I've uploaded the first 11 seasons of Red vs Blue (in the complete episode format, compiling all episodes of each season into season-wide features) to this drive so it can safely be watched for free at any time, since I worry that we will soon no longer easily have access to the show in light of recent events. I'm working towards finding and downloading seasons 12-15 as well
Edit: I've uploaded season 12/13 and am working on 14 & 15
now i know people like to say red vs. blue sucks or whatever but i would be lying if i said i didn't think it was a fantastically written series that changed how i approach dialogue and humor on a fundamental level. also, i have the deepest respect for machinima as an art form.
i love headcanoning old men as ftm. like considering fandom loves to equate being transmasc to being young no one will probably agree with me but i look into his eyes and see the wisdom only a post-menopausal man could provide
For those who don't know, Trocadero was the main band behind the music for seasons 1-8 and 11-13 of Red vs Blue. They made songs such as "Blood Gulch Blues" (the theme song for the first 5 seasons), "A Girl Named Tex" (Tex's theme), "(When) Your Middle Name is Danger" (The Meta's theme), and "Contact" (Chorus' theme). All songs that I would argue were instrumental in making Red vs Blue what it was. As you can see from the tweet, Trocadero has recently confirmed that Rooster Teeth was unwilling to agree to the condition hire them on to do the full score for the season, instead opting to use what I'm sure are cheaper alternatives.
I know we're all pumped about the new season and I don't want to damper anyone's hype but please remember that Rooster Teeth remains a company that does not respect its workers or its artists and is unwilling to pay them what they're worth. In turn, we should not be supporting them monetarily.
ok i rambled about this on dscord to friends who dont rvb but after marinating a bit i think my thoughts are. storywise this is deeply unsatisfying. i'm one of the folks who hasn't reallllly liked stuff past s14 storywise (s13 always felt like a Proper End to me that didnt need continuing) but retconning EVERYTHING That happened after epsilon's death as a Computer Dream? what on earth? who allowed this to happen. that as a decision is Fucking Absurd.
that being said, i don't think anything they could've done storywise would be particularly satisfying to me, ESPECIALLY not with epsilon (or any church besides). im glad they didnt ACTUALLY revive him (this all apparently taking place in his final moments and all) but even if they didnt actually revive him they're narratively reviving him and i dont like that.
i'm sure i will end up enjoying old-format epsigulch sillytimes, but the framing to make it happen is. Waow
i saw people talking about how they did retcons but that. that. that's a lot of retcon
i havent watched past s15 but i imagine thats part of the demographic theyre trying to court with the assumed return-to-form, so we’ll see how confused i am at the thing lmao
