tldr: Internal communication leaked at tumblr that they are preparing to sell a huge amount of user data, art and writing to OpenAI and Midjourney to train their models. They compiled all public info 2014-2023, and they fucked up, so some non public stuff is also included.

It's not clear weather there is a deal to auto delete the data or weather or not some of the data was already sold and sent.

Not even staff knows much and upper management is not answering anything (clearly).

My Spookslot diorama is done! Spookslot (Haunted Castle) is my favorite attraction at Efteling, and when they announced it was gonna leave the park I decided I wanted to make a tribute. I made the exterior of the castle and a part of the square. The castle and the floor bricks are made out of carving foam, the tree trunks are made of gardening wire and air-drying clay, and all the vegetation and foliage comes from SceneryWorkshop. It’s all made at a 1:87 scale. This is my first big diorama project ever, and I’ve caught the fever! It’s so calming and rewarding. I’m already thinking about my next project 😊 I’ll miss visiting Spookslot so so much, but Efteling recently announced their new spooky attraction that’ll replace it, and I’m very excited about it! 💀

Why do I, as a Japanese person, enjoy creating Black characters?

To put it simply, I started creating Black characters because a Black fan once said to me, 'Thank you for creating Black characters beautifully. It's a simple reason, but those words really made me happy.

A foreign fan told me, "Japanese anime art and entertainment are racially discriminatory". As a Japanese illustrator, I had never heard such an opinion from Japanese people. This perspective was new to me.

If Japanese anime art and entertainment are perceived as racially discriminatory from an international perspective, then we as Japanese must face this issue.

Unfortunately, I have heard some Japanese people say, "If foreigners don't like it, they shouldn't watch Japanese entertainment. It's made for Japanese people". This is a foolish thought.

No matter how much they claim that Japanese entertainment is "just for Japan," the Internet has erased borders. Japanese art and entertainment are no longer just for Japanese consumers. Can we go against the tide of this era?

No, it's impossible.

Some understanding Japanese have said to me, appreciating my efforts to create ethnic diversity and racial differences, "If you continue to draw Black characters, maybe one day Japanese people will deepen their understanding of diverse racial representation and your work will be properly recognized.

I would be happy if one day I could draw beautiful Black characters in my work for Japanese clients and for foreign fans.

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of a fake Trekkie. I haven’t seen ANY of them in full, I just vaguely know the plot lines of all the generations. But whenever I catch my family watching your ready room, I ALWAYS sit down to watch with them. Your enthusiasm for every part of the universe is contagious, and it’s always so nice to share in someone’s passion, even if it’s through a TV screen. Seeing you be so unabashedly excited lifts my own spirits, I guess? Lmao. Anyway, just wanted to say I love watching you in it.

I feel like someone once told you that unless you like Star Trek in this one specific way, you aren't a "real" fan.

I would like to retroactively tell that person to shut up and let you enjoy things.

There are ENORMOUS parts of the Star Trek universe I know nothing about. I still haven't watched a full episode of Enterprise, and haven't seen more than a handful of Voyager.

But you'd be hard pressed to find someone who loves Star Trek more than I do, because the love we feel for things comes from inside us, from a place that an insecure gatekeeper can't touch, unless you let them.

You don't need permission to casually enjoy and love Star Trek, but I'll give you this "Wil Wheaton Says Shut The Fuck Up And He Outranks You" card to play when someone tells you that you aren't a "real" fan, because you can't rattle off the combination to Kirk's safe.
