Today in obscure Doctor Who jokes:

Somebody on Twitter pointed out that the Big Finish companion Hex is canonically from the year 2021, so when he occasionally abbreviates the word "suspicious" to "sus," it's probably an Among Us reference.

The punchline is that this character was actually introduced back in 2004. It was made-up future slang that they happened to get right.

#this is equal but opposite energy to when i had to explain what among us was to my cousin #because she was bewildered that her nephew knew sus was short for suspicious/was using it in that context #like....... this existed as a popular shortening of suspicious before among us. we know this right #as much as we realize that kids are smarter than they are popularly given credit for and pick up the meanings of words in context easily...

#like idk. ive gotten more than one tag comment on edits that have ID in caption that they were glad it was there #so they understood why i used specific moments etc. #but i also feel like there are some people who don't like how clogged the captions are when the ID is there instead of alt text #toss up #which is also why i haven't gone back and edited old graphics to put IDs in alt text #much to think about. guess ill just have to choose at random.
