The fact a lot of Rini’s were low key Ricky/Lily shippers is INSANE. You cannot tell me their distaste for Gina wasn’t racism because how do you even watch S3/S4 and still think Ricky/Lily were giving anything comparable is peak delusion.

Rini shippers are a bunch of weirdos and you’ll never convince me their distaste over Gina and Rina wasn’t fueled by racism and a parasocial relationship with the actors. They just wanted Gina to stay in her lane as the side black character over Nini and just convinced themselves that Gina was pinning alone and her feelings weren’t reciprocated because “Ricky couldn’t possibly have a crush on her too!”

And then they showed their true colors by just contradicting themselves because apparently “Ricky doesn’t need a relationship. He needs teraphy!” but it was pretty much thrown over the window the moment Lily presented herself as a possible love interest because as long as Gina isn’t with Ricky — they’ll support Lily, the blonde blue eyed who provoked him an injury to win a competition and has been manipulative.

And the fact Rinis never treated Lily in some particular way despite her intentionally creating conflict in his relationship with Nini to get him is very telling — because 2A Gina was catching home wrecked insults simply by speaking to Ricky while being respectful of his relationship.

And the funny thing is — Lily was just supposed to be a Gina 2.0. Like, it was so obvious it was painful. And she would only further Ricky and Gina’s relationship the same way EJ did. Like, it wasn’t going to end on Lily becoming a “better” person for Ricky and becoming his endgame. And thinking this story had a “better potential” than Rina’s beautifully crafted arc is delusion. They’ll forever be bitter that the show didn’t end the way they wanted and I’m very glad!

i do think that we need to talk about like. rikki saving zane from the shark attack, watching him get humiliated by lewis's film and then comforting him by calling him brave after. and like. zane finding rikki during her lunar madness on mako and comforting her when the whole jungle was on fire and she was highkey having a breakdown. they truly BOTH saw one another in their most vulnerable moments before anything romantic even happened between them. i need to lie down

i am once again going insane about tiny zikki moments from mostly unrelated episodes. today’s installment is their moments in 2x24 ‘three’s company’

let’s talk about the moment he finds her on the beach and calls out 'hey stranger!!’ and she immediately gives him this familiar and fond smile. he wants to hang and she’s trying to be all cold and distant but you can tell she is so happy to see him like when he offers to take her to the movies and holds her hands and does the little thumb-rub thing not once but TWICE tumblr user hoziersgf found deceased she can’t stop smiling even though you can tell she doesn’t want to be. then rikki is like 'some other day okay’ and kisses his cheek and it is undisputably adorable and he just. leaves her to it. lets her have her space even though he misses his gf because he knows she’s going through it with mermaid shenanigans and respects her boundaries season one zane would NEVER

also litch really wrote an entire post about this one (1) exchange but to recap when rikki goes to see zane after taking a step back from the girls and he 1. grins at her like she hung the moon and 2. instantly clocks she’s had a fight with the girls since he knows both her AND her friends sooooooo well plus they have a cute little kiss they are in love your honour

we as a society NEED to talk about the moment they’re strolling down the beach with their arms around each other teasing each other and zane is like i’m better company than your friends and rikki is like ‘it’s debatable’ and they both just laugh like they’re so happy and comfy around each other just. doing nothing. plus they are both clearly so mad when emma and cleo interrupt their kiss. can we also talk about the little moment when they say they need to talk to rikki and he patiently waits for her to come back. when she goes back to him her expression instantaneously turns from sour to totally happy and relaxed she’s all ‘where were we’ and he’s like ‘kissing’ and puts his arm around her again and kisses her on the cheek and they laugh together AGAIN. they are disgusting i literally hate them so much.

can’t not comment on the other beach scene where rikki is clearly a little restless after excluding herself from the group and zane instantly knows what’s wrong and suggests they go to lewis’s party. then when she shoots him down immediately he is like 'you don’t have to let charlotte win you can go back (to the group) whenever you want’ and rikki looks all thoughtful and introspective because she hadn’t considered that before. i am the furthest thing from a charlotte hater but in this moment zane reminds her who she is, that she won’t let people walk all over, that she’s rikki chadwick and she won’t be the loser to someone else’s winner. zane truly knows her so well that, by simply being there, he never lets her forget who she is. *screams for one thousand years*

i am thinking about the little moment when they’re sitting sipping their juices at the juicenet being both adorable and iconic when ash calls rikki. for a sec she meets zane’s eye and is like 'hi ash how’s the party 😉’ because she knows charlotte has probably done a piss poor job throwing a party for lewis sorry charlotte baby i love you dearly but that was a certified mess <3 and wants zane to be included in the joke. when she hangs up she’s like 'cleo and emma have left lewis’s party’ and immediately zane matches her tone like 'that’s not like them’ just as concerned as her. not only does my guy know rikki chadwick like the back of his hand he knows her friends too!!!! immediately she’s like 'exactly’ and they rush off together to see what’s going on because they are a team and it’s fine i’m fine i’ll be fine

plus when they’re outside charlotte’s pool room when ash is trying to burst in on cleo and emma and zane is the one to get him to leave them alone when rikki can’t like he leads him away saying it’s ‘secret women’s business’ or what have you. king shit. i also personally think that zane was at least a little bit involved in putting the party boat together for lewis since you can see him checking his watch and staring at the water as if waiting for something right before it gets there i am connecting the dots etc.

anyway in conclusion i believe in zikki supremacy <33

I’d really enjoy reading this

season 1 AU where Zane’s interest in local ocean mythology leads him to Max Hamilton—maybe Max is mentioned in an old article or something. Max, is at first justifiably wary of Zane. But Zane is nothing if not persistent, and desperate for the truth about what happened to him, and eventually, after weeks of needling, Max caves. He tells Zane about the 50s mermaids, and Mako, and the Moon Pool. But he also says that as far as he knows, there haven’t been mermaids on the Gold Coast in years. So, the next full moon, Zane finds the Moon Pool. To his disappointment there are no mermaids in the pool. But it does bubble with magic, and he is so intrigued that he reaches out to touch it—and falls in.

And suddenly the guy who kept insisting mermaids were real does a hard 180 and begins insisting the opposite. In secret he still works on his research, because he’s sure there must be others like him. But somehow he and the girls always just miss each other at Mako. Emma and Rikki have caught a couple glimpses of his tail, but it’s blue, so they’re not sure what to make of it. (Emma probably refuses to admit it’s anything more than a really big fish).

Cue the return of Dr. Denman, but this time Zane is caught in the Moon Pool (she doesn’t tell Harrison the truth about the merman she caught) and the others have to help him escape. When he asks why they helped, they reveal their shared secret, and tell him the eclipse thing. Rikki and Zane don’t have to break up. Lewis is extremely salty that Zane gets to be a mermaid and he doesn’t.

I may not be realistically sure about SydCarmy happening, but here’s my piece… Carmy was always pushed by his family to do things. His life ran by their decisions. While he loved cooking, the desire to become a renowned chef was quite out of spite.

He dated Claire, but only because his family pushed it. It even came to a point where they gave Claire the “Bear” by branding her “Claire bear”. This was never Carmy’s doing. It was all his family. But where do we exactly see Carmy practice his agency? With Syd.

In a world full of choices made for him, Carmy chose Syd. He chose her to stage. He chose her to be retained in a room full of employees chosen for him. He chose her to be his CDC. But most importantly, he chose to give her The Bear. Not his family. Him.

Carmy’s family gave Claire the bear, but Carmy gave Sydney The Bear.

The reason why I say Claire meeting Syd was a setup. It's because it challenges everything we know about these three people's relationship. Why would Carmy react that way to Syd leaving right after he asked everyone to leave? Carmen thought he could ditch Claire on Syd, lmfao, I will stick on it, that's why he got taken back that her reaction was to leave him alone with her. To let him handle it. It was a set up, inconscient or not.

We talk about Carmen's fear of Sydney leaving but in their post they dabble in Syd's fear of Carmen rejecting her admiration. I think it's fascinating we see Syd show admiration for Carmen's career in his apartment, about his whites and he gets her Thom chef's coat.  I feel in a way, it reassured her that their love of cooking could be shared and her enthusiasm is seen as her eagerness being satisfied instead of pushed down. So when he ditched her, I think that really triggered something. - It's an orange because I want to get back to that

Is this the reaction you were excepting? What the interesting from Richie meant? Why did Claire make that face?- it felt like a secret girl exchange. If I was Claire, I would question ''This is Claire, introduction'' . The rest of the Ber' knows her, Syd doesn't know her, and that presentation doesn't even explain who she is. @chefkids gif: What was that face?

Look at their colors, the way the scene is shot. The awkwardness emitting from Carmy, like caught in a lie. Claire's stance reminds me of a teenager girl caught with her boyfriend wanting to do the hoopla and realizing there's people home so they will have to wait. The Bear was treated in the scene like it's in the middle and not the other way around.
