What would you think of Hashirama portraying Uchiha as infanticidal warmongers and downplaying Madara's grief over his siblings ? That's like he was trying to villanize and dehumanize Uchiha as much as possible.

Well, in fact, he did dehumanize and villanize them, however, not in a direct and radical manner like Tobirama.

I think that Hashirama is just that big ball of sunshine that values love, mutual understanding, the Will of Fire and the power of friendship, while Madara has a rather individualistic approach to life and just because he isn't as expressive as Hashirama, this doesn't mean that he isn't capable of valuing the same things. We all know that Hashirama had a very tough childhood, although many other shinobi children likely did face similar traumatic events, too. He witnessed his two younger brothers die before his eyes, his father was harsh towards him and Hashirama had to suppress his feelings in order to fit in. In addition to his extreme upbringing, Hashirama was very concerned about Tobirama's survival and this concern lasted for like a brief moment, until it became vice-versa and it was actually Tobirama who stressed himself WAY TOO MUCH over Hashirama, a ducking beast, lmao. Honestly, these two were really fucked up from the beginning, unlike Madara and Izuna who were on more relaxed terms and expressed their emotions freely up to the point where Izuna got killed. On top of that, Hashirama's true nature emerged on the surface right after he founded Konohagakure and became aware of his potential as a world-dominating leader in a newly established political system, which is why he began acting very protective of his village in a rather maniacal and aggressive way. Also, let's not forget about Tobirama who also was responsible for fueling the fire.

It seems to me that Hashirama's way of dehumanizing Uchiha and Tobirama's way are two different things in terms of origin. Hashirama seeks approval through his charismatic appearance and is the type of person who will freak out if he's not in control of pretty much everything in his life, even of irrelevant matter. He's also likely to compete with every single person for every small thing, including who had it worse (e. g. Hashirama likely thinks that his childhood was the worst or at least worse than Madara's despite that he considered him as a brother just because they faced the same losses).

Tobirama's way of dehumanizing the Uchiha clan is more like a combination of keeping Hashirama and the village safe (whatever the fuck that means) and keeping himself sane, because he is genuinely terrified of every single Uchiha. It could be said that he doesn't rely on the power of friendship to establish dominance over them because he's lived most of his life like a freaking lone wolf (the dude invented Edo Tensei) and I'm 10000% that he developed some kind of a personality disorder or at least is in a state of existential crisis. He wasn't really into the Will of Fire; in fact, he (and notably Danzō) represents the original ideology which has nothing to do with friendship, love, etc.

In conclusion, I think that your thoughts are pretty much close to the reality. Don't forget that we heard the story about the Warring States Period from Hashirama's perspective and the classic Naruto narrative, so there's a great chance that we were fooled, lmao. Anyway, this is only an anime (a long ass anime, to be fair, it sucks the life out of me 😭) and we're free to analyze it. I'm still anti-Konoha, which means I'm against Hashirama and his family ™ 🤧.
