Sammy had surgery today, he had some abscesses on his teeth (something he’s had before). He got through it okay and is home now. Unsteady on his feet but alert and has an appetite. He’s having some trouble relaxing though. He’s not young, he’s 14-15 years old, so anesthesia probably takes him a while longer to recover from. I’m relieved he’s okay but hope he feels more normal soon. at least now he should have a lot less pain. Poor guy…

The growth on his gums was concerning enough that they’re going to do a biopsy to check for cancer. I was and still am really worried about him. Struggled/struggling with intrusive thoughts and some magical thinking. I keep feeling like my anxious thoughts made this happen to him, like it’s my fault. Like if I just hadn’t said to myself or thought to myself so many times about how heathy he is for his age… logically I know that’s not how it works but having a tough time shaking it.
