6. What small quirks do they love about each other?

I love Digs' confidence, even if he talks a lot of shit and usually gets rocked for it, but sorry it's just sexy! His Australian pride is also charming because he'll shit on his hometown but no one is allowed to make fun of Australia except him. He's not used to someone actually encouraging him to talk, much less about things that make him happy and reminds him of the few good things of growing up, so he'll soak up any attention I offer. He really loves that I came up with an affectionate nickname for him - makes "us" feel more real, more official. I'm the only one who's allowed to call him Digs - no one else! He also likes watching me verbally dress someone down until it's aimed at him lmao We're the She Yaps / He Can Fight couple

7. Who makes the other laugh more?

Digs is consistently the funnier of us as a pair and lives to hear me devolve into snort laughs. He can't get enough of my sarcasm and we will playfully roast each other over the pettiest things. Someone who wasn't aware of our dynamic would think we despise each other, but those in the know are painfully aware that this is also a barely concealed form of foreplay.

15. Who has a hobby only the other knows about?

Even though his intelligence gets downplayed or straight-up mocked, Digs is really smart from a technical standpoint even if he isn't eloquent in his execution. I'm not math-smart, but he can explain the physics necessary behind aerofoils and how certain scenarios influence his boomerang designs (wind resistance, velocity, etc.). He learns from every encounter with the F.lash and has a genuine drive to improve and be recognized for his hard work, even as a criminal. He's actually really smart and I'll never not be impressed by his work!! Also has a passing interest in stick-n-poke tattoos which he started doing as a kid and picked up again in exchange for cigs/snacks whenever he was in prison. His lines are shaky as hell and his hygiene is questionable, but he hasn't gotten Hep C yet so he must be doing something right, right? On the other hand, Digs can't stand traditional academia (" 's too damn stuffy") and zones out if he thinks he's being lectured at. Whatever I'm interested in, he's happy to kick back and listen to me yammer about whatever interests me at that moment be it a show, a cool bug fact, or a vacation I've been saving for. He loves that I'm a planner like him because neither of us are content with coasting by on the day-to-day. Digs appreciates that I'm passionate about a lot of different things, even if I don't necessarily make money from it. Hell, he might even respect that (doesn't stop him from stealing tho, someone has to fund these daydreams). He interrupts very rarely because the one time he did, he wished that he had a teacher like me when he was young because he might have actually stayed in school, which activated my Crybaby Mode ;;

16. How do they hype each other up?

WE GAS EACH OTHER UP SO HARD 🗣️📢 Digs gets a MASSIVE ego boost when I cheer him on and either absolutely solo's Barry for once or completely eats shit; it's literally 50/50 whether or not it works in his favor, but he's not about to flop when his girl is watching! Whenever Digs gets in his head about his losses or bad childhood, he knows that I love him too much to patronize him with soft support but can kick his ass into action by reminding him that Captain Goddamn Boomerang is a household name for a reason and never those hick shits who gave him hell.

This man WILL NOT SHUT UP when I get dressed up, he's howling and whistling like a Tex Avery cartoon even if I'm not wearing something outright sexy. He's weak for the librarian/teacher look, ESPECIALLY on me. He is sooo loud when cheering for me I'm just like "thank u babe 🧍" get this man a muzzle he's gonna get us kicked out of every possible public venue

finally got to playing K/tJL and it reminded me of how much I adore Harley despite her having DC's version of Wolverine Publicity, so I wanted to make a few catarang verse headcanons

• We were in the same graduating class at Gotham University and eventually became roommates because all her other roommates switched after a few weeks when they simply could not tolerate her bubbly chatterbox behavior.

• That said, we got along great and enjoyed spending time studying together as well as hanging out after school! She frequently got kicked out of the Gotham Public Library for talking too loud when she came to visit, so she'd see me on my lunch break when she could.

• I let Harley use me as case study for her victimology finals in exchange for small favors (buying snacks, doing chores, etc.). My formative years spent in Hub City (which is canonically WORSE than Gotham) gave me a headstart in childhood of weighing morality versus my individual need to survive within an environment of perpetual crime that predictably shaped my 24/7 survival mode mental state well into adulthood. From that point forward, Harley made it her mission to help me decompress and "get out of that stuffy apartment and live a lil'!"

• Harley's psychoanalysis was usually spot on and really helpful considering my bad experiences talking about mental health, and she was proud of the fact that I trusted her in confidence with my worst feelings and that I laughed at her awful jokes. This may or may not have been her first "I can fix ___" moment that would have absolutely no repercussions when she got hired at Arkham.

• We were both in Crane's psychology class on the day of his Gun Incident. Harley was convinced the whole chaotic scene was a bit until the school issued an official statement of his firing and I just keep taking notes because I am that desensitized to gunshots. Jonathan still comments that we were his best students despite our different life paths and applications (killer juggalette with abusive felon boyfriend and gifted kid burnout with loser felon boyfriend)

• I hate the J.oker in every universe and will stomp him to death with my hooves.

• When we meet during one of her schemes on the streets of Gotham, we're still cordial to each other even if she "randomly" picks me as a hostage from the crowd. I am - to everyone's concern - much more okay with this post-Joker.

• She thought Digs' was lying about his "smokin' hot piece of ass" until she saw us together and honest-to-god squee'd in the year of our lord 2024. After being in a shitty "relationship," she high-key lives vicariously through us and hopes it works out. If not, then we can talk shit about our exes until the cows come home, then talk shit about the cows.
