OSDD culture is never learning official roles but calling 5+ alters "babysitters" because all they do is make sure you're taking care of yourself and the body
roles are hardly official anyways. make up your own words! have no words! whatever works for you 👌

not a culture submission but a question for everyone; is it normal to have alters whose appearance radically changes; like they have two seperate appearances and if I didn't know any better I'd think they're two seperate people but no. theyre just one guy who with two looks that are radically different.
I dont see why not. your image of how someone looks is changeable, these are people your brain made up and it can change how they look at any time, or maybe give them symbolic reason to shape-shift. parts can change how they look on an intentional basis, as well. there are probably a multitude of reasons a part might show themselves with two different appearances.
input?

For this ask
That doesnt describe exactly how I feel myself but I've had similar experiences, and I've heard other systems describe that feeling.
I definitelyyyy relate to suddenly things make sense, context brings clarity to things that were always there, just didnt have a way of defining it
thanks for ur input!

Did culture is feeling so goddamn weird when there's too much passive influence. Stop making me feel and think things that aren't part of my usual self identity or whatever. Pls.

DID culture is getting in trouble with your parents for constantly acting “different” and forgetting things.

Realizing you have amnesia about your amnesia so all this time we thought we were an OSDD1b system we were actually DID. And it’s scary

DID culture is having celiac disease and one of the alters deciding to “risk it” for a snack they’ve been wanting, despite the product being potentially cross-contaminated. What a surprise, the risk was not worth it, and now I, who had no input whatsoever in this decision, must suffer for it.

Thinking your memory is great until the doctor asks how long has _ been happening. Idk could be a few days or a few years it would feel the same to me doc. But let me try to do some memory calculus

hey, uh, are fictive and factive things that will get your ask deleted? ive hear people say that those are endo terms but theyre really a great way for us to talk about our introjects and im genuinly not sure. thank you! /genq
nope! I think you're right about them being endo terms, but they don't seem to be doing any harm. I only try to avoid the ones that seem intentionally derogatory. I personally use the full words. I will say that I don't see much of a point in differentiating between introject sources as the mechanism is still the same. I don't think it's necessarily bad, especially for those with multiple introjects who might find specifying to help organize information.
if I receive compelling evidence that fictive and factive are materially harmful, I may change my mind, but at this time I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other on those particular terms
also semi unrelated: please don't anyone think it is a threat when I say asks may be deleted! this isn't to make anyone feel bad or to punish people for sending the wrong type of ask. I'm not going to block you or anything for benign things. I only am so firm when I talk about it to deter those who would abuse my ask box for silly reasons. sometimes good, otherwise publishable asks will be deleted or postponed for simple things like having too many asks saying similar things at once, or I just didn't understand what you were saying and played it safe.

DID culture is going through a stressful day, making it through semi ok and not switching much, but then not respecting your own limits and continuously pushing ahead until you end up in a social situation all blurry and fucked up and having to hide out in the bathroom while you're rapid switching (bonus points for every other part being mad that you didn't go home earlier and it came to this at all)
