This portion is ‘decorated’ with oddly realistic statues all around. If the transformation finishes it can be reversed by smashing the person into pieces. You can decide if this process kills them or not.

@hiddenpxpercuts for gabriel ( prompt 8 - the majority of this square of the maze is taken up by a huge pit with no sign of the bottom with only a thin pass for characters to try and shuffle around single file to avoid falling in. if characters look at it too long it stops feeling like a hole and more like a mouth. what could be buried in the ground with a mouth that big? )

"there's been another death," she informed the person next to her. "people are just dropping like flies here. it's just so terrible, isn't it?" she asked in faux concern.
