To get the jist of how it works, each state has a number of Electoral Colleges which are determined by the number of representatives in congress(which is also determined by each states population). Just about every state plays a winner take all set up, which means that if the majority of the votes that come in are for one candidate they get all the electoral votes. This sounds stupid, but it tries to equal the footing between large states and smaller states.
The first candidate to get over 270 will become the president. It is possible to loose the electoral but win the popular vote, weird that it happens but it still happens.
Hope this helps a little.
Okay, so, question…
Can someone please explain the US elections for me? We have a different voting system so I don’t get it that much (Which means I don’t know how serious the possibility of Trump being president is)
Like, is it impossible for Hillary to turn the tables? Too difficult? Very?
Should we all be freaking out? How many votes have been counted (like percentage) and how unturnable is the tendency?
Please shed some light on these facts. Because I feel like I’m about to freak out but some say it’s too early for that and other make it seem like it’s already a closed deal.
Please?

But like did everyone seem to forget the part that says license students...... guns have massive background checks and I'm assuming by licensed they mean concealed carry which you have to take a course to get the license.

So I some quick and I mean really quick research and it’ll probably show. but I found something interesting that people seem to forget.
So the EU has been around since 1993, that’s 23 years of people that have only ever lived in the EU. That explains why a lot of young people voted to remain, its all they’ve ever known. This also explains the older generation voting to leave. They were there before joining the EU so they do know what its like to not be apart of it. So I can understand why it looks so despairing that old people are “ruining” young peoples lives, but to there defense they do know what it was like without being in the EU, go and talk to them and listen to what they have to say.
Tumblr media
this is why this sucks imo

From what I’ve seen from 2 people I watch from youtube ( Sargon of akkad and Thunderf00t) they’re both on opposite sides. One from leaving will hurt science and one from the exit about not having elected representation or something along those lines. Its limited viewpoints and only have a few videos with little information in them.
Now I don’t know how its been economically in the UK in History, so I can’t say if they’re better economically staying. The thing I did notice is that the market took a hit because the idiots there banked on a staying decision instead of not banking on leaving or staying. A lot of chaos has ensued because of Outrage Culture and this idea that its the end of the world.
I think the part that really makes me sad is the fact that Cameron is resigning because of the vote. He’s the one that won his election by offering the vote. It just reeks of “Since I didn’t get what I want, I’m quitting” attitude.
If there’s one thing I’ve really learned in the last few years of American Politics is that the right uses fear, but uses statistics like they’re the absolute truth and the left plays the victim card where you’re always the victim to them and that the government needs to protect you.
It sucks being the libertarian and leaning left, but at the same time being tired of the pandering that the left does (I.E Hillary and Bernie’s pandering to people and blaming society for all the problems). I’m also tired of the way the right uses fear to get attention.
If there’s one thing that bothers me the absolute most its the left and rights name calling bullshit. They each call each other names at people when the people haven’t actually said something that qualify it. For instance the way the Left has dealt with Trump, calling him a racist and then playing a clip that actually isn’t him being racist but saying it is. Its the same as what the right did to Obama with calling him a Muslim and all the other names they call him without backing it up with actual things.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind actually going to listen to Trump to see what hes really like, but the issue is that the people protesting would harass me and call me sexist and bigioted and cis white scum etc etc. The political system of the two parties have gotten so extreme its ridiculous.
I feel like the odd ball in my generation because I hold values and ideas that are different from there’s and thus I get treated differently, its honestly just sad.

answered your question: In here, when Colectiv happened it was somehow…
Brexit may be a good thing. may be a bad thing. I don’t know enough to accurately decide. Trump says a bunch of stupid shit, but A lot of peoples problem isn’t because of racism, sexism etc. I’d go more in detail but limited by response.
In my experience there in UK, them leaving the EU would kill their economy. But hey, I’m not an expert. Just an observer.
The thing is, people’s problems are usually others, but politicians don’t exactly take them into account, though they do make a use of them.
Look how’s here with Romania. For example when the immigration thing started, Romanians here (besides the fanatical religious ones), didn’t have a problem with receiving immigrants since we have Muslim students and people living here for a long time. HELL, the ex island, Ada-Kaleh from back home should tell people one or two, however their point was stricly economically related. People were whining because there’s no money to sustain ourselves, how could we sustain others? That was the problem the normal people posed.
But ofc, the story that got out was sooo different. And it’s usually like that everywhere, because that’s what politicians do. They give you the impression they care about your problems, when all they do is take them, make use of them, take them out of context to serve certain other things and so on and so forth, and at the end of the day, VOILA! Chaos ensues.

I encourage people to actually sit down and watch the whole first video. Even if you disagree 100% with them, look at how these students are acting to them.

Ah the good old twitter limiting  characters tweet. I’m not gonna defend it, I’m gonna explain whats wrong with it.
From someone who is constantly watching the tech news area, I understand what he’s trying to say. Granted the way he said it was probably not the best way to do it.
So, the Average internet speed in America is roughly 10-20 Mbps(Translate to about a MB and some change per second) What I assume he’s trying to point at is the fact that our ISP’s are literately holding internet speeds away from us. They are doing everything possible to limit internet speeds for no reason. Already have fiber laid down, good no need for fast speeds you get 10-20 if even that. We have companies here that will literately sell you up to 85 Mbps and when you go to actually use it you get 1-10 Mbps. I believe this is what he was trying to convey because it makes logical sense from inside the US.
Now the one part I have issue with (then again I have issue with him and the way his followers like to try to do math or comparisons) is the fact hes using a massive country’s internet speed to a small city’s internet speed. Small in regards to comparative size.
It’s just like with all his supporters who agree with every social thing he wants to implement and compares it to a country in Europe. Half the time the country that its being compared to has a significantly lower population number compared to the US.
Tumblr media
I’m laughing now. The way he said it makes it sound like he is pissed Romania has fast internet, not that the US has slower internet. It made me picture the US military coming to Romania and being like “Now dare you have fast internet. Take it down, now!”
My personal opinion as an American: I get that Americans want America to the be the best in the word but the way the world it can be insulting when talking about Romania. Like Americans don’t talk about nice things in Japan like it’s a bad thing, for example.

Look people jumping to conclusions to shit before they even know everything. Typical social media, did no one actually read the New York Daily news article that the person at the top has a link to. Probably not,
Most people are jumping in because they don’t understand a damn thing about how contracts work. There’s a reason the Judge denied it, because as it stands it’s still just an allegation against him.As far as I know, there wasn’t enough evidence shown that would have shown that she should be released from her contract.
The damage is already done to Dr. Luke, Sony is going to distance themselves from him and stand there ground. The allegation happened and it has done permanent damage to any possibility of furthering his career. All because of an allegation that has the possibility of being false. Now I’m not saying its false, but I’m simply stating the possibility of it being false.
See that’s the problem with rape allegations, the person who the allegation is against is always seems as guilty until proven innocent.
My main problem with this is the outcome that’s gonna happen. Lets say she does make it out of the contract, good for her, now good luck on getting another record label company. Granted you really don’t need one to make music, but the damage is done. Now lets say she doesn’t make it out of it at all, dumb people on social media are gonna jump the gun and immediately claim bullshit arguments against it all and blame the patriarchy or rape culture or some other bs they come up with.
