[Upon rewatching DS9, I actually kinda ship Ezri and Garak. I enjoyed their dynamics in “Afterimage” and the way they ended up helping each other - both intentionally and inadvertently. And I would have loved to see them interact more in following episodes. ]

[I love how Cardassians regarded Dukat as being a pretty brilliant strategist and leader, and then he goes and joins in with the Dominion, in turn causing THE WORST war Cardassia has ever experienced hands down, and destroying their cities/populace. Shakin’ my head, Dukat. Shakin’ my head.]

[When watching DS9 “Destiny” and learning how acting irritably with each other can be considered flirting by Cardassian standards I always wondered if nobody of the crew thought to give Kira a hint about this and instead enjoyed the cultural miscommunication whenever she got into Dukat’s face.]

[I think it’s funny how DS9 is a show centered on the grayness of morality and life, but the fandom thinks if you’re interested in Dukat as a character, you are a Bad Person who would support dictators in real life. It’s such a black and white view.]

#I'm not a dukat appreciator #but i have to admit #villains are fun #and i'm friends with dukat enjoyers #and none of them would support dictators in real life #though some in this fandom act like they would #it is a problem #it's a problem because enjoyers are keeping their enjoyment under wraps #and that makes me angry #this fandom should be better than that

[I know it’s bad to say this about him, but I have this head canon where Dukat, after the death of his daughter, was just broken. And that the Pah-Wraiths were using him since then, causing his hallucinations, founding the cult on Empok Nor, then attacking the wormhole, until he tried to release them in the finale. But maybe it’s just my weird ideas as a writer. Who knows? ]
