"I'm sure you can relate to this but I really do hate giving out detentions," Elena sighed as the two chatted in the Hogwarts equivalent of a professor's lounge. "You should've seen the look they gave me. I'm use to it by now but I'm sure some of them think I do it on purpose."

"I know you would be," she replied with a fond smile, grateful to have a genuinely good person like Elijah in her life. "Of course. I can't imagine raising her any other way," Elena nodded. She would never tell others how to parent their children but she was certainly firm in her own ideas of how to go about it. "How're your classes going by the way? Some of my students are being kind of antsy lately," she mentioned with a soft laugh.

"I appreciate that you hold me in such high regard, Elena but that is not true, and honestly, I would be proud of her if she managed that." He knew the dedication it would take and if that was where the little girls interest eventually ended up lying, he would do everything he could to support her in achieving her dream. "It's good that she's got the opportunity to explore all the different avenues."

"I'd help any day, I hope you know that," Elena assured the blonde warmly. She'd found a friend in the woman. And in all honesty motherhood had been a hard thing for her to juggle at first, especially considering she hadn't been planning for it. Being there for someone with a few years experience under her belt was kind of nice. Almost like she could tackle things with a little more consciousness to it. "It's really a pleasure and Mari enjoys coming over even if there's very little she can actually help with at the moment," she added with a soft laugh.

"Well I don't know about crushing it. What I do know is you've definitely helped make a rocky ride a little less bumpy." Clara informed the woman with a grateful smile. Clara talked with her husband of course but sometimes she didn't want to put everything on his shoulders so it was nice to speak to another mother and learn that she wasn't the only one going through some of the feelings she experienced.

"Am I allowed to ask you what the craziest thing you've ever read has been?" Elena couldn't help but pry. "I'm sure some people and tabloids write the most outlandish things."

"I try to stay on top of tabloids, and I might have to help do damage control when it comes to this one," Cleo replied. "Though, I do like a little gossip every once in a while, hard to work in PR without enjoying a little bit of it."

"I'm sure that even she knows that nobody could replace you," Elena said after initially laughing at Elijah's remark. "But I can't promise she won't have an interest in such a thing. I have no clue what she'll end up gravitating towards considering she has so many interests right now. I'd say that's all part of the fun of watching her grow up."

"You think so do you?" Elijah responded with a little smile when Elena mentioned the terrarium being a cute idea. "So what you're telling me is you are growing a little person to take my place as the Herbology Professor? I need to keep eyes in the back of my head or she'll swipe it right from under my feet." He teased.

"Nothing silly about that," Elena assured with a bright smile. "I hope the both of you have the absolute best time on the date together."

"I really can't," April admitted with an excited grin. She hadn't felt this giddy in a long time, "It's almost silly how excited I feel about it," she continued with a laugh.

"You would've been crushing the whole mom thing with or without me," she insisted to the other with a dismissive wave of her hand. Elena was happy to lend a hand but also didn't expect some sort of high praise for it. It was sweet, but not necessary to her. She was just glad to be a positive influence. "I know. I think that's why I like her so much," she shot back with a grin.

"Not at all. Really, I appreciate your support. With how hectic things have been, i'm glad to get the help wherever I can and it's definitely made it easier for me to slip into this new role." Having someone tell her she wasn't failing badly who had been through what she had was honestly, the best thing she could ask for. There was something calming about Elena. "I wouldn't always call her a delight. In fact, I would probably say she takes after me a little too much."

"This is far too sweet and thoughtful of you, Clara," she replied with appreciation for the gesture from her friend. "I'm always happy to lend a hand or pass on Mari's hand-me-downs for Florence. She's a delight. Besides, I was lucky to have people help me when I had my daughter so I'm more than happy to pay it forward here for your family."

"Think of this as a late mothers day treat. As a thank you for the support you've given me the past months since I had Florence." Clara spoke warmly, where they sat, their afternoon tea set out on the table in front of them.

"They were selling them at the kiosk on the counter. I picked one up after I got these coffees," Elena explained. "You a fan of this magazine in particular?"

"I'm so proud of you for finally opening it!" Elena grinned, throwing her arms over his shoulders into a tight hug. "Sure you'll probably be explaining yourself to people like that at the start but the people who get it are gonna get it," she added encouragingly. "How do you feel?"

"Look, I'm not sure how I can make it anymore clearer. It literally says it under the name of the place, Polaris, Art Bar." James tried to explain to the other. "It's a bar, that displays art you can buy and also has a studio in the back for lessons and artists to use as a creative space. Also we hold paint and sip nights, sometimes. Don't know how to make it anymore clearer, mate."

"The terrarium idea's really cute," Elena admitted. "I'm sure she'd absolutely love it. She already loves helping me out whenever I've repotting my plants so I'm sure she'd be obsessed with it and then beg you to teach her how to make them," she added with a bright laugh. "Of course that's your answer. But that'll be lovely– it sure sounds it. Maybe we'll even get some of that lovely sun too."

"Well perhaps I need to do something in return. Nothing like this masterpiece of course but I think I could manage to pull something together. Perhaps I should make her a cute little terrarium just for her; that's far more within my range of capabilities." He admitted with a laugh. "Holidays? Well not at the moment but honestly, it'll be the time of the year when I can spend lots of time in my garden which is just as enjoyable for me."

"That's incredible!" she replied enthusiastically when the blonde revealed what had her so giddy. "I'm so happy for the two of you– I'm sure you can't wait for that date."

"I might have figured out who my secret admirer was," April replied, giggling, "Gosh, I feel like I'm at school again. I'm seeing Jordi now, we have our first date on Valentine's Day."

"I've got no doubts about that," Elena replied warmly, openly fond of the redhead. "There's a reason I consider you a great influence to have around my daughter after all."

"Quite rightly in my opinion. You cannot say that anything I have said is not the truth after all." Evelyn pointed out, giving a little shrug of her shoulders. "Well I'm not like that now but hopefully, it might mean that I still can be some day."

"Absolutely! I am not the type of person who would just say something like that for the sake of it," Elena insisted passionately, watching the blonde light up at the compliment. "Are you now? Is that for any particular reason?" she asked in a friendly manner. "You're so welcome."

April beamed, hands over her face as she took the compliment with a sheepish blush, "You think so?" she asked, "I'm feeling very romantic these days, I guess I was inspired," she paused, "Thank you."

"I can understand that," she nodded with a little amused laugh of her own. Elena couldn't blame him for just being human. "No? And what is your normal type?" she asked curiously. "I don't think I've paid close enough attention to your past partners to find a common thread."

The sound of Elena's voice betrayed the surprise at that, though he wondered how shocking it was given James flirted with everyone it seemed. Still, he had to give it to her for managing to control her facial expression. "I feel like I've gone too long without sex if I'm even contemplating it." Elijah answered honestly, a snort of amusement falling from his lips. "Good looking as he may be, he's not my normal type."

"I was just on my way to buy some cards and sweets to hand out for the holidays. Couldn't do that without some window shopping of course," Elena explained as she came into the flower show. "The second I saw the floral arrangements in the window I had to come compliment you on them– they're beautiful, April!"
