Ever since it was released I have gravitated towards it and always wanted to try it out. But time passed by and it never happened until now. After about 10 minutes figuring where things were located and how to delete the sequence that was playing I started out and came into a trance. Very intense and beautiful experience. So this is definitely going on the want list. I only noticed the master drive after I was already deep into the jam. So yeah, it's very crunchy. But I kinda like it :). Syntakt really is incredible. I have had it for a few weeks now (thanks for sending it over Elektron!) and it was more or less love at first sight. The speed at which I can create things I hear in my head is incredible. The sound design you can do with this because of the possibility to layer digital with analog is downright awesome. This video is not a review or overview of the functions. For that a lot of videos have come online already that do a perfect job :). What I will do is release a bunch of videos this week with tracks that I recorded completely and only with Syntakt. This will give you a good idea of its sonic capabilities. In some time I will release tutorials and what not about this wonderful instrument. It has found its way into my live setup already and will perform with it next week for the first time. Back with a new sample recording video. In this video I sample the city Utrecht again, but this time with the help of SOMA Ether. Ether is a device that receives FM without any filtering. Because of this you can hear all the electromagnetic waves around you and it's incredible how many cool sounds you can find this way. I show you the process of recording the samples and then a live recording of a track made with these samples. It's a track I'm actually proud of :) You can get the sample pack on my website's shop. It contains a lot of gold and is great to work with. Polyend was kind enough to send one over to check out and I must say it's a refreshing way of working. It opens other creatrive doors. Son this is the first track I created on it. Bit traditional but the tracker does invite to create a dusty sound like this. Next track I'm going to explore the more crazy things you can do with it as it provides a lot of opptions to create very glitchy complex rhythms.
