Get the keys from Ren!

That sounds like a good idea to you. You tell everyone you're going to visit Ren and head towards the medical bay. You knock on the door.

"Oh, come in! Keep your voice down though."

The pale girl is standing in front of one of the beds. A curtain has been drawn around it.

"Kaito hasn't woken up yet. I'm getting really worried. Have they gotten the doors open yet?"

You explain that the doors are still shut and ask if Ren has the key to the gym. She shakes her head.

"No, I can't find my keys. I would have opened the doors by now if I had them."

Damn it. You ask Ren if she has any idea where another gym key might be.

"...I'll be honest with you - I think someone stole my set of master keys. I used them to open up nurse’s office and then left them on a table here last night. When I came back from the kitchen a few hours ago they were gone."

You ask Ren who could have taken them. She gives you a pained look.

"I-I don't want to name names but...a few hours ago, Yukihiko said he saw Daiya storming out of here while I was in the kitchen. I-I didn't say anything...but I think she might have taken them. He said she was really angry. I suppose she wanted to get away from all of this and go into one of the locked rooms."

Locked rooms...which rooms are usually locked? The headmaster’s office and the staff room are typical no go zones. The rec room has been locked up after people spent too much time there and weren’t studying. The physics lab, the chemistry lab and the biology lab are all kept under lock and key as well. 

Looks like you've got some investigating to do.

We could always look for keys! Been living in this institution for long enough, so someone's gotta know where to find some.

Of course, keys! You ask the group if anyone has a set of keys for the school, or knows where they could be.

"Nope."

"I haven't been given any keys ever since that time I dared Joey to swallow one. He uh...he might still have it? Otherwise I'd say Daiya has a set, she is the class monitor."

"...I think Ren has a few keys, but I'm almost certain it's only for small rooms like the medical bay. She's in there at the moment keeping an eye on Kaito."

It looks like you have a few options to choose from.

Walk into your mother's awaiting arms.

Of course, she’s your mother. How could you be so silly? A smile grows on your face and you begin to walk over to her.

“That’s it my darling child, come to me.”

Even though it is garbled, you swear you’ve heard her voice before. How is that possible though? She’s been gone for such a long time. 

The metallic and floral scent grows stronger as you approach your mother. It’s a comforting, nostalgic smell. 

As you get closer, a great warmth overcomes your body. You’ve never experienced anything like this before. She is here to protect you. The closer you get, the safer you know you will be. 

You never have and never will love anyone like you love her. 

“Jin? Jin where are you?”

All of those emotions drain away the second you hear your father’s voice. Suddenly, you realise you are standing inches away from a towering shadow who smells like blood. 

It’s only after the figure disappears into the darkness that you start to scream. Your father quickly approaches you and tries to comfort you.

All you can do is scream. 

Okay, that was a really scary one. Time to go to your parents to have a big deep conversation about the dream and totally not get hugs and comfort. Teenagers do that, right? 

You get changed and exit your room, relieved to see that the lighting is back on in the hallway. It’s definitely daytime then. 

You knock on your parents’ door and wait. Huh, no answer. That’s...odd. Surely they aren’t still in the gym, right?

You wander into the school and see that a crowd has started to form outside the trophy room. 

“...”

Yuki is trying to kick the door open but it doesn’t budge. Sweat is dripping down his face.

You ask everyone what is going on.

“Aaaaall the adults are still in the gym! We looked everywhere, but they aren’t anywhere else! Yuki-ku- I mean, Yukihiko has been trying to get the door open all morning!”

“Something isn’t right. Shion and Haruhi were still with Ren this morning. Mom wouldn’t leave them for this long.” 

Yukihiko backs away from the door, his chest heaving up and down.

“We need to get this door open. Kaito is still in the medical bay. He hasn’t woken up yet.” 

“Jin, do you have any ideas on how we can get inside?”

You blink the sleep out of your eyes and start racking your brain for an answer. Maybe there is someone who can help you get into the gym?

You're just a tired baby.

You need rest too!

Get some sleep and see how things work out after that.

You are a very tired baby who very willingly collapses into bed. Tonight was perhaps a little too much for you. Your heart is still thumping in your chest from all of the stress. How many times did you nearly wet yourself tonight? You've honestly lost count.

The one thing that's giving you the most anxiety is the punishment you'll be getting tomorrow. Your parents will not be happy knowing you were out at night with the older teenagers. You can just imagine what your dad is going to say:

"Jin, you should know better than this by now. How can we trust you with bigger responsibilities when you can't follow the simple instructions we give you?"

They’ll be mad that you let your sister stay up late too. Hopefully you can remind them that if it wasn’t for her, Kaito could have died. Maybe. 

Damn it, now you’re thinking about that whole thing again. You can’t get those awful words out of your mind. 

“Despair is nigh! A head of fire meets crimson eyes! A witch awakens from her sleep and spirits away souls to reap.”

You desperately want to believe it was a result of Kaito’s seizure, but you can’t shake the feeling that this was a warning. You feel your eyelids grow heavy with sleep. As your thoughts become muddled and nonsensical, a final anxious thought crosses your mind. 

I thought they killed the Despair Witch years ago. 

... .... .....

You’ve been in the darkness for as long as you can remember. 

You cannot see anything.

Despite your lack of vision, you know you are truly alone. 

Your dad said he would be right back, where is he? You try to call out for him, but he doesn’t respond. Your tummy begins to twist and you hold Capy-san tighter. 

You can’t even remember why he went into the storage room in the first place. You should have gone with him, but you were too scared. 

There’s a shuffling sound behind you. Whipping around, you call out for your dad once more. 

That is not your dad. 

The broken figure shuffles towards you. You catch a whiff of lavender and rotting meat. A wet rattling noise echoes through the hallway. It’s a deep and primal sound, like a predator with a mouthful of blood. 

.Within the moist rasping, you swear you can make out a voice.

“My child...come to me...come home with me...”

PANIC! TIME TO PANIK!!! Alright, time to get the fucking adults!!!

A clear cut message zaps through your mind, jolting you out of your daze. You can’t just stand here and do nothing. You yell over the chaos that someone needs to get one of the adults, hoping that someone doesn’t have to be you. 

“No way, if we get caught, we’ll never be able to have one of these meetings again!”

“This is more important than any meeting! Kaito needs medical attention!”

Daiya sneers at Ren. “Aren’t you the first aid assistant? Why don’t you actually do something instead of crying?”

The blond girl darts her eyes to the ground, tears starting to fall down her cheeks. “I-I don’t know what’s wrong with him...”

Daiya scoffs. “Excellent, fan-fucking-tastic! Does anyone know what's happening to him?!”

“He isn’t waking up. I’m trying to hold him down but he won’t stop shaking.”

“Let him go and give him room to move.”

Everyone stops and turns to the sound of the voice. A small figure shuffles into view from the entrance to the garden.

“Kaito is having a seizure. Yukihiko, turn his head to the side to clear his airways. Give him a moment and the seizures should cease.”

Wordlessly, Yukihiko follows Naomi’s instructions. After a few moments, Kaito’s convulsing stops. His chest continues to slowly move up and down. The group’s collective tension begins to dissolve. 

“I-is Kaito-senpai gonna be okay?!”

Naomi gives a small nod. “It did not last long, so there should be no lasting damage. He’ll need to be given a check up once he awakens though.”

A triumphant smile grows on Daiya’s face.

“Okay, this is perfect, here’s the plan - me and the twins will take Kaito to the nurse’s office. While that’s going on, big guy will go get the adults. Tell them you heard Kaito screaming or something and then you found him on the ground and got us. The rest of you just need to go to your rooms and keep your mouths shut. Boom - we’re in the clear and we can keep coming up here. No one has a problem with this right?”

Daiya directs an icy glare at Ren.

The other girl hesitates for a moment before darting her eyes away. Daiya nods at the twins. They go to pick up the fallen boy but Yukihiko moves forward, blocking their path.

“I never agreed to be part of this. Stop being selfish and think about someone else for once in your life.”

“Selfish? I’m doing this for everyone’s sake! If the adults knew we were up here with Kaito like this, they’d never let us have another club meeting again! And then what? We’ll never have any privacy, so we’ll never be able to figure out a way to get out of here. Is that what you want? Do you want us to stay locked up in this school for the rest of your fucking life!?”

“Is that what the club was about. Daiya, there is nothing out there. Nothing. We can’t even breathe the air. The second you leave this school, you’ll be dead. There’s nothing more selfish than that.”

Everyone grows silent. Although this is all common knowledge to you, it still leaves you with a strange feeling of emptiness. Daiya glares down at her feet, clenching her hands into fists. 

Yukihiko turns and in a slow, deliberate movement, picks up Kaito in his arms. He walks out of the garden, leaving everyone else behind.

“F-fuck...”

Rubbing her eyes, Daiya races away, darting past Yukihiko and running down the stairs. 

“Babe, wait!”

Joey runs after Daiya. 

“Shit, this isn’t gonna end well. Hope you guys don’t get punished too hard.”

With that, Sid exits the garden.

“N-nooooooo I don’t wanna get in trouble!”

“I-I suppose we are up during curfew. We better be ready for anything. Come on, let’s get you all to bed. I can try to reason with the adults. No one here did anything wrong.”

You feel your sister take your hand. You glance down and notice that she has grown very sleepy. Leading her, you follow Ren down the stairs and back to the dorms. You’re having trouble focusing on any one thought, so you just space out until you reach your shared room.

After tucking your sister back into her futon, you stand still for a few moments, trying to unpack everything that happened tonight. Where should you even start? 

You give your bed a look of longing. Perhaps you should give yourself a break instead.

Ooohhh shiiiiiiiz!!! Frantically, Jin is gonna run over to Kaito and make sure the dude doesn’t pass out onto the cold hard ground.

"It-it hurts so much..."

You try to approach the shivering boy but you're quickly overtaken by Ren and Yukihiko. They stand on either side of them, attempting to get him to sit down.

"Kaito, Kaito can you hear me? He's not responding. Someone needs to get one of the adults up here now."

"No, wait!"

She points to the twins.

"Guys, go get him some water. He just needs to sit down for a few minutes. He'll be fine! We don't need to get anyone."

Yuki whips his head up and sends a piercing glare towards Daiya.

"Are you serious? Look at him, he needs-"

"DESPAIR!"

You jump at the unearthly shriek and turn to the source. 

Kaito begins to laugh. It’s a strange noise that sounded nothing like the boy’s usually cheerful tone. 

“Despair is nigh! A head of fire meets crimson eyes! A witch awakens from her sleep and spirits away souls to reap.”

Kaito’s voice sounds hollow, as if his body is being used as a vessel for something otherworldly.

“Their progenies fall to despair as she unleashes her Ultimate...”

Kaito suddenly stops mid-sentence, his eyes rolling back in his head as he collapses onto the ground, convulsing. For a split second, everyone remains frozen in place, and then all hell breaks loose.

“Kaito, Kaito can you hear me!?”

“W-we have to g-get someone...oh my God...oh my God...”

“No no no no! This can’t happen now! Why now!?”

“Holy shit, is he dying? What the hell is happening?”

“Waaaaaaaaaah!~ I’m scared!”

The chaos starts to fade away as you focus your gaze on Kaito’s spasming form. Soon, even that begins to blur. The only thing that remains are the words he spoke, replaying over and over in your mind.

:A witch awakens from her sleep to spirits away souls to reap.”

“A witch awakens from her sleep...”

“A witch...”

You’re suddenly thrust into a memory you thought was a nightmare. The smell of lavender. The feel of pyjamas that were far too big for your little body. A dark hallway. A tall figure with a bent neck and glowing, red eyes. 

You saw her. 

She was real. 

You’re drifting away now, spiralling into the darkness that threatens to engulf you forever.

… This DO be a Bruh moment! Even though it SHOULD BE Jin’s moral obligation to stand up for Ren, he really ain’t is he? Little baby— Little baby man!!! Alright, the least he can say is that he agrees with Kaito, yeah? Hopefully? Jin, please??? Pleeeeaaaassseeeee?????

...it is the right thing to do. You know it is. Poor Ren is getting ganged up on and you need to say something.

...but you don't. Of course you don't. Why would you? You clench your fists and bite the inside of your lip as Ren begins to stumble towards the door.

"Wait, Ren!" Daiya calls out.

The blonde girl freezes in place, her back to the group.

"Yes?" She replies softly, her voice almost inaudible.

"I like your new haircut, did your mom do that to you?"

Ren's entire body begins to shake. Covering her face, the girl burst into tears. Everyone stands in awkward silence as Ren's crying echoes through the garden.

You find yourself looking to Kaito, hoping he'll intervene in this terrible situation.

"Daiya, that's enough. Ren, don't listen to her."

He begins to move towards her only to stop mid-pace.

"I'm sorry-can anyone else hear that? What is that noise? That ringing noise? It's kind of freaking me out. It doesn't sound right."

You can't hear anything. From everyone's confused looks, it seems that they can't hear it either.

"Uh, I don't think any of us hear any ringing, bud."

"Kaito, are you okay?"

The distressed teenager shook his head. He opens and closes his mouth a few times, his brow furrowing.

"Guys...I think something's wrong."

Just give in and let your dignity fly out the window

Wow, you’re really giving up that easily, huh? Well, you’re pretty sure there’s no use struggling. You can already see Daiya and Joey creeping on either side of you. There’s no way they’re going to let you go until Sid has scribbled something terrible onto your face.

You feel the tip of the permanent marker scratch the side of your cheek when there’s a sudden rustle in the bushes behind you. Everyone freezes in place.

“Shit, there’s someone else here.”

Your stomach drops. It must be one of the adults. You’re going to get in so much trouble. Sid takes a few big steps away from you, concealing the marker in one of his pockets. 

You all wait for one of your parents to come barrelling out of the shrubbery, but nobody appears. 

The bushes stop shaking. Something isn’t right.

“...maybe someone should go check what it is?”

Almost everyone’s eyes fall onto the tallest and strongest person in the group.

Yukihiko reluctantly agrees. He still seems to be a little flustered from whatever was going on before you rocked up. 

The bulky teenager approaches the bushes. He spies someone among the leaves and his eyes narrow. 

“Get out.” He growls. 

The bush begins to tremble and suddenly someone leaps out. 

“Please don’t hurt me - I’m sorry! I just...I was just wondering what was going on up here.”

“Does anyone else hear anything? All I can hear is the whining of an annoying little insect who doesn’t know how to mind her own goddamn business.”

Ren cowers as she is met with several icy cold glares. Tears start to run down her cheeks and she begins to apologise over and over again. Kaito tilts his head to the side and moves towards the crying girl.

“Come on Daiya, that’s not fair.”

“What, it’s not fair that I don’t want this snitch to be here? You know she’s going to tell someone about this. Jin, did you invite her? Nice work, idiot.”

You stammer, trying to find something to say only to be interrupted by Ren.

“I can leave.” She murmured. “I’m sorry, I promise I won’t tell a soul.”

“You better not, we’ve got a good thing going here. We can’t have you Renning up the place, y’know.”

“It’s rude to come to a party you’re not invited to, Ren-chan.”

You feel your heart sink in your chest. Kaito’s right, this doesn’t seem fair at all. You know the right thing would be to stand up for her, but you’re also worried you’ll get kicked out of the club if you do so. Why are you being forced to make so many difficult choices tonight?

Go back upstairs and face the music.

Let's face it - you've messed up. You may as well man up and face the horrific punishment you're going to receive from not completing your dare. You tell the girls that you're going back upstairs.

Your sister is not pleased. You make her promise not to tell your parents about this. She lets out a small sigh and nods.

"You better not complain about being tired tomorrow." She mutters. "This is your own fault."

With that, she turns and walks back to the dormitories.

"Nehehe~ She acts like she's your mom! That's so cute~."

You blush and quickly enter the cafeteria. The two of you go through the kitchen, gathering armfuls of snacks and treats. Once you're suitably snacked up, you exit the cafeteria.

"Is that everything?" Lolita asks.

You suddenly remember the bear. Carefully placing the snacks down, you pull the bear out and show it to the bright-haired girl.

“AHHHHH it’s so kyute~! Is this for me, Jin-chan? Ehehe thank you, that’s so sweet of you~” 

You stammer and shake your head, explaining that you found it in your bathroom. You ask her if the bear belongs to her. 

“Jin-chaaaan, you should have said that before! Geez...no, it isn’t mine.”

She gives you back the bear with a sulky look on her face. Sheesh, this bear almost feels cursed. You gather the snacks back up and follow Lolita back into the school. 

You ascend the stairs and eventually make your way back to the top floor. Entering the rooftop garden, you catch the end of a conversation. 

“Oh, that’s um...very specific? I don’t know, maybe 2 or 3? It depends on how big they are.”

“Heh, I knew it.”

The two of you approach the group and everyone turns to face you. Sid approaches you, a devious smile growing on his face. You notice that he has a black permanent marker in his hand.

“Hey Jin, are you ready for your punishment?”

He notices your confused expression and glances at the pen in his hand.

“Oh, this? I’m too lazy to go back downstairs for all that other stuff, so I figured we could just mess up your face a little. No hard feelings, right?”

 Sid approaches you, waving the pen uncomfortably close to your face.

“Hold still, I want to get the angle juuuuuust right.”

It’s time to take your punishment like a man...or y’know, you could try to make a break for it and preserve the little dignity you have left.

You push the coin into the gacha machine's slot and listen to the containers clink about. Something is magically ejected from the opening.

Hairband – A plain hairband to keep your hair out of your eyes.

This is...pretty disappointing. How could such an interesting machine give you such a boring prize? You're pretty sure you know someone who might like it though.

Speak of the devil!

"Jin-chan!" Lolita called, waving her hand about. "I found Naomi!"

You approach your little sister, getting ready to tell her off for leaving your room so late at night.

“Jin, I’ve been looking everywhere for you. You are out of bed far past your bedtime. You’re going to be very tired tomorrow.”

Great, you should have expected this. You hear Lolita snicker behind you and feel your face redden slightly. You remind your sister that only a few hours ago you had both been raiding the kitchen pantry. Technically that means she has also broken your parents’ curfew. Let’s see how the child genius wiggles her way out of this. 

“...sustenance is important for growing bodies and minds.”

You tell your sister that BBQ chips don’t count as sustenance. She continues to avoid your gaze and you’re almost sure you can see crumbs on her lips. 

Nasty little gremlin. 

“Heyyyyy Jin-chan, are you still coming upstairs? I just need to grab some snacks and we can go back to the others!”

Your sister gives you a disapproving stare. Uh oh, looks like it’s time to make another fun and totally not stress free decision. Go upstairs and get punished, or follow your sister and continue being a loser. 

This is just going to be your life now, huh.

You've done enough damage, time to skedaddle!

You give some sort of stammering apology to Ren before scurrying off to your room like the sad little boy you are. Hopefully she will be okay. The moment you enter your bedroom, you realise something is wrong.

Naomi is gone. You knock on the bathroom door and open it, confirming she is not in there either. You hold back a groan. Where could she have run off to?

Your first thought is the cafeteria. She does have an obsession with those BBQ chips. Despite this fairly sound logic, you feel the hairs on your neck begin to prickle.

Why does everything feel so weird tonight? Is it because there aren't any adults around? No...it’s not from lack of supervision, it’s the opposite. You feel as though you’re being watched everywhere you go. 

You really want to find your little sister now.

You quickly change into a fresh pair of clothes and exit your bedroom. The hallway is empty. Ren must have gone back to her room. As you slowly make your way towards the cafeteria, you find someone standing out the front of it.

“Hey Jin-chan! Come check this out!”

You wander over to Lolita and see she is inspecting what looks to be a gacha machine. 

“This is so cool! How the heck did it end up here?” She says excitedly, her eyes lighting up. 

Unlike the bouncing girl, you feel unnerved by the sudden appearance of this machine. You’ve never seen it before, and you’re certain it wasn’t here when Daiya brought you to the school. Did one of the adults drag it out here?

Pushing that thought into the back of your mind, you ask Lolita if she’s seen Naomi.

“Big fat nope. The only person I’ve seen is Yuki-kun. He looked really mad when he was going back up the stairs, what happened?”

You explain everything that occurred with Ren and the second floor of the dormitories. Lolita goes quiet for a few moments. “Soooo what you’re saying is...”

“Jin-chan didn’t complete his daaaaaare~ Ohohoh, when I finish getting everyone’s snacks, you are gonna be soooo punished~”

The pink-haired girl spins about enthusiastically before skipping into the cafeteria, a devious giggle echoing after her. You can’t help but sigh. After everything you told her, that was what she focused on?

As you go to follow her, you notice something shining on the ground. You bend down and pick it up. 

That’s...weird. It’s a coin, you think. You don’t remember learning about this type of coin during class. It doesn’t look like yen, or any sort of foreign currency. Is it play money? 

You find yourself eyeing the gacha machine. You’ve never used one before. It’s not that hard, right? You just put the coin in the slot and turn the handle. Who knows, maybe you’ll find something nice to give to Naomi once you eventually find her. (OOC Note: Choose a number from 1 to 55 and send it through via ask or PM)

Hey. You wanna know what would be the ultimate sigma-alpha fusion male move? Just stay down there with Ren and catch up... Big guy can go take a hike!

That...is actually a decent idea. You're more than happy to ditch Daiya and her stupid club shenanigans and spend time with Ren, who seems to have been purposely left out by her. Sure, Sid might try to force you to do that awful punishment, but he can't make you do it. You can just threaten to tattle on them and they'll stop bugging you. They'll tease you for it later, but hey, you're already a loser so it doesn’t really matter anyway.

You tell Ren that you want to hang out with her for a bit, preferably not in the darkness, though.

"O-oh, really? Are you sure? You don't have to if you don't want to, I'm okay, honest." You insist that you want to before turning to Yukihiko. You're definitely not brave enough to tell him to take a hike so you end up kind of stumbling over your words.

He seems to get the point though. Yukihiko shakes his head and grumbles something unintelligible under his breath before making his way down the stairs. You and Ren follow him and watch as he walks back towards the school.

“O-oh! Yukihiko, can you let Kaito know that I’ve proofread his report? I’ll slip it under your door sometime tomorrow morning.”

The white haired teenager pauses. He turns and leers at Ren for a few moments before giving a sharp nod and briskly pacing away. The hunched girl lets out a shaky sigh and brings her gaze to the floor. 

This is getting kind of painful. You ask Ren if it’s okay if you hang out in her room since your sister is still asleep. She frowns.

“Oh, Haruhi and Shion are sleeping in my room. I’d rather not disturb them if I could.”

Great, this isn’t really going as well as you thought it would. Maybe you should have just gone back to the others with Yukihiko. Oh well, conversing in the hall is at least better than being on the floor populated by a psycho murderer.

As you try to think of an interesting topic to discuss, an idea pops into your head.

You almost forgot about that stupid little bear you found. You should have asked Yukihiko about it - oh well, there’s always next time. Taking the bear out of the pocket of your pyjamas, you tell Ren that you found this in your room and ask if it belongs to her.

“Oh, what a cute bear! It looks hand made, but I’m pretty sure it’s not one of mine. Is it okay if I have a look at it?”

You hand the bear over to Ren and she examines it carefully. 

“It’s definitely not one of mine - it’s too well made. Look at that hand-stitching, it’s flawless! This material is really high-quality too! Whoever made this did a fantastic job with it. Oh? There’s a tag on it, what does it sa-”

Ren gives the bear back to you with shaking hands, her eyes glazed over. Her line of sight is aimed directly at the second floor of the dormitories. 

...oh dear, looks like you’re not the only one who’s been served a fresh heaping of trauma tonight. You want comfort Ren over whatever triggers that bear set off, but you’re also afraid you might slip up and just upset her even more. Maybe you should just call it quits and run back to your room. She’ll be fine...eventually.

Use your nervous energy and try throwing a punch at whatever is in the dark.

With a surprising burst of fight or flight energy, you attempt to throw a punch at your attacker. Not only do you completely miss, you end up crashing to the ground whilst letting out a squeaking cry. You hear the running figure come to a sudden halt in front of you.

Grimacing in pain, you glance up and recognise the figure.

"Jin? Jin, is that you? Oh my God, I'm so sorry! I-I thought..."

You hear the sound of something heavy and ungraceful crash up the stairs behind you. You turn your head.

Yukihiko pounces in front of you, pulling one of his fists back. He stops abruptly when he realises who it is. He looks from you to the trembling girl and the long pipe in her hand.

"Oh...oh! No! I didn't hurt him! I-I thought there was someone here with me, so I found this and...I-I didn't realise...I would never...why would you think I would...Jin, are you okay? Here..."

She drops the pipe and holds her hand out to you. You take her cold, clammy hand and stand up onto your feet. Your knees still feel shaky from the adrenaline rushing through you.

You ask Ren why she's on the second floor of the dormitory in the middle of the night.

"I heard a bang, like a door slamming, but much louder. Thankfully none of the little ones woke up from it.

I checked all the bedrooms but no one answered my knocks, and since all the adults are still in the gymnasium I figured she must have wanted something. She does make an awful racket up here when she's...not in her right mind."

Anyway, I came up here and tried to talk to her but she didn't reply to me, so I went to leave. I heard Jin, and thought...well, I guess I wasn't really thinking. I am really sorry Jin. I didn't mean to scare you.

Why on Earth are you both here?"

Without really thinking, you mention that you were sent here by the others as part of a truth or dare game.

"...oh. I guess that explains why no one answered the doors before. I'll let you both get back to it then. Don't worry, I won't tell any of the adults."

You feel kind of bad for leaving Ren like this. You could bring her along, or maybe it would be for the best to let her do her own thing.
