I told her to cry to God Instead she left her tears on the pillows of lost lovers She filled her soul with water And drowned within it
I told her to run to God Instead she ran into the arms of strangers Looking for comfort in unfamiliar places Looking for warmth in cold eyes
I told her to speak to God Instead she poured her heart out into empty people She filled them with her sorrow Without every emptying herself of it
I told her God was waiting If she took a step to Him he’d come running I told her that He’s not like them He forgives Forgets Loves Endlessly
I told her to cry to God And He’d sooth her soul He’d fill her emptiness He’d be enough
And He was

Shukr is to display the effects of the blessings of Allaah upon the tongue by way of praise and acknowledgement; in the heart by way of witnessing and love; and upon the limbs by way of submission and obedience

Do you ever get that feeling where you’re not sad but you’re not happy either, and it’s like there is something missing in your life, and you have no idea what it is?
And there is this longing for something you can’t even place, like a dull ache that you are not really where you’re supposed to be, that there should be something significant, something more substantial that you need to do?
And then every night, you just go to sleep hoping that you’ll figure it out the next day.

I came to You
I came to You Carrying what was left of my darkened heart Dragging my broken soul behind me Scars from years of neglect Burns that only You could see Wounds deeper than my physical existence So deep, my grave would tremble in fear Knowing my last hour was watching me You never turned me away You healed my heart and softened it You cleansed my soul and let me hear it I came to You, the One, the Only The Forgiving, the Merciful I came to You

there is this creature called ‘mother’. she is all hands. she is all giving, never taking, she is wide open eyes, wide open arms, wide open palms— and when she whispers “come back home,” it’s her chest she points to. there are wounds there, but she has grown flowers in them. there is a beating heart, whispering dreams, but she silences them so they do not disturb our sleep. there is soaking, wet pain but she never hangs it out to dry. there is this creature called mother, and she is always awake before the sun is, breathing sweet smelling life into the morning air. she is awake even when the moon is, and i think it turns a little paler each night, always jealous of her beauty. there is this creature called mother, and her hands are never soft. all callouses, all scars from the nights she spent carving us homes out of mountains of loneliness. there is this creature called mother, and i wonder if she is what an angel would look like if it sold its wings for bread to feed the hungry. there is this creature called mother, and each time i broke her heart, she made me another.

There will be people in your life for whom you will hold so much love and admiration in your heart, but won’t be able to bring yourself to tell them. You’ll just observe their beautiful presence from a distance, and genuinely wish for them happiness and fulfillment and all else that is good in life.

I think one thing we take for granted and forget about is the healing ability that is the habit of visiting the sick and visiting neighbours and friends who are dealing with any kind of hardship. We go about our day 90% of the time on auto-pilot, ego-driven and basking in our own self-reinforced notions of what is important and what is not. We find ourselves in either a state of constant movement or a really uncomfortable impasse of some sort and can’t place why or how to get out of it.
Visit a sick friend. Visit someone in your community to just say hi, lend your hand and yourself as support for a friend dealing with stuff. Make an effort to build ties and connections for no other reason than to please the One Who made you both and you’ll notice the difference in your life.
Selflessness goes a long way.

Belief in Allah SWT is part of human nature, it only takes realisation to see it. All around us we are surrounded by flaws and imperfections, right down to our own character. As humans we are unjust, selfish, hurtful and we can sometimes lack understanding, appreciation, compassion. We are in our essence incomplete. And Allah SWT has built in us the desire to seek out that which is complete. We often find ourselves trying to find this fulfilment in our family and friends. We turn to them hoping they'll understand us completely, constantly appreciate us, provide solutions to our problems and be our constant pillar; and we always end up in disappointment when we realise that they'll never be able to fulfill our expectations of them. BUT Allah, exalted is He, says ‘I am as My servant thinks (expects) I am". He who is completely Merciful, completely Powerful, completely all aware, completely Compassionate, completely Just, completely Wise, completely Loving. He who is completely perfect says to us, powerless flawed servants "Call upon Me, I will answer you." (Quran 40:60) Islam is beautiful beyond comprehension ♄

Complain to Allaah
Abdullah ibn ShaddĂąd:
"I heard the sobbing of ‘Umar from the last rows while he was reciting the verse from the Qur’ñn:
"I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah". (Surah Yusuf:86)

Even with the best of circumstances, there’s always something tragic about growing up.
Life is messy; life isn’t perfect.
You have to look at the things in front of you and do what you can, and stop measuring them against the things you have lost.
Things will get better, even if you don’t know it yet.

He screames: “Astaghfirullah!” at the top of his lungs as if it was a sentence to point out the sins of others. He often quotes the verse: “And you shall speak to men good” while throwing around insults and addressing somebody else. He always recites: “Bismillah irrahman irrahim” eagerly waiting for Allah’s Mercy; sadly he does not return any. You see, duas escape his tongue everyday, but they have never come from his heart. You see, duas escape his tongue everyday but they are always referring to others and never to himself.

Kinesin is a protein that moves things around the cell. That filament is a protein strand that gives the cell structure. That vesicle is a big blob full of cellular product that the cell wants to transport somewhere else. It is driven by ATP hydrolysis. (Source) (Video)
