Learning
I think that I like my learning speed the most out of anything. I am a very fast learner, so being able to work at my own pace during this class (due to the online format) is very beneficial to me as a student. I also believe that the instruction provided for this class was beneficial. The instructions were simple, yet gave enough detail for the projects and assignments to be completed. The fact that we are all messaging in an online sphere is also very beneficial to the learning in the class as a whole. It is very fun to see what my peers are posting throughout the week and responding to the different posts that are presented on my feed.

Essay Adjustments
I will adjust my essay in the descriptions I give of assignments. In the reflection style of essay, I believe that it is important for me to describe the assignments at length. Focusing on my challenges and successes would be very fun to do and discuss during the essay. I want to highlight my struggles throughout the course and explain how I overcame them. This type of adjustment will help my essay reflect myself more than just the class. I want to focus on what made this course successful and beneficial to me and my education here at Millersville.

Omg same, tangents are so common for me when I forget to make outlines

My Writing Strengths
In my writing process, I am most proud of my outlining skills. I like laying out everything I plan on doing in my essay, especially highlighting the different points I want to make. This helps me write more from my perspective. If I know what to write about and discuss, then I can go on a deep dive into every little piece and expand on the topics greatly. Laying out my papers with questions I want to/should answer is a great way for me to focus on what I am creating.

I like your perspective here. It is very important to show that you understand the concepts more than the actual words. The context and conceptual ideas are what matters the most
Improving My Essay
When I mention key concepts, I will give plenty of context clues for what they mean. Information architecture or discourse community might not be the terms used by the future employer for those concepts. Showing that I understand the key concepts this way will also show that I'm not just using them as buzz words to act like I know what I'm talking about.

I really like your response here! I have also greatly revised my revision process (pun intended), and it has been so helpful to me in this class and all of my other ones. Having a specific set of instructions for revision is so helpful and is a great way to apply revision to many projects, no matter the class. Also, I agree that feedback is very important, I tend to attempt to wait as long as possible to finish my projects just so that I can include as much feedback as possible.
Writing Process - Revision
The part of my writing process that I am most proud of is my revision process! This class has really challenged me to, first create a revision process/plan, and then follow through on it. In the past, I have not had a uniform revision system, just looking over and re-reading my work before I submitted. With this course, I have been able to create steps for a proper revision, and have found that it really helps improve the quality of my work! I catch a lot more mistakes now, but on top of that, I am able to make adjustments that I would not have thought to do previously. By incorporating the feedback I get into my next draft, my projects keep getting better.

Continuing Skills
How would you recommend developing skills once we are out of the academic environment? I am going to be graduating in the Fall and really want to keep up on my skills I have developed throughout my years of education. Is there a certain activity or site you would recommend to maintain and grow my writing skills? I have tried journaling in the past and it is not my favorite thing, but is it a good way to continue to grow in the writing sphere? I really want to make sure that I have a decent grasp on writing that continues long into my future career. @npfannen

Example Posts
This is a small section of my design project, illustrating some of the angry fan replies to the cancelation of the show. I think I have made a good use of variety and language in these examples, but I am unsure as to if I am creating realistic points/posts. I attempted to create examples of the fans commenting and being responded to by other fans as well as the studio. I hope that this small section is showing my plans in a thought out and concise way, but would love (and greatly benefit from) some input from you all!

That's a great idea. I also based my fictional show on a real show (mine being Only Murders In The Building) and that made it easier to come up with the concepts for the cancellation. It's also good (even though the experience was probably hard) that you can base your fake show's cancellation on your real show's cancellation. This past sadness can benefit your project.
Share an example of your favorite television show or movie - how does that show/movie help you work through this project and understand angry fandom?
Tumblr media
Well, as I said in a previous post, one of my favorite shows (Julie and the Phantoms) was canceled after one season (a season that ended on a cliffhanger) so I have set up a scenario similar to make all my imaginary Twitter users feel the pain I have. For this prompt, I'll use one of my favorite currently-running TV shows, Abbott Elementary. If they canceled this show, I would be CRUSHED. It really helps me put myself in the shoes of all the fans I've created in my head because I can have lived and can imagine the pain they are going through.

This is a good example. Unus Annus's goal was set out from the start, with the intentions fully laid out, yet fans were still upset when it was over. I think using these opinions from fans is a great way to diversify your postings :)

Although this wasn't a proper TV show, Unus Annus was a project that had a bit of angry fans towards the end of it's life. The concept of Unus Annus was that two youtubers would record content and post every day for one year. After that one year, all of the content would be deleted afterwards. Towards the end of the project's life, a lot of people were upset that all of the content would be gone. Along with that, people debated if the channel would really be deleted. Seeing all of the discussion of the project is helping me to generate content for the angry reactions because I have good examples to inspire me!

Like with your first post, I really enjoy this. Your explanations are simple but contain enough detail to assist the intern along their way. Also, discussing how the posts by fans are reasonable/make sense is a great inclusion. The angry fans should still be seen as human.
Tumblr media
This is the part of my pivot guide that gives examples of what types of posts the intern should respond to. My goal with the explanations is to explain the fans' perspective and why the company wants to respond to them. Are these 3 explanations easy to follow? On the next page of my guide, this same format will be used but the explanations next to the tweets will be about how the intern should write replies.

I think this format works well, I would say to maybe include hashtags or emojis to show that the poster is angry or expressing to a larger crowd. So far it is a good post, but does not seem as angry as I believe you intended.
Share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample?

I like this, having the examples and ideas for what to do is a great idea. This is easy to read and the inclusion of the * 'ed section is a good way to show what is occurring to the intern.

My Experience
My favorite TV shows are Bob’s Burgers and Futurama. I am not overtly involved in their fandoms, but do see posts about them on twitter and TikTok. I can grasp what would anger fans about different shows just based on my peripheral involvement. I understand the lack of storyline and plot points that would anger fans. This is very interesting to attempt to understand, as I have not personally been angry over the lack of a story development, especially because any shows I watch that have been canceled had developed storylines more or less.

Canceled Show
I am a fan of the hulu show, The Great. It got canceled last year after three seasons which was very disappointing to me. It was a really fun show that I thoroughly enjoyed. I enjoy shows about historical things and events, even if they are altered slightly. This show also had amazing costumes (which is quite literally my future career), so I really enjoyed watching it and seeing all the details. It was sad to me that it was canceled, but I am glad that the show at least didn’t go on for too long. Honestly, after one of the main characters died, the show became a little too sad for me. He was a main source of comedy during the show's run, so it was very sad to have his character leave permanently.

Assignment Questions
What format should we be creating this document as? Like should it be one page showing the details that the intern should follow or a set of pages breaking down responses? I know it has to be designed but I am personally not the best at designing infographics of sorts. I also am wondering about the fake posts. Are we submitting them as if they are for the intern, or as if they were genuinely posted by the company? I am assuming they would be in the same document as the style guide, I am just unsure as to if it would be targeted for the intern to view or if it is just an example of what was being posted. @npfannen
