people don’t talk about it enough but desertduo/scarian is inherently abusive and shouldn’t be shipped or platformed. Specifically Thirdlife is the biggest culprit but their dynamic in general is just. Toxic and bad.

But like in Thirdlife their relationship is incredibly abusive. The power imbalance between Grian and Scar makes it where the two of them CANNOT be shipped together without it being morally wrong. Grian’s life was in Scar’s hands that entire series, Scar could (and did) hold that over his head. Heck multiple people talked about “rescuing” Grian and it was framed almost as a hostage situation. None of Grian’s choices were his own and I do not think a ship based off of that could be moral and sound in any way. Scar even did kill Grian at the end over a piece of paper, showing how much he valued Grian’s life.

The cactus ring shouldn’t be framed as an end to a tragic love story, but as a victim taking power back and killing their abuser. Scarian fans genuinely should go touch grass and realize they shouldn’t be romanticizing this kind of thing.

3rdlife joel... he makes me sad :[ hes alone w his dogs and his house on the hill and he. and he dies to lava once and then dies to fire again. and he turns out burned and charred and falling apart .... hes got geraldine but then later SHE dies to fire it's like... damn. it's just very tragic yknow! the way he burnt down scott n jimmy's wall just because... he wanted someone else to feel what it's like to have a thing you worked on burn... he's drawn to fire like a moth to a flame and YET he's scared of it because it's taken so much..... he hates the way the lava at ethos looks but loves it in the same breath.

he tries to get out of conflict by making friends but in the end it didn't even help him. conflict makes him NERVOUS- when ren and martyn confronted him about the banner beingtaken down?? he was fucking scared.. h e hides behind a pack of wolves or a pack of people and he's... he's terrified he doesn't want to die he never wanted to... he feels so much stronger and is so much more aggressive in the last session BECAUSE he has the army of wolves with him to back him up. he calls himself a free wolf but i think he just means alone...

why has GRIAN, who in my opinion is not great at PvP, killed me at least 8 times in PvP games yet i have NEVER finished ahead of him in buildmart! It is disproportionate to the rest of the games statistically
