"Yeah, that's true. I was... kind of in charge of a very small area in New York, had to make sure people were staying out of trouble." Bigby explains. "That's good, that's good." He pauses, "I'm a cop. I'm not always a fan of telling people that."

"i suppose that goes for any town." ethan answered with a shrug of his shoulders as he looked over at the other. he could name several cities that were just like that. "it keeps food on the table that is for sure and really what matters the most."

Armand's occult-themed bookstore, of course, was only meant for a specific type of vampire; as he had recently learned that there were numerous kinds of vampires here, in the city. He did not expect that, nor did he expect a human to come walking into his store. He picked up on the smell of him immediately -- Daniel Molloy. Armand seemingly floats over to him, and to the front counter, before settling his feet down onto the floor again. He expected the other man to be old and frayed, as he had been before, but no. Daniel was young again. What did he remember? "Always so ill-tempered," He whispers under his breath, not sure if the other would recognize him. "What is it you are looking for, exactly?"

could this, perhaps, be considered a new low? a quick glance down at the piece of paper his boss had handed him - yup, that's the right adress - daniel sighed, looked left and right before he decided to screw it, pushed open the door to the occult book store. he'd had to research some pretty unusual stuff in his day, some of his oddest stuff having been assigned to him nowhere but nyu's own newspaper, but it seemed as if the satanic panic had taken hold of washington, d.c. only about, say, fourty years late. occult happenings in the capitol .... he could only sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose as he wandered into the store.

it fit the description of occult bookshop, alright. a slight gasp escaped his lips as his gaze travelled upwards - some optical illusion, it had to be. whoever owned this store needed to give the interior designer a raise, like, yesterday. as cool as it looked, daniel found himself frowning as he squinted to make out some of the titles on the book's spines. " what is this, a bookstore for freaking superman ... " now, daniel wasn't short by any means. but it also happened that he couldn't fly, either. which was an issue, when faced with flying bookshelves, of course.

and, since he was absolutely not going to run across the city in search of another 'supernatural' bookshop, he had no choice but to drag his feet over to the counter, currently unmanned. fingers drumming restlessly against polished wood, where was a customer service bell when you needed one? a click of his tongue, another sigh until he finally gave in, called out into the nothingness.

" uh, hello ? anybody in ? " daniel pursed his lips, his fingers playing a continous beat against the counter. " paying customer here ... how the hell is anybody supposed to get those books, huh ? ... hello ?"

"I am not certain. You are the only person I have run into, thus far." Caius tells her, "Though I do not believe that Aro or Marcus are here. They would have found me by now, if they were." He shrugs, "Understandably so. It is very new to the both of us."

She smiles back at the man. "I've not run into many. I've only just recently run into my parents, and now you. Who else is here?" She nods. "Washington has taken a lot of adjusting for me."

"It's pretty different from what I'm used to, as well." Beth nods, understandingly. "I don't think there is though, no. I'm sorry. Kind of glad about that in my case, but I know the circumstances aren't the same for everyone. Where are you from?"

"this place is so different to what I'm used to," they weren't sure if it was good or not, but she missed dimitri and her grandmother. "do you know if there's any way to get back to where you're actually from?"

"I might ask someone to carry six, if they had two working arms. I'm just one arm short," Alicia laughs yet again, shaking her head. She could definitely find the good in a genuinely bad situation -- like losing her arm, for example. "Veronica, it's nice to meet you, too. I like your name, it's really pretty."

"you are an absolute life saver," veronica admits as she lets the other take some of the bags. suddenly the weights off her arms felt so much better. "i think one or two would be fine, i'd never ask someone to carry six." she insisted with a soft smile. "it's nice to meet you, alicia. i'm veronica."

"Yes, I am." Rey nods, smiling softly. "It's nice to meet you, Sabina." She shakes the other's hand. "I guess we must be related, somehow. Someone needs to make us a family tree, one of these days."

"Nonsense," Garrett says, "Your love life doesn't have to be as dead as you are." He felt for her, though. Had understood that feeling for many years. "You'll find someone."

"i'm attending ," irina nodded in confirmation . the vampire gave a nonchalant shrug . she didn't care about the holiday one way or another . "it's not like i'm going to have any romance or anything like that . my love life is as dead as me ."

"I am. Weird, isn't it?" Bella asks, already knowing the answer. Every vampire she seemed to come into contact with was surprised that she was human again, just as surprised as she was. "That's great" She smiles, "I can't wait to meet her. It's kind of bizarre, not knowing your own daughter."

"You're human?" Kate repeated in surprise. She had not been expecting that. How was that possible? She smiled and nodded, "She is a young woman with a good head on her shoulders, good taste and, to be honest, kind of a badass. She must take after her Auntie Kate," she joked.

"Rick?" Beth replies, looking up at him with tears in her eyes. She remembered the last time she saw him, how relieved she had been that he was seemingly okay -- and it was all over in an instant. "I... I don't know," It was an honest response, because she didn't have the slightest clue. "I really don't."

this whole thing made no sense. being in dc where there were seemingly zero walkers and life went on like normally didn't make sense to rick, not anymore. what really didn't make sense was how he was face to face with beth. she died, he had seen it with his own eyes and she certainly didn't look like a walker. "...how?"

"Yeah, you're right. Thank you," Will says to her, smiling slightly. He appreciated her -- wanted her to know that he did, though he was bad with feelings. He'd only met her a couple of times, but she was always so kind. He wasn't always treated like that by other people. "You should get a dog, rescue one, if you like animals. One is usually good enough for most people."

"You're not wrong." Yennefer chuckled a little bit. She was selective with her people. Well the people she let close to her. Yennefer knelt down to say hello to the dogs. She ran her fingers over their fur. "I am sure it is." She smiled back at him before standing up again. "Well if you have something that works for you that is all you can really do." She nodded, looking back at the dogs.

"New York is... well, I guess it depends on where in New York you live. Or visit," Bigby shrugs his shoulders. He didn't exactly like to go blabbing about Fabletown to other folks, especially those that seemed human. Then he'd have to explain who he was, and since he was a cop here, he didn't want people being afraid of him. "Construction sounds like hard work, but I've heard it pays decently."

"new york huh? i haven't been to new york in years." ethan mused as he looked over at the other. it had been before he went after mia in louisiana, a much more peaceful time. "i work in construction right now. with the up and down weather? the sniffles get even worse."

Beth shakes her head. "Forget about all of that, it wasn't your fault. It was theirs. They were being so stupid," She replies, referring to their friends. She couldn't help but still feel angry at them all for what had happened, with the exception of Josh and Chris -- who didn't know. "I'm okay. I'm okay, as long as you're okay." She smiles slightly. "I just... don't know what to do about them now, you know? They were supposed to be our friends."

"Beth, oh my God!" she instantly wrapped her arms around her twin, feeling complete. "Me too!" When Hannah pulled away, she noticed that Beth, too, was tearful in her eyes. "I missed you and I'm so sorry— for running away, for being so childish with Mike. I shouldn't have been so.. so," a pause. "I'm okay. Are you okay?"
