This is an example of an angry fan post and a response from the studio. How does this look? Does it look like a Tweet?

No Longer a Fan of Netflix
Tumblr media
This past year has been an awful experience for me in terms of television. Several of my favorite shows were canceled, leaving fans without a well-developed ending. Most were scraped on cliffhangers. For me the shows of Lockwood & Co., I Am Not Okay With This, The Irregulars, and Julie and the Phantoms were all cancelled. Shows which I loved dearly and shows which fans showed favoritism toward in patterns. With so many shows being canceled nowadays, I have learned to show distrust in companies. No more can I get wrapped up in a show only to learn it was canceled. With this phenomenon happening multiple times I have grown disinterested in TV shows especially those produced by major film companies. For Lockwood & Co. which was a popular TV show based on a famous book series (that already had a huge following), it was disappointing to learn that it was canceled when everyone thought that a second season was a given.

Building a posting schedule!
This semester I've started using a scheduling 'diary' rather than a store-bought planner. They've felt too rigid in the past, I would only write in the planner because I felt an obligation to. Instead, I am making use of the cutesy notebooks I've received as gifts through the years and writing out small, accomplishable goal lists. Listing responsibilities in class-related categories and creating page sections for previous & next day tasks has helped me stay more organized through the winter, and hopefully onward!

Shows That Have Been Canceled!
Buckle up because this is a long one but it's worth it. This brought two shows to mind. One show was The Owl House on Disney Plus and the second was Julie and The Phantoms on Netflix.
If you are familiar with shows such as Gravity Falls then you are already familiar with some of the people on The Owl House. I will try to keep the description of the show short as I could go on FOREVER about this show and it is one of my current top favorites (possibly favorite). In brief, it is about a girl Luz Noceda who doesn't quite fit in. One day she accidentally stumbles across a demon realm where she meets Eda The Owl Lady and decides to live out her dream of becoming a witch just like Azura in her favorite books "The Good Witch Azura". However, being a human this proves to be a lot harder than she thought. The show follows her adventures through the Demon Realm unfolding a much darker story as the show continues. If you haven't watched it, I 10000% recommend it. Sadly, as this show was about to reach it's third season Disney decided it was not going to continue it... but was generous enough to give it a final three episodes. FANS WERE OUTRAGED! There were so many theories as to why it was canceled and I am not even completely sure which are true. Some of these theories included having a queer relationship and LGBTQ+ representation, others theorized that because the show came out around the time of COVID it was a budget thing (which doesn't make complete sense because Disney is HUGE). The main thing people had to go on was Disney's claims that the show no longer "fit their brand". I will admit as disappointing as this was the ending was beautiful. The writers did a beautiful job of making us cry and laugh as they tied up the story while integrating plot points in small ways that were supposed to be full episodes. One thing I will forever be upset that the story was robbed of however, is a Hooty back story. Hooty was this owl...? Demon? Thing? Yes? that was the owl house itself and lived in the door. He was a disturbing but also really funny character and just looking at him raises so many questions.
Another show that came to mind was Julie and The Phantoms. This show was on Netflix and was directed by Kenny Ortega (director of High School Musical, Descendants, and a lot more). This show is a very different concept and hard to explain without watching the show. It followed a girl Julie who recently lost her mom. She loved music but it hurt too much to play as her mom also had loved music. Until one day she finally decides to go into the garage space her mom used to play in and plays for the first time since she passed away. Little did she know she was not alone. She discovers a band of three boys living in her garage? Except they're not exactly alive. They had passed away young due to a street hot dog incident. The show follows Julie and the band as they discover that only Julie can always see them but for some unknown reason when they perform together they are visible to everyone. The show ends on a massive cliffhanger with some trouble from a ghost antagonist who wants the band to perform for him forever. Although there is hope!! There is rumors and hints from the cast that the show may continue and be picked up by another company! The reasons for canceling this show are even more unknown than The Owl House. The show continues to be fairly popular, was directed by one of the most beloved directors of my generation, and has a sound track that will get stuck in your head for days! But, it may also just be Netflix living up to it's reputation of nixing shows before they really even have a chance to become something but who knows.

🔆Thursday Check-in🔆
Developing this Content Analysis assignment has been strenuous and complicated. I have some specific questions on subheadings that you could potentially apply to your assignment too.
Introduction
How can I refine the subheadings under Introduction to make them more engaging and informative?
Background on Content Strategy
Are there any additional subheadings you recommend adding under Background on Content Strategy?
Content Analysis
Dr. P, what are your thoughts on how the depth of analysis should look for Cat Influencers and Their Content?
Any suggestions for improving the subheadings related to Audience Analysis?
Context Analysis
I'd appreciate your input on refining the Research Question and Method for better alignment with the project's goals.
My research question is “How do different types of content and posting frequencies impact audience engagement over a 5 week period?”
Are there any subheadings missing under Context Analysis that you believe would enhance the overall structure?
Data and Data Analysis
How can I improve the presentation of Data and Content Analysis to make it more accessible other than graphs and visual aids?
Are there any specific subheadings you recommend adding or modifying under Data and Data Analysis?
Conclusions
Any advice on refining the subheadings under Conclusions for greater impact?
Feedback on these questions would be incredibly useful! 📚 @npfannen

Is this an effective intro? I don't think the intern would even read this short paragraph when looking over the page, but maybe if it's this short they would be more likely to.

Thursday Check-In
First of all- I LOVE the idea of this project, having been a victim of many cancelled shows myself 😔 just to be clear- we have to completely make up a show concept, right? No using a real TV show?

How will weekly posts help build a workable schedule?
Creating Tumblr posts over several days will help me stay on track because it will remind me to log on each day and check for updates, as well as keep me connected with my classmates. Sometimes online classes make it easier to procrastinate, but with logging onto Tumblr multiple days a week to post, Reblog, or comment back to my peers, will help me with staying on track with the not only this class, but will also prepare me for my future if I were to have use social media daily.

Writing Process for Texting a Friend
When texting a friend, I do not put much thought into my writing in comparison to writing an essay. I typically just text them based on context of the conversation we are having. I don't worry about using capital letters or proper punctuation, as texting is very informal. I tend to use text abbreviations, such as "idk", "lol", and "omg". I also like to use emojis to express my feelings about a certain situation.

RIP Inside Job
Inside Job was a comedic show about an elite team of outcasts hiding the world’s major conspiracies in order to protect humanity. It was a fun show with dry humor, materializing some of the silliest conspiracy theories as reality.
Despite only 2 seasons (2021-2022) and its numerous fans, Netflix determined that Inside Job did not have a cult-enough following like Stranger Things or Cobra Kai and thus Inside Job was not worth an investment. At heart, its cancellation was purely capitalistic and a devastation to fans. Where season two ended was not necessarily a big cliffhanger, but enough to make fans like me wistful of what could have been.

How I Text
When I text a friend, it is very contextual. Sometimes I send messages with very small and short sentences, sometimes even one word answers. This also depends on who I am texting however. When I will be texting my grandparents or other (more formal) figures, such as my boss, I will use more proper and formatted sentences. This is simply due to their older age and how they are texting me. Most of my grandparents do not know what emojis are or any internet slang, so I have to create sentences in a more formal way to ensure understanding. All in all, texting is simply speedy and basic to me. I usually send out texts without proofreading them or putting that much care into the messages.

Share your strategy for tackling a longer project with less stress
Tumblr media
I am a chronic procrastinator, so this week I've been doing a little bit every day to try and combat that. This image of Seth Cohen really explains how I'm feeling. I feel like I'll never be done with all my work but I know once I finish, I'll be able to enjoy my free time this weekend instead of using it to stress about all the work I waited until the last minute to do. @npfannen

Lockwood & Co.
Tumblr media
One of my favorite shows to watch is Lockwood & Co– a paranormal Netflix drama. Developed from the famous book series of Jonathan Stroud, the TV show is a supernatural hit of drama and romance. It follows the adventures of three friends who are a part of ghost-hunting agency “Lockwood & Co”. fighting against the deadly spirits plaguing London. For me, the TV show is phenomenal. The actors have great chemistry, the storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat and the general premise is very similar to what readers of the book series remember of it. I highly recommend watching it if you like shows like Supernatural, Wednesday, or Shadow & Bone.

Data analysis
One main takeaway from the data analysis was exploring the impact of hashtags, location pins, and captions, and how these digital writing tools helped content reach the intended audience. This understanding will help me in module 5 when I’m analyzing other creator’s content, and the tools they use to reach their intended audience. I’m also curious to learn additional tools creators use that I may not be aware of yet.

I participate at Millersville by taking part in the Jewelry and Metal Arts Guild. I am a metals artist specifically so I love this club since we get the chance to sell jewelry twice a year! We go on field trips and enjoy an atmosphere of fellow artists. I am the club secretary and I love being an officer in the club. I’m a commuter, so it can make socializing at school a little difficult. Joining this club my freshman year helped me come out of my shell and helped prepare me with a community or fellow creatives.

Original Content #2
Tumblr media
I'll take an example from a bit of a different approach to web writing. The above picture are a few web ads that I think give a great example of information architecture and user experience, but not one that's tailored to benefit the user. These types of ads with their fake download buttons are very intentionally confusing and misleading. Their goal is to make you think you're doing something other than clicking an ad. They're trying specifically to trap you. It uses all the common tropes of ui/ux design and perverts it against the user in a bid to siphon attention, getting you to maybe consider their product, or even unintentionally install some form of malware. Say what you will about the ethics of such ad design, their purpose is very well thought out.
