I met a man in an alley way who was a travelling cajón maker. He asked me if I knew what a cajón was and when I said “no” he was like “oh, I thought you might know because you look like a spaniard”. Then he claimed he was PJ Harvey’s secret lover and that he hand delivered her a special cajón while she was on tour in Europe. she would sit on it for pictures but hide it underneath her dress for the sake of keeping their relationship secret. He said he was in a famous rock band but I didn’t bother asking him which one cause he was clearly capping. He also said his cajón making business partner abandoned him because he had a “god complex”, but I pegged him as more of a “delusions of grandeur” type guy.

anyway… he was a pretty charismatic and interesting fellow despite the minor racial profiling he did on me.

one of my absolute favorite bands

combatwoundedveteran was a grindcore/powerviolence band from Tampa, Florida from the years 1996 - 2003. In their 7 years of existence they made several spilts with other screamo bands ( one of which was Orchid, most notably ) and became very well known in the underground powerviolence and screamo scene. They released their only studio album named “I Know a Girl Who Develops Crime Scene Photos” in 1999, an EP entitled “Duck Down for the Torso”, and a year after they broke up in 2004, they posthumously released a compilation album containing all of the songs from their various splits, called “This Is Not an Erect, All Red Neon Body”.

Many of the band members are still around today and one of them even have an instagram acc (@combatisdead) go check em out!!
