Antique New England Farmhouse: Bedroom 3
This is another bedroom on the 2nd floor, with another antique brick fireplace, 3 bright windows overlooking the front yard and the side driveway. The antique floor was repainted. The original posts in the corners were covered at some point, most likely in the 1800s, but they are still there, standing strong like they were put in yesterday. A generously sized closet and an open, built in set of shelves is also present. The doors are antique and the antique hardware restored, while the windows, albeit with a very traditional look and style, are recent replacement, with the antique and drafty windows with a low insulation factor for todays standards, are gone.

Antique New England Farmhouse: Bedroom
The brightest room in the house is this large bedroom, size unusual for antique homes, with brick fireplace and closet. The waxed, antique floor of wide planks, was to counterbalance the large amount of natural light coming through 3 windows looking towards South/South/East.
Around the corner is, conveniently located, the 2nd floor full bathroom which was accessible directly from this room, in the old days. Restoring the old door would be easy and would make this bedroom, just like the below office room/1st floor bedroom, en-suite.

Home Office in Antique Farmhouse
With many rooms and spaces, there's an obvious one for a home office in one of the two front rooms, overlooking the porch and the side yard.
It boasts a beautiful antique hardwood floor and it's directly accessible through the glazed door from the outside through the front door. That allows any work guests of the home office to not have to wander around the other rooms and spaces of the house and directly enter the office.
One of the 7 brick fireplaces is also present, and on either side are a closet and a room that is carved out of the space from within the stack, to reveal a space that looks like the ideal wine room. Both are accessible through antique doors with gilded screening panels with a beautiful design. 3 updated windows provide plenty of natural light, with one facing South East, two South West, covering most of the daylight.
The 1st floor bathroom is just around the corner, for great convenience. This proximity allows this room to be easily used as a 1st floor bedroom, en-suite if the antique opening that is now simply walled, is restored.
High Speed internet is cabled into this room.
Staged as an office, because who doesn't need or want one nowadays, especially after the effects of the pandemic, it is a very flexible room with lots of options for the homebuyer to choose from.

Play Time in an Antique New England Farmhouse
Off the living room, is this flexible area set up as a play-area, for the kids or the grown ups, it's a space defined by traces in the original floor and wainscoting, of an antique divider wall. This area is beautifully decorated by exposed posts that appear to have been standing strong since the 1700s. They look like they could stand for many many generations more! With natural light coming from the West, it's the perfect setting for a late afternoon game of chess or board-game, just before dinner in the next room through the french doors.

Antique Farmhouse Kitchen
When a home is time travel to the 1700s and it starts in the 1950s when they built this kitchen in the antique farmhouse style, including antique beams. With vaulted ceilings and skylights, this kitchen enjoys different and exciting lighting throughout the days and the seasons in a rare way.

Main Living Room
The present main living area is also the original main living area. The presence of the main fireplace tells us that this is where for over 2 centuries, families would hang out in front (or side, using a tool to reflect and concentrate the heat), but they would also cook and more. Nowadays it's a great place to gather, with easy access to all areas of the 1st floor through historic or french doors, including the antique, yet modernized and carefully renovated bathroom and the patio, through a sliding door that brings in so much natural light. The floors are original, antique wood, brick working fireplace with oven is an awesome focal point of the room, original structural posts are exposed and ceiling is unusually high for a house of this age. A must see to get the feeling of history and antique family life, while enjoying all the more modern amenities.

In-ground Swimming Pool Closure
It was a little sad today, seeing the pool being closed for the season.
It was great to enjoy it last Summer during our renovation/restoration project. 36x18 with extra depth for the diving board.
It's a great focal point both visually and for entertainment, but I loved being able to enjoy it with family and friends, and also to get relief from the sweltering heat of last Summer! Remember how hot it was?
I'm pretty sure it kept us going and now we can sell our Antique Farmhouse and Equestrian property at 968 Plymouth St, East Bridgewater, MA, 02333.

A 300 years old home doesn't have to be an unlivable museum or a highly impractical home, we're not in the 1700s anymore and nobody can even imagine living like they did back then...and we're not in the 1950s or 1980s either, so we added & tied in with the never tiring charm and character of an antique farmhouse (and #equestrianproperty), feel good, modern features for proper life in 2022...

Antique Farmhouse
That's what it was, we just upgraded it and updated it to modern standards, but it is a 300 years old farmhouse with many great and elegant touches that make it a rare gem in the landscape of antique home restorations and renovations, even in historical Massachusetts (South Shore).

For Sale: Antique Farmhouse in Massachusetts
... a Farmhouse it is! An AntiqueFarmhouse with carefully restored & preserved features that make it unique & precious...because the character of a home with a soul comes from a renovation done with heart & passion...
In this home you see a consistent theme of an elegant farmhouse that was built approx 300 years ago, when America wasn't America just yet and there was no internet to post about it!
Centuries later, it's still standing strong, and I wonder how many homes get to live a longer life and witness such great events like the birth of the greatest country in the world!
