8 hours is insane, I can’t believe this took up that much of my time. Anyways The top harbingers minus Capitano first design passovers for my au

Frostbite is Pierro who as far as anyone else is concerned, is 100% a unicorn.

Elegant Angel (Mourning dove) is Columbina and for now is a Pegasus until further notice.

Swan Song (Sugar coat) is Arlecchino, and for now I took the most liberties for her design because… the red is cool. The bat pony aspect of her design is representative of her curse and her connection to khaenri'ah considering bat ponies in this au are almost extinct with only one known remaining. She drinks blood <3

Malicious Medicine (Test tube) is Dottore. His horn was broken in his youth from an accident and his magic has since become incredibly unstable, only able to be contained with specially made magic caps. It stays the same in all his segments since he’s found it impossible so far to mimic innate unicorn magic.

My pookies, they’ll all probably get redesigned somewhat but I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished for now. I love this au so much and I’ve developed my pony art skills enough to finally bring them to life.

On the splash art, something I noticed is unlike the other harbingers, your eyes aren’t immediately drawn to Arlecchino and instead to the scythe. She’s so tiny on her art when she’s supposed to be the focus, but compared to everything else she’s small lol.

However, I think she’s supposed to be a spider. The wing things representing the legs, and the strings trapping the traveler being the webs. However, spiders have no significance to her outside of the anime short, whilst we know why the other three harbingers look the way they do through the game…which is inconvenient.

Also the wing imagery before they become spider looking legs. Maybe they just remembered she had swan imagery before she had bug imagery and had to sneak that in…

Arlecchino lore stop being vague as hell challenge: Impossible

sorry maybe it’s just me but when arle’s boss leaks were slowly releasing her boss splash art did not do her justice imo

like not that it doesn’t bang still but her actual model fucks harder i think

her face just seems a little soft(?) in the splash art imo and i think the attack move they chose for it was strange

again i love arle but she is wayyy more intimidating when she is on the ground so the air attack for the art pose just doesn’t fit her aura

on another note about that attack i don’t understand it(?) not how it works but why they designed it that way because it doesn’t look like it symbolizes anything in particular that resonates with her character (it sort of looks like a butterfly/moth so idk ig signora mention pt 3 or maybe columbina inspired with them kinda being wings)

i could just be missing the lore behind it but tartaglia has the narwhale and scaramouche has the insta kill you have to disable similar to raiden and both of those actually connect to their character/lore

I’d say pre lazzo, but like by a small amount I’m sort of indifferent. I wasn’t playing genshin until 6 months after the trailer was out, but I didn’t like how the mystery of the harbingers felt… erased after I watched it.

I also don’t like how it means you kinda have to watch it to, hell, understand some of the world quests. Like I don’t remember what it’s called… Questioning Melusine I think. Sandrone is mentioned to have cut someone’s tongue out, but they don’t mention her by name, just a harbinger with a fondness for robots or whatever, and you could tell who watched the trailer and who didn’t based on who people thought that harbinger was. Which meant more arlecchino mischaracterization which like “yay, love that, hope that doesn’t last long.”

But that’s based entirely on story telling, idk how the fandom reacted to the trailer unfortunately and how the perception of the Fatui changed within fans.

Reminds me of one time someone mentioning how the commedia doesn’t really matter when it comes to theorizing about the Fatui. That the only thing any of the character share with their counterparts is their names… which like, one no, and two how fucking boring are you❓
