engel is not a dragon herself and is the first attendant aqua ever took in.

for a long time aqua never really fraternized with humans but she was enamored with a woman she found in the sea one day who had drowned herself after being being cheated on not long before her wedding day. seeing that while her body had died but her soul still lingered aqua could speak to her and not understanding how a human could die for something she felt was so petty she gave engel a choice. stay with me and you can get another chance (after you threw your life away and over a man??? honestly let me see him he cant have been that amazing) or if you really want i can let you die here and the fish will have a nice meal. honestly she rly just wanted to study engel and would have someone she could use to study revitalizing magic on but engel ended up agreeing just so she'd have the strength to tear aqua a new one. they did not get along at all when they first met but now engel sticks to her (and also often reminds her that no matter how many little attendants she takes in aqua is hers first and foremost)

gonna make a long standing thread to revive all (or most of) my old dragon ocs this year! most of these are from middle-early hs and i will not include old pictures bc id be embarassed. for now it'll just be doodles i'll use to brainstorm and expand on

#none of this is rly coherent im just rambling #itll be easier to see if i color but part of engel's arm has been replaced by a water tank as well as most of her back #smthn smthn her soul being in tact protected moet of her body after she had drowned but some of it was still eaten at and aqua replaced them #that way. engel's parts are more of a prototype #bc many of aquas attendants were found in similar situations of having been drowned and partially decomposed or eaten at #she can heal them to a degree but not completely so its a workaround #the water in the tanks is what allows the attendants to use water magic also. the limit to how long they can use it #is determinee by how much they have in their tanks #some of them also decorate them like little fish tanks! engel has like tank gravel and plants in her back tank #she cant keep fish in it tho bc her glass cracks often #the glass is more of like a magic container for all attendants #but hers being first means the magic is a little unstable so if she gets too worked up it starts cracking and water leaks out #engel is much calmer than she was years ago but aqua manages to still push her buttons and embarass her #thinking abt just denoting the attendants as nymphs or smthn tbh. wildly different but still element/nature based

#i forgot to add my little notes in my tags #1) tried to make sure her scales around the face/chest were lighter like aging animals #2) shes drippy! the ends of her hair drips down constantly and her scars are constantly leaking water(?) #it evaporates quickly tho so it doesnt stay wet unless shes in distress then it intensifies and pools #her hair used to be longer when she was younger but with the way it feels constantly drenched at the ends it was heavy #and her neck could not take it anymore #3) not v visible w/ the crunch but her lipstick and eye shadow is glittery #4) im planning on making her a big'un. debating on her body type a little so idk if i wanna make her big hipped or slimmer #5) considering giving her children but if i do im never drawing them all out bc she'd have a ton. #they'd be many smaller diety dragons presiding over rivers and lakes and such #im still trying to think on a name change for her too.... #also now claiming her as the oldest of my elemental dragon ocs from middle school. if im remembering right the fire one was youngest

Gabriel

1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

Gabe does modeling so she's on the move more often than she'd like to be so when she takes a lazy day she will do Absolutely Nothing. Judas (her youngest sibling) will come by on those days to hang out and also be her little helper for the day! Lazarus lives with Gabriel too but they're always out of the house do judas is the most reliable option. It's a coin toss on if she'll actually stay down for the full time she's off, and if she doesn't she'll take judas out somewhere for the rest of the day instead.

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?

She's a very jovial person! I think she has one of those cutesy tinkly bell laughs. This is great for BD who would do anything to get a cute girl to laugh for him after may telling him to shut the fuck up every time he opens his mouth. even though BD probably deserves it.

3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Like i said she's always in and out of shoots so she probably conks out easy but Gabe's a sleepy time tea person imo. (i say imo like i didnt make her). maybe adding in a blood capsule if she's a little hungry too.

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

The city Gabe's in isn't the safest for humans or monster kin so she's open but not like. naive if that makes sense. She trusts you to act accordingly and in exchange she'll be on her best behavior! She is a nightmare (humanoid demon species thst feed on blood and "negative" feelings like fear or apprehension) however so meeting her is more likely to be your problem than hers.

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

Refer to above idk why these r right next to each other. But to expand a little bit the only reason you would lose her trust is if you're a constsnt promise breaker. this is why she and may have been dating on/off because while gabe makes time in her schedule all the time for may, may often gets caught up with work often that she can't really leave which has led to many instances of gabe waiting up for her at meeting spots only to get a "im sorry" text 2 hours late.

6. Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?

she bites people i dont think she cares much

7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

if she and judas do something like clothes shopping i think that would bring back a lot of memories for her! gabe began socially transitioning in early highschool (around judas' current age) and her mother, ezekiel, was with her every step of the way from making sure she was in an as comfortable as possible school environment, giving her a lot of support at home and ofc making sure gabe could wear whatever made her comfortable. at first gabe was wearing more subdued simple dresses like ezekiel does because she thought they looked amazing on her mother, but ezekiel pushed her bit by bit to look more at what she would want not just what she thinks would make ezekiel happy.

8. What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child.

terrorizing local kids is in the repertoire for nightmare children but it doesn't look good at PTA meetings if everyone knows you because your baby was putting frogs and worms and stuff in other kids' backpacks. you can bet gabe had nice naps from a full tummy after recess every day though

9. Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?

honestly i dont think she'd swear often? not from like thinking swearing is bad or w/e it just doesnt fit her.

10. What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?

first time she invited mayhem home for dinner and that girl ghosted her the day of and replied hours after ezekiel had A Fit and gabe and lazarus spent hours trying to do damage control to make sure their mom didnt go and rip may a new one. was an embarassing day for gabe for many reasons and may was not allowed to try again and make up for it for a year bc its likely that ezekiel might have hurt her bad. don't play games with her babies like that

just a lil sheet to help me better conceptualize how i draw satan + a little list in the readmore to expand on the arrows

starting from the numbers:

Despite the speed at which devils heal satan bites his lips so much (if he isnt grinding his teeth) that there are perpetually little tooth mark scars on his bottom lip

I like giving the devils pointed ears! with the way i like to draw they do range from looking more human-ish to being elf-like (longer and pointed (though i do variation there too if you've seen my paimon)). satan's are a little longer compared to human ears and are downturned. i also just rly enjoy ear wiggles so i think they move when he's happy.

Seeing the upper 72 devils have just horns and nawt a tail or wings in sight (even tho rando npc devils in some illustrations have them) made me So Sad i am a tail enjoyer so i gave him a thick one! combining this point with the little notes below it: the 3 spikes/protrustions towards the base are VERY sensitive like devil horns he'd enjoy having them rubbed. the main tail has a lizard skin feel and he has very good control over it and would wrap it around the mc or use it to hold up sitri after drinking (so that point should say prehensile not tactile i forgot the word lol). i also picked a thicker tail for him bc i think it'd be good for stability as well with his use of larger weapons like the blood scythe and the canon. the spade end is about as sensitive as the back of the hand so rubbing you thumb on it in circles would be calming for him (<-do this when he's upset)

despite being a body hair enjoyer i dont draw him with much BUT he has very thick pubic hair and armpit hair. you cannot take happy trail satan away from me

his main jumpsuit has kind of a tail sleeve in the back w/ an elastic ring to fit snug around his tail. devils with larger tails also usually wear underwear with an extra strap to keep them up around their tails but satan doesn't bother and the extra straps bother him because of how they fit. the tail sleeve on his jumpsuit is as much as you're getting out of him without the whole back being open

Not much time at all has passed between ch1 and ch4 (honestly i feel like its probably only been at most 3 days. somewhere in that range but less than a week) so i think the damage to the back of his back is still very visible and there's damage to his tail as well. it has healed greatly however which is why its still a much smaller section. all of the other scars around his body are old and he pays much more attention to taking care of injuries that would be more visible if they scar (like any on his arms and the front of his torso) so more scars are visible on his legs and back

tumblr is gonna murder thee FUCK out the quality but old plum for u (a prune perhaps) o7 i got tired.

age changes:

never rly settled on an age for plum but in human years hes likely in his 20s. older plum would beee abt late 60s? hes still got a long time living though

as he gets older his ears start to droop and his fins have more rigid edges where they used to be smooth

his hair gets darker and longer! which is scary bc his hair is already long enough never expect me to draw a full body prune ok.

the black areas along his neck and forearms become lighter to a degree and on his arms they spread higher

the "antennae" (bunny ears) on his head get longer! since they're heavier they no longer stick up. hes a floppy bunny slug mermaid now

other patterns around his body either change in that they become more misshapen, or he just has new ones

i dont have like a full ocverse planned out w/ him but some of his backstory is he was taken in by a priestess named iemanjah (who serves a temple of the same name, its not for her though she's just a descendent of the sea goddess) so he grew up in that temple and when he's older he probably comes back to take care of it when iemanjah decides its finally time for her to leave her post for a while to be with her lover while she still has the time. so older plum is in his guy-sweeping-the-temple-entrance era. he isn't a priest himself though he really is just some guy at the temple (but a lot of the new jewelery he has include the temple emblem)
