god I am always thinking about how moist von lipwig fundamentally does not think himself as a real person. he's not a real person, and so none of his actions have consequences. until he is forced to be a real person and deal with the consequences of his actions (adorabelle) like. it's even in the name. lipwig is a fake mustache. he's not real he's just a character. he's always playing a character. what do you mean his actions have real consequences. he's not real. until he is.

Can we talk real quick about how beautiful Leonard and Vetinari’s friendship is thematically speaking? Like, we have a dude who’s whole deal is believing that the world is inherently evil, who’s friends with this other guy that almost sees it as his responsibility as a living thing to be unconditionally in love with the world. I’d also argue that this may be slightly present with Sybil, and possibly Carrot. Vetinari just likes people who can make him believe, even briefly, that his ‘the world is inherently evil’ philosophy is false.

"May the road rise up to meet your feet" actually is a discworld quote, in addition to being a real phrase, at least I think it is. Granny Weatherwax has said it at least once. Although she says "Blessings be upon this house" more often, so maybe I should have said "Blessings be upon this blog"

Y’know an awful lot of Terry Pratchett’s books are concerned with how powerful women are when they get angry and how important anger is as a driving force to defend what is right and to tackle injustice. 

A lot of his most interesting and most deeply moral characters are angry ones. Granny Weatherwax, Sam Vimes, Tiffany Aching. All are to a large extent driven to do good by anger.

And that honestly means a lot to me.
