Taken by surprise at Blank’s sudden, swift movement, Lucina winced slightly. He had been keeping to himself, after all. Her eyes followed the direction he was pointing at, she realized he was talking about the animals flying around over the city.
“Those? They’re pegasi. Winged horses.” Majestic creatures, and slightly odd once you thought more deeply about it. But, why look at a gift horse in the mouth?
Tumblr media
“Difficult to ride, from my experiences. Though, to be frank, it was mostly due to my horrible airsickness.”
“Whoa—” Blank quickly held onto to mount when the horse’s speed increased. He was taken off guard by it, remembering he was on a living creature. Gazing up to where she pointed previously, Blank blinked, his attention brought to the flying creatures in the sky.
“What are those?” he inquired, pointing up quickly before pulling his hand back down.
Tumblr media
They seemed too big to be birds and too small to be, well, angels… Quite frankly, Blank was a bit jealous of them.

A small smile curled up on Lucina’s lips, a nod following afterwards. The mage was unexpectedly supportive--to her anyway. Way to judge a book by his cover, Lucy.
“Thank you.”
She held the lance at its center and adjusted her stance. The princess took a deep breath and concentrated on where she would aim for minimal damage to her sparring partner. It was a mock battle, she wasn’t challenging him to the death.
She stepped forward and thrusted the lance for a quick jab.
Tumblr media
“Here I go!”
Tumblr media
“Sure, its no big cawtastrophe.. I’m having fun! Nya ha ha!”
The silver haired sorcerer let out a laugh, trying to allow Lucina to lighten up just a little bit. He then adjusted his footing placement again and got into a steady stance. He held on to his tome, but then spoke up.
“I don’t wanna weaken ya too much, lets have you get the first attack this time!”
The Plegian mage’s face was beaming with his usual smile. He seemed to really be enjoying this mock battle. It was true he liked the real bloodshed of actual battles, but  helping out the other Shepherds was also important to him.

She laughed lightheartedly and nodded. His enthusiasm brought a smile to her face. And frankly, she was glad to have invited him. She was feeling hungry as well.
Tumblr media
“Alright then, let’s go!” Then she realized something. “Mm... Alexios? Would your wings bring a lot of attention?”
Hearing the words ‘treat’ and ‘eat’, Alexios’ face lit up, starting to jump up and down a bit in excitement over food.
Tumblr media
“Yes please!!” To be quite honest, he was beginning to feel hungry; then again, when isn’t he hungry? He just hoped she’d buy him a ton of candy or sweets, though he wouldnt mind some soup or stew.

“That makes sense.” Lucina agreed. With her inquiries, she had learned much more about the individual Alexios than of the goddess , but she didn’t really mind. He was interesting to learn about. Hopefully she didn’t intrude too much on his personal life--talking about your creation is about as personal as it gets.
Tumblr media
“Say, Alexios,” Lucina began, a smile growing on her lips. “As thanks to responding to my multitude of questions, how about I treat you to something to eat?”
He was beginning to look a little frustrated, so she thought it’d be best to change the topic entirely.
“Yeah…it’s pretty dangerous…” Was all Alexios said before nodding in response to Lucina’s question. Of course he asked her, didn’t really get much of an answer from his goddess however. Well, besides the whole Mirror of Truth bit, that was it really.
“I have, didn’t really get any good answers about it.” He would have asked the one who had created him in the first place, but he doubted the angel would actually give a complete answer.
Tumblr media
“I mean it’s kinda expected, since the mirror of Truth isn’t in her domain, of course she wouldn’t exactly have much info on it.”

Lucina listened carefully and took mental notes. Underworld--the land under the Overworld. Overworld--what Lucina assumed was her current realm, the land in between the Under and Sky worlds. Skyworld--the land above the Overworld, AKA Alexios’ home. She appreciated the simplicity of how their world was built. If only everything was that simple.
“The Mirror of Truth... sounds dangerous, to be completely honest with you. If someone were to get a hold of it, they could create enourmous armies. It seems like a terrifying weapon. It puts me at ease that it’s broken...
Tumblr media
“Anyone would be frightened to see a clone of themselves,” Lucina chuckled nervously. A close friend of hers had experienced something similar, and it never failed to give her shivers.
“Have you ever asked your goddess--Palutena, was it?--about your creation?”
“Ah, well, in the Underworld—the land that’s under the overworld— there’s this Mirror of Truth, it can create a perfect copy of whoever walked through said mirror, or rather it creates the truth of said person…” Alexios said, starting to rub his right arm.
“I, came out of that mirror. The angel who had created me with that mirror was messing around with it. When he touched it, I grabbed his hand wanting to get out, of course because of that he panicked and screamed, resulting in him kicking and breaking the mirror….” That was only because Alexios had caught him off guard, it was to be expected really.
He takes a deep breathe and continues his explanation, “The breaking of the mirror also resulted in, well, the creation of me, that’s all i’ve been able to understand though.”

The magic aimed towards her hit her, just barely. She felt weaker--obviously. This is dark magic she is up against here, she doubted it’d have any positive effects. Except maybe towards the user.
A “tch” was muttered and using her new reach she stepped forward to charge and attempted to do damage. Attempted. Lucina was still not accustomed to the balance of lances and the tip pulled her farther than she wanted. She stumbled and cursed--rotten lance, useless item, how she wished she could shove it up Grima’s--.
Tumblr media
Lucina’s first attack failed miserably.
“Sorry abou that, Henry. Let’s try this again. Practice makes perfect, after all.”
“Okay lets do this! Nya ha ha!”
Henry adjusted his footing placement, and with a flick of his wrist his tome was opened. He muttered the words of the ancient language in which the tome was written, focusing the tome’s energy towards Lucina.
A flood of galaxy purple and black began to head towards the bluenettte, the magic had begun and his attack had been fired. His brow furrowed as he focused the magic energy onto his target.

“Almost there, you see those those structures over there?”
She pointed in front of them, where a large city was becoming visible. Protected by a wall and the few patrolling pegasi dotting the sky, the capital of Ylisse still looked large and held an air of bustling business. It was highly populated and was one of the safest places in the halidom, as well as home to the royal family.
The horse began to gallop much faster, its clops muffled by the grass.
Tumblr media
“Ylisstol bound!”
A small smile crawled onto his face at that, letting a small chuckle escape his lips. He couldn’t help it; she seemed so happy to be teaching him about her home and its people— more specifically, the Exalt. Blank wondered if she knew him? She most likely did, considering her attire. He was still wondering if she was royalty or simply a guard or something… Somewhere high up.
The angel reminded himself to keep up a humble attitude. Though he may be higher than them, he certainly could taint a certain Goddess’ reputation. After all, the actions of children usually reflect their parents, and though they hardly had that relationship, they certainly did in this world.
Tumblr media
“So, how far until we get to Ylisse?”

Lucina’s confusion grew more and more, but she was dedicated. She was intent to figure out this particular angel’s situation, since now it seemed he was a bit different than others... Well, she assumed. Lucina wasn’t sure how exactly an angel could create another angel.
And another thing--there where hardly any angels?
“Wait, can you explain that again? How did another angel create you? And, there aren’t any angels except you and another? How?”
“Well, I’d say less than a year just to be safe, but yes I was created.” From a mirror.
Tumblr media
“I can only speak for myself on being created since, there’s not really any angels beside me and the one who actually created me…” And even then, said other angel wouldn’t tell him, neither would Palutena.

“Now, at least. We weren’t without our problems--especially in the past. Let’s say our Exalt quite a while back... well, he began tensions between Ylisse and Plegia. But my father and his milita, they made it all better. The current Exalt surely is one to be admired.”
Her eyes sparkled the more she spoke about their current ruler. She was probably sugar-coating him, mostly because she admired that individual that was her father. In all honesty, he was quite awkward and even years of power later, he still hasn’t grown accustomed to it. He was one for the battlefield, afterall.
Tumblr media
“I’d hope so!”
Folding his wings against his back, Blank nodded while listening intently to the female. She seemed very excited to talk about her home, which was more than he could say. With a slight hum, the raven nodded.
“No, you didn’t,” he replied, pulling at his shirt in the back with his thumbs, sliding his wings in. It felt safer that way. “Ylisse seems like the ideal place to retire.”
Tumblr media
“I’m sure my mother would love to learn about this when I get back.”
He pondered over the history told about Ylisse. They avoided wars, and were at an age of peace. Interesting. Whereas Blank and Palutena spent their lives intervening in wars and settling them, or at least trying to. Why weren’t all humans like the inhabitants of Ylisse?

Watching him withdraw his weapon, a leather-covered book colored a deep violet, Lucina herself began to prepare herself for battle. She gripped her currently equipped lance in the middle--as she had seen Cynthia hold it--and readied herself.
Hopefully she didn’t trip over herself like her past failed practices.
Tumblr media
“Ready.”
Henry smiled as the bluenette accepted his offer. He was delighted that his offer had been accepted and that he would be of some help to Lucina. He got into a battle stance, and held onto the tome tucked away within his cloak.
Tumblr media
“Nya ha ha! This should be lots of fun! Are you ready?”

“Haah?”
Only a little while? Cue Lucina’s confusion.
“Wait, so were you born recently?” He didn’t look too young. “--Or are angels created?”
He gives a big shrug to Lucina’s question. “Honestly? I wouldn’t really know, I’ve only known her for a short while…”
