As a chronic Fenris-mancer, and as a chronic elf boyfriend liker in general, and as someone who romanced Dorian at first opportunity because the egg refused to be my boyfriend, it's really interesting to watch the drama that's surrounded the latest Elf Boyfriend of the internet and his potential storyline.

I find there's a lot of similarity between the way Fenris's vs Astarion's stories play out, as well as the way Dorian's and Astarion's play out, with the biggest differences being their specific personalities more than anything else.

But these personality differences cause wildly different interpretations among fans, even though all of them are specifically stories of breaking free from a cycle of serious abuse and trauma and one that's cost these characters the majority of their lives and a ridiculous amount of issues with intimacy and sexuality.

For the BG3 character development questions:

1: (Where in the Faerûn is your Tav from?) - 18: (What would your Tav be doing if they weren't kidnapped on the Nautiloid?) - 25: (What arcana major best represents your Tav?)

1: Technically in-game he's from Baldur's Gate, but only because I couldn't figure out how to make it "random ass unimportant monastery in the middle of nowhere dedicated to the God of punching things", which is the actual correct answer.

18: Likely still traveling on his path. Maybe if he was one of the few not-infected, he would be noticing that Something Is Wrong and start heading to the nearest monastery to warn them and see if he can ride out the storm there. He is, after all, fairly big and can punch pretty hard so it's not like he's not an asset if things come to a battle. And I don't think he's ever seen a mindflayer before so it's not like he'd understand just how bad things are going to get.

25: OK so I had to look up what that was which should tell you how much I don't know anything about tarot, so I'm going to give answers based on a brief skim of what these cards mean.

10: Are they proficient in playing any instruments?

Lmao, no. But he does enjoy listening to music, unlike a certain party member who is an active hater of non-proficient playing. He feels that music is a great way to meditate and learn how to control your mental state, so he's overall very receptive to people trying to play even if it sounds like garbage. If he hears Wyll booing because someone's playing poorly near him, he'd just smile through the wince at the worst notes and say something like "no one is good at something the first time, but it's important to continue in order to improve". Meanwhile he's thinking how nice it is that he can usually find a quiet spot to meditate where he does not have to hear the racket.

27: What was their life like before the events of BG3?

Panic was mostly just wandering around seeking enlightenment and also good hallucinogenic material to meditate with when he was plucked from his campsite and gained a brainworm. In my actual game I couldn't figure out how to make this as my origin so I just said he was from Baldur's Gate itself, but he's actually from some nowhere monastery dedicated to Irori [who doesn't exist in 5e bc he's a Pathfinder diety shh dw about it, Panic's a 2e unchained monk I have to fudge some things to make him work in 5e] and don't have too terrible of a backstory.

Panic showed up one day outside the gates as an infant and the monks there took him in. Maybe out of charity. Maybe to prove that despite being a tiefling, he too could find balance and achieve perfection. Either way, he grew up there and left at about 40ish years old as he was a youngish adult and it was time for him to walk his path and begin his pilgrimage. He has fond memories of the monks who raised him, he was not cast out and the monastery still exists. It was simply time for him to leave the nest.

Mostly he was walking from place to place earning food and supplies and a small amount of money by doing odd jobs at villages and encampments he happened upon. Occasionally by punching bandits and unsavory characters to death. He's been on the path for a while, maybe a decade or two. I think he's about 60 when BG3 happens.
