Are you familiar with the term "You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar"? Because you should be. I'd actually be more willing to get into the spawn ending and the spawn side of the fandom, if people weren't so condescending and invalidating to AA-fans like this. What is with this holier-than-thou attitude toward anyone who doesn't agree with your personal "reinterpretation" that you believe in? Even if you genuinely think there is some overarching, "canon" ending to his story, how is it helpful to anyone (especially AA fans) to be condescending about it?

I have at least enough levels of maturity and understanding to say to you "your interpretation of the information is different from mine but still valid for your roleplay(s)". What's so hard about returning that basic level of respect?

You can't ""reinterpret"" a piece of art that is open-ended and meant to be interpreted however you want as the roleplayer (within canon logic, that is). You just interpret it however you personally do.

As far as "hindering roleplay" goes, you do realize that any time the game assumes how your character feels or what they think (on an emotional level) that it can hinder roleplay, right? Meaning, it disrupts immersion. We simply want the ability to customize the responses and experiences our characters have, just like you want to. And it's an ability we all can share (with the new modding tools coming out in the new patch).

Believe it or not, but not everyone has the same brain as you. Not everyone understands and views things the same way as you. And your way isn't the only "right" way to enjoy something. I know it's really, really hard to fathom, but I'm going to ask you to try really hard to do it.

Can you please answer this question: Why are so many anti-AA people focused on players being punished for something spawn fans don't enjoy? Why not just enjoy Spawnstarion and call it a day?

What is this responsibility you assume to "save" AA fans from our own supposed media illiteracy and misinterpretation/reinterpretation/mischaracterization/misunderstanding of AA and the romance?

What do you gain from this? No, like.... I legitimately want to know. Please reply.

Ngl I feel like Larian is might make AAxTav/Durge a bit more… on the nose “aboosive” w patch 7 (as if that’s even possible after those annoying kiss reactions). I really hope I’m wrong but part of me feels like they might feed us a retcon Cazador 2.0 ending

I don't feel that way, but it's not impossible 🥴 I do think Larian is trying to stay impartial and just provide the broadest roleplay experience for all players... But if certain people *are* still working at Larian and making certain decisions, that could mean your worry could be a reality.

But the fact that the new mod tools will allow modders to customize animations and player character expressions tells me that they are really focused on the player telling their own story, and not so much the protecting some so-called narrative they're telling.

When it comes to customer feedback, I do think that Larian overall would favor the "please provide us a better roleplay experience and perhaps change some small factors that hinder roleplay" angle over the "please preserve this single narrative angle (that is entirely down to personal player interpretation and preference) you are seemingly telling with this one character, and ignore anyone who doesn't agree" angle.

But it's not a guarantee.

Being ENTIRELY honest though... I'm probably not the one to ask. This specific issue wouldn't impact me so much because I never play Durge....And if I ever do play Durge, they probably won't be paired with Astarion (unless I do a Durge AU of Efenity).

SO I will not even be able to notice/experience enough in the next patch to speak on that at all, if that does end up being the case!

Astarion's backstory from EA is still canon. It's written in the official digital art book that came with the launch edition of Baldur's Gate 3.

Ahah sure. I have quite a few gith characters tho, bc it’s my favourite race in the game, but you probably mean the one I’ve mentioned before, Kira. I don’t really have any extensive lore for her, just a blueprint

so basically she’s chaotic evil and always saw people as tools only. But I imagine that this journey helps her discover that some humans are worth.. keeping alive at least. and maybe even more. She’s living her BG3: friendship is magic dream with a very wicked twist. It’s definitely not a redemption story hehe

One of her traits I cherish the most is having absolutely no sense of humour. I just personally find somebody not always getting others’ jokes quite endearing xd but it’s hilarious for everyone involved lol. Still rly charming to me

sadly i think gale would die before dorian would get to see him ascend to godhood. but, i think theyre two very autistic buddies.

its funny, bc my entire experience w romancing gale was like
