Morally ambiguous whumpees

Okay I know we all love beating up on poor innocent whumpees but hear me out on this one:

Whumpee that is so morally ambigous even they’re not sure if they don’t deserve every bit of pain.

Consequently, do they even deserve to be rescued? Do they deserve caretaker’s kindness?

Whumpee that is mentally tormented by the guilt of what they’ve done. Willingly accepts the pain as retribution.

From an outsider’s perspective, it’s actually hard to tell who is the whumpee and who is the whumper in a scenario.

Former whumpee who becomes a whumper/does similar evil things in order to cope with their trauma.

Whumpee who brutally destroys their whumper in revenge.

Stoic whumpee that repeatedly rejects caretaker’s help even though it hurts them both.

Whumpee and whumper have that weird relationship where Whumper is stronger physically, but whumpee is emotionally manipulative.

In conclusion: morally ambiguous whumpees are cool.

Whumpee wakes up groggy, beat up as hell and covered in bandages. they blink, sorting out their surroundings as caretaker enters the room, two coffees in hand.

“Oh hey, thought you’d be waking up soon.” they say, handing whumpee one of the mugs like it’s just another ordinary day. Whumpee makes an eager noise under their breath as they gingerly take the mug, nearly chugging half of it in their first go.

“I think I love you.” They rasp, cradling their mug in their hands as if it were gold. Caretaker snorts into their coffee, endlessly amused.

Caretakers who are scary. Caretakers who are intimidating. Caretakers whom the Whumpee is very glad to have on their side (because they’d hate to have them against them).

Caretakers who are cold. Calculating. Threatening, even, maybe.

But once Whumpee, their friend, is hurt, they show a completely different side. They are kind, gentle, concerned. Still a little pushy. Definitely makes sure Whumpee takes their medicine on time. They only need to shove some food into Whumpee’s face and they wouldn’t dare not eat it. 

And if the Whumpee is hurt, and Caretaker is on the war path, even Whumper is starting to have second thoughts about having messed with them.

Just intimidating Caretakers, man.

I Will Use This

I am so fucking desperate for whump that works with my clockwork boy. There’s a bunch of prompts for androids that are like, pain sensors and reprogramming and glitching and overheating and things and that’s incredibly valid but also Founder is clockwork he is a mechanical boy not a digital one and that immediately makes like 75% of robot whump prompts useless to me when I just want to get my machine cultist getting fuckt up fix (haha get it fix)

The once-strong whumpee weakened to the point they can barely stand, their broken, shivering body prone upon the floor. Wide eyes, glazed with panic, meet the caretaker’s own.

The caretaker kneels above them. Shielding them. Taking the punishment for them.

They hear the whumper laugh, the smack of hard metal on flesh, the caretaker’s cry of pain from the assault on their back. 

“Move,” the whumpee begs. Their hands push against the caretaker’s shoulders but there’s no strength behind it; no matter how desperately they shove against the caretaker, they remain unyielding.

Another blow. Another agonized gasp.

The whumpee’s voice cracks. “Move. Please.”

“…no,” the caretaker whispers back.

They see the whumper over the caretaker’s shoulder, grinning wide, bared teeth dripping with sadism. 

They bring the weapon down again.

A leader sacrificing themselves for torture and humiliation to save their team being held at gunpoint. And in front of them the Whumper makes them kneel, forces them face first onto the ground.

Whumper hammering a spike nail into their shoulder blade. The screams that erupt against the cold floor, cause their team to lurch forward but they’re held in place by the henchmen’s guns.

The pain and humiliation as the blood pools from their shoulder, out their jacket onto the floor. And as they calm their breaths, the shame they feel, that their whimpers of pain were the only thing that could save their friends.

The whumpee looked up, their eyes bright with defiance and anger. “What- no. Never. Not to you.”

The whumper sighed. As expected, they thought. But a smile crept back onto their face, their pale lips parting, flashing a set of pearly whites. “Let’s hope you don’t have attachment issues then,” they chuckled, leaning in close now. “After all, [caregiver’s] going to have a hell of a time in the basement.”

Okay so there are two things that are vying for dominance here and different ones win 

1. Failure obviously which is actually more severe when he’s younger because the earlier Foundation basically had more chance to fail while the current Foundation,,,, is kind of. It’s gonna take a lot. He’s no longer at risk of having his life’s work destroyed before it gets off the ground, which is a big thing earlier/Initiative Founder definitely was worried about, and just. Not being able to face whatever the earlier Foundation would have gone up against y know? Earlier Founder was foremost terrified of everything falling apart around him, of falling short of perfection, of not being able to fix something and change fast enough and of failing to prevent the end of the world. Earlier Founder is haunted by and probably an avatar of the Extinction 

2.  Straight up social interaction and failure there which is actually a much later one because of the 500 Years Of Social Trauma that hadn’t happened yet for earlier Founder. This one more came up because of a) the cumulative effect and b) the mostly putting to rest of the aforementioned fear of everything just fuckin falling apart which, while still present, is much more lowkey and undercut by slow simmer of “and one day soon I will just bite it.” He’s still highkey terrified of being singled out as wrong or of being exploited/lied to again etc etc because of again cumulative effect of 500 Years Of Social Trauma and it is to the point that it’s one of the few, if not the only, things he’s given up on.
