I’ve been dabbling in MCU-Spiderman fanfic recently. If anyone’s interested, this fic grabs and runs with MJ’s offhand comment in Homecoming that Peter’s quit marching band, but after the battle with Thanos and before Far From Home, Peter does in fact go to band camp.

“How to Win Friends, Crash Cymbals, and Fail at Asking Her Out” Summary:  “ ‘Pete, look, you’re sixteen, you gotta get back to normal life. You’ve earned it. You saved the world!” Dr. Banner insists. “Go do something with this summer. Tony...Tony would want that.’

“ ‘Yeah, I just don’t wanna know what he’d say about me going to band camp,” Peter protests. And, it’s, he means, it’s not like he doesn’t want to go; it was really fun when he was a freshman and the summer before sophomore year. But somehow, crashing a set of the school’s cymbals around in time seems kinda silly after meeting a metric heck-ton of aliens, flying around on that lady’s winged horse, and going to a literal ‘nother planet.’ Except this one time, at band camp, it did kinda turn into a mission.”

Okay but honestly fucking shit like this when they show Zuko’s scar side when talking about Sozin and then having the bar pass and have his non-scar side when Iroh says Roku is his great grandfather if EXACTLY the kind of shit that elevates this show to where really no other show has ever come and probably never will

Ok but Zuko using the knowledge he acquired during his banishment to help him as the Fire Lord. Like making small talk with Earth Kingdom dignitaries about their local foods that he enjoyed and even misses. Like having in-depth conversations with his captains about sea currents and navigation. Like, in the middle of a meeting with several high-ranking naval officials, pointing out flails in security, like how a person can cling to a Fire Nation ship for hours at a time, or climb aboard using hatches on the upper decks, or disguise themselves as a lower ranking guard with easily accessible spare armour….

Though none of his experiences can prepare Zuko for the long, awkward silence that comes after he admits to doing or at least knowing something illegal and/or completely buck wild
