a lot of canon divergence, so don’t get mad at inaccuracies. it’s that way on purpose, as this is. new interpretation of the lore with a bit of canon influence.

this isn’t everything btw . just the basics

it’s my strong belief that isa was an old builder as well. alongside harper, cassie, hadrian, mevia, and otto.

soren is not an old builder in our lore.

the old builders are directly connected to the admins, being the official first “humans” to be put in the overworld. they are not of organic matter, like later humans were, but instead created out of small fractions of the admins light- similarly to how romeo and xara had come from fred’s.

they were the closest to the admins, but of course nowhere near their level. this is why they seem to have odd abilities, or don’t seem to really age or die.

isa and otto were fred’s.

cassie and harper were xara’s.

hadrian and mevia were romeo’s.

being made from their light, the old builders naturally inherited traits of theirs. cassie and harper with xara’s ambition. otto representing fred’s tendency to put his friends wants before his own, isa representing leadership and his need to provide. hadrian and mevia with romeo’s determination.

of course, the old builders also inherited some of the admins flaws as well. which resulted in the Games degenerating into the bloodbath it had. Pama’s creation and eventual destruction of Crown Mesa. Cassie Rose’s desperate murders. Isa’s need to keep her people safe becoming a dictatorship.

the negative space in which the portal hall resides does not experience time the same as all the other worlds do. in fact, it doesn’t experience the passage of time at all. it’s an in between zone. it connects everything to nothing. you could be there for years, but only feel like a day or two. on top of that, the hall is more like a labyrinth. a labyrinth that’s always changing shape and direction. it’s how jesse and the others got lost so easily; it’s not just one straight hallway. it constantly changes.

the lack of time in the hall applies for the Games arena as well. time is stopped in there, but it passes outside the in between space. many contestants have been competing in the games for years and years, not aging, while their families and friends outside move on. maybe even PASS on. think of it working like the lotus casino. some people have been there for more than a few decades.

Isa was one of the first of the old builders to leave their negative space. there was no big dramatic disagreement, no fight, as this occurred before the admins disappeared and the others became power hungry. being a close personal friend of fred’s, she could tell something was coming. something she felt she needed to prepare for. so she left quietly, beginning her own world, which she built entirely on her own. it wasn’t long after that fred was killed, xara was locked away, and the last remaining admin abandoned his people.

all isa had left was one final living piece of fred. benedict. or better known as the REAL waffles. (yes i’m aware of the actual eversource lore. i just find this a bit cooler)

the chicken was entrusted to isa, as she was a close personal friend and confidante, and he felt that “waffles” would be safer away from whatever “big thing” was on the horizon.

the waffles we see at fred’s keel is just a normal chicken meant to honor the memory of fred, since many believed the real waffles to be missing. fred never disclosed the real chicken’s whereabouts.

that’s as much as i can think to add here right now. but trust we have a lot of interesting stuff to get through.

We know that Frisk sees Toriel as her mom, but who does she see as her father figure?

Maybe Asgore? He acts like a father most of the time, he's very wise, and he used to be Toriel's husband.

Or does Frisk prefer Sans as a father? I'm not too sure about that. He kinda acts more like a big brother, or a millennial uncle.

(Please ignore Frisk's pronouns. I'm not comfortable using "They/Them")

Well you'd best start getting comfortable with it then. Correct pronouns are non-negotiable.
