yeah, there’s a few details in the original japanese that get lost in translation (for example akane using the second-person pronoun アンタ to refer to teru, which is usually either used to show disrespect or closeness)

I had no idea the two Aoi's had different spelling. I guess the jp fandom didnt freak out over Teru saying he likes 'Akane-san' then? Too bad for them, because I like the brain damage that panel gave me.

why is akane aoi named akane aoi like why couldn't his name be different from aoi. what the fuck is up with that why would they do that

their names are spelt with different kanji in japanese (蒼井茜 is the boy, 赤根葵 is the girl) & they probably didn’t consider how it could cause confusion if translated into a language like english, which uses a purely phonetic writing system. also it’s funny
