell me why I should forgive you? What had you done if that arrow had hit me? Please tell me” he crossed his arm and started to stare with anger in his eyes at the other.

A yawn escapes his mouth. He feels tired it’s probably because of this stupid wedding he is attending, why is he even attending it? How did his father manage to get Daehyung convinced to go to this wedding, right now Daehyung would even rather wash clothes or help his mother cooking, but she was here with him and his father and so it had ended that Daehyung could do nothing but attend this dumb wedding.
Even the people here bore him, he finds nothing special about them but that’s probably because he only admires himself, if you asked Daehyung and he had to tell the truth then he would tell you that he was even better than the queen, this of course was something he kept to himself.
But as the minutes passes by he feels more and more bored, he just wants to escape this stupid wedding, he just wants to head home, unless there suddenly happens something like the princess runs away or dies then this wedding is going to be boring the whole night.
“Why am I even attending this wedding? I don’t care about the princess at all” the words comes out of his mouth and he doesn’t seem to care because his parents aren’t around him right now “it would be better if someone just burned this place down” he continues, probably an exaggerate but why would that matter? it wasn’t like someone would care about what he just said.

dalhayoung
shaking her head, she turned to her maid, asking if she could check something at a store nearby. hesitantly, the maid agreed, saying that she should come follow right after to avoid getting scolded by her mother. hayoung tried to hide the smile on her face and nodded. she looked around the store for a while, taking off her janggot, and running her fingers through the silk laid out in front of her; the softness of the textile against her skin. seeing that nothing had caught her eye, she decided to head out and catch up to her maid. as she stepped out of the store, strong hands pulled her to the side and towards a small corner. panic washed over hayoung, unsure at what to do. she’s only ever heard of situations like these from her maids and servants, she wasn’t even sure if those stories were true but here she was, pinned to a wall by a stranger. maybe they were after all; hayoung froze. “w—who are you? what do you want?” fear tainted in her voice.
As usual Daehyung was trying to hide from his mother and her never ending talk, she just never stopped talked and by now he had gotten enough of it he wanted to hide from her, he knew that going out with his mother had been a terrible idea and this situation now only proved him right.
He walked through the crowd hurriedly trying to get away from his mother, his steps were getting faster and he prayed that she wouldn’t notice how he had left her alone. Unlucky however he suddenly got eye contact with her, oh no this was terrible he didn’t need to hear more of her talking, does she really think that talking about hair pins and food would entertain Daehyung after she basically forced him to go out with her?
He looked away from her fast and then hurried over to a random store, there was no one else there (other than the seller) that could make a sound and bring attention to this hiding place, so he found this to be the best place to hide. He smiled to the one other person who was in there, a fake smile this of course was and then he put his finger on his mouth as a signal to be quiet.
He looks confused as another person suddenly enters the store and he steps a bit back, it seems like the other hasn’t even noticed Daehyung. But then it looks like the other person is heading out, this can’t be happening, if someone walks out then won’t his mother notice this store? If she doesn’t see it then she will just walk past it, and as good as he knows his mother, he knows that she’s probably checking the stores to find him.
In less than a second he grabs the other person, pulling her close to his body and afterwards pinning her to the wall, he looks out the door hoping to see that his mother is passing by or that she isn’t there at all but then the other person speaks “be quiet” he demands as he gets eye contact with her.

it felt good to be a little free. it had been stifling over the last few days. it had been the king this, royal marriage that. it had been so bad that  even escaping to her father’s study didn’t work. her mother would come in and talk to the both of them, effectively ending any studying. but today, today she would be very free. in fact, she already. by the time the sun had risen jiyoung found a way out of the house. and by the time it had reached what seemed like the highest point in the sky, she hadn’t returned.
( at some point she did find a servant boy to send a note home. she was safe and she would return home soon enough. )
but for now she went to her favorite hiding place. the forest and to her favorite spot. it took a little bit of work but she had the perfect hiding place for her items. all the items that would be snatched away at home. and today, she wanted to practice her shooting. it took no time for her to get to changed and ready before she set out. she was sure only an hour or so had passed in the time it took her to get deeper. everything was a little more..cluttered but she hadn’t expected to me another person. jiyoung swore that she didn’t hear him coming. there hadn’t been time to stop herself before she released the arrow and it went flying. it didn’t stop until it embedded itself in a tree. flying right past a man’s face.
and she was speechless.
It was the usual, he was tired of looking at other people’s faces and he just wanted to have time for himself, he had therefore gone to his horse and in a hurry went to the forest. The forest, one of the few things in this world he found beautiful (besides himself of course), he went there often, and if the trees could speak then they would tell you that he was the most familiar face they knew, probably also the most beautiful.
Slowly he rode his horse, looking at every part of the forest, admiring it even if he had seen all of it before a million times. He stopped as he suddenly heard a noise, and in less than a second a sudden thing flew right past his face, he rapidly turned his head to see what had almost hit him. An arrow it was, a shocked expression showed on his face, was someone trying to kill him?
Hurriedly he went down from his horse, tying it to the tree that the arrow had hit. He jumped while stretching his long arm, and surprisingly he managed to grab the arrow and pull it down with him, he looked at it closely, but he couldn’t recognize it, a bit scared he of course was but that didn’t stop him from walking around his horse and looking in the direction the arrow had come from.
In the bushes, he spotted an unfamiliar face, was this the person who had tried to kill him? Who did they think they were to try to kill someone as amazing as him? “Is this yours?” he then lifted his hand up showing the arrow, keeping his look firm on the stranger.

⌿fear in my eyes⍀
Content Warning: vomiting, blood, death
It feels like absolutely hell, this wedding is way too boring, Daehyung has talked to an uncountable amount of people and it disgusts him, he’d much rather be at home. And it doesn’t help how his glass slips out of his hands and spills wine all over him (which he finds to be his twin, Yejun’s fault)
And what is even worse is that his twin touches him (but it was simply just with his elbow) and tries to come with a ‘funny comment’, a simple expression of disbelief luckily gets his twin’s laughter to die out.
He looks down at his clothes, it’s red now, how lovely, the color isn’t even that pretty, it would have been prettier with blood, that’s when he suddenly hears a sound and looks up. He turns his head to look at the princess, she seems to be in pain, well she’s coughing up blood, but Daehyung’s expression however does not change at all, he didn’t know the princess and he finds no reason whatsoever to care about her coughing up blood, and that counts with the two others who are coughing up blood too. It isn’t a surprise, but Daehyung almost enjoys seeing them die, it is the most exciting thing that has happened all day, not that he himself would want them dead, not that he cared about whether they were alive, he simply did not care about them.
Suddenly he realizes it, it took him a good amount of time, but he realizes how they’ve been poisoned, and in fear he turns his head to look at his sister Ahyeon in fear that she might have been hurt, but she doesn’t seem to be dead. And then, he turns his head to his brother, seeing what he feared most, Yejun seems to not be so healthy.
Fears surrounds him, he is absolutely scared for his brother’s life, and suddenly Daehyung finds himself to be shaking just as much as his brother. He quickly thinks, not that he knows what to do, but he grabs Yejun’s shoulder and shakes it hard and multiple time “Yejun! Answer me, are you okay?” it’s the only thing he wants to know, and he keeps repeating his words, hoping for an answer.
Finally, Yejun’s looks up, Daehyung feels a sense of relief, but not for long because then Yejun throws up. Rapidly Daehyung looks away, asking himself whether he should help his brother or not, this vomiting thing isn’t exactly anything for him, and he’s not sure if he loves his brother enough to help him this much. But he chooses to look at his brother again, he still finds Yejun to be as ugly as before, and therefore chooses to help him, he sits down, patting his dear brother, and to his surprise he feels tears forming in his eyes, is this what fear feels like?
