Dirk has canonically stated that he's not attracted to women and he literally rejected a girl for years on end, despite wanting to return her feelings, because he couldn't make himself attracted to her. Kanaya shows no canonical attraction to a guy in canon so it's not Death of the Author to see her as bi, it's lesbian erasure. Also, there are plenty of people in real life who are attracted to the same gender only and still reject the gay label. (Continued on the next message because word count)

something about damara that a lot of people miss and thats kind of crucial to her character is that she *isn't* east alternian. she's a *weaboo*. she speaks broken japanese because she's a weaboo who can't speak the language. that's her gimmick. hussie should've been more clear communicating it but nonetheless in the lore she is fully west alternian and a weaboo.

I feel like we don't talk about troll nationalities nearly enough. Damara is Eastern Alternian and speaks Japanese. Aradia is the same DNA, so even if she doesn't speak Japanese it's still in her blood and heritage. Aradia is pretty neglected when it comes to fan reception in general. Justice for Apocalypse Arisen.

And then there's the POC coded characters like purple bloods. That's talked about some, but then other characters like Wanshi, who I've never seen mentioned at all.

Even if the trolls are all grey, there's some clear nationality distinction with a lot of them and it's a shame it's not as embraced. There's more I could talk about but those were just my examples to show what I mean.

You know, whether this was supposed to be an honest heart to heart between Dirk and Rose, or more Dirk manipulating Rose for weird, fucked up reasons, I think the update paints a clear picture of just how pathetic ult!Dirk is. Like seriously, his opening text is a lot less hostile to us, he's doing stuff to accomodate for us (speeding up the story, the adult sprites which was a common complaint), and then there is the talk with Rose which is there to say "I'm not so bad" (if the intent was manipulation) and/or to reassure himself that he's doing the right thing (works if this is honest or manipulation).

All this says to me is that Dirk's story got cancelled once, and he just completely folded. Holy shit dude, I can see the tears and snot practically rolling down his face as he tries desperately to get anyone to read his fanfic.
