"So, how are you, Kiara?" Nile questioned once they took a seat at a table by the window. "Kyoya told me you weren't feeling too well."
"I'm okay," the girl answered. "Definitely doing better than yesterday. My nose is still stuffy though."
"You should get something warm to drink," Demure suggested.
"Oh, I don't like hot drinks," Kiara chuckled. "I'll always get an iced coffee or tea."
"Even when you're ill?" Nile enquired.
"What about those days where it's freezing and you're sitting by a fire with a warm drink?" Demure added. "You don't do that?"
"Nope," the girl giggled. "Everyone says I'm missing out."
"Definitely," Demure commented.
"Well, how would you know?" Kiara began. "This is Africa. I'm sure it's boiling hot here all the time. I bet you guys have never even seen snow."
"You may be right in that we've never seen snow," Nile admitted. "But it does get cold sometimes, especially in the winter of course. So yeah, we know. And yeah, you're missing out."
"Whatever," Kiara laughed before taking a sip of the iced tea the waiter had brought her. The other two decided to order hot drinks, Nile a coffee and Demure a hot chocolate. All three of them spent a couple of hours in the cafe, talking about all sorts of things and getting to know each other better; the Japanese blader soon learned that Nile came from Egypt, whilst Demure was from Savanna. Kiara and Nile instantly clicked, the two of them conversing as if they had known each other their entire lives, and although Demure was on the quieter side, Kiara made sure to include him in the conversations and make him feel like he wasn't being left out.
The sky outside had darkened, marking the end of the day; Kiara, Nile, and Demure had left the cafe, strolling slowly through the streets, before the girl spotted a stray cat at the corner of the next street over.
"Oh my god, it's a cat!" she squealed, walking slowly towards the snow-white cat with her hand out. "Don't be scared, I won't hurt you."
"How do you know it won't run away?" Nile questioned as he observed the girl.
"Just watch," Kiara smiled, approaching the animal and crouching beside it, gently stroking its soft fur as it nuzzled up against her hand. "See?"
"Oh wow," Demure spoke surprisedly. "It loves you."
"Proved you wrong, didn't I?" Kiara smirked, picking the cat up and carrying it like a baby in her arms before walking towards Demure. "Stroke it. It won't bite."
"What?" he stammered, his eyes wide. "It'll scratch me."
"No it won't," Nile chuckled, standing beside Kiara and stroking the cat. "It's simple."
"Aren't you just a cute little kitty?" Kiara cooed with delight, gently petting the animal's head before looking up at Nile, a wide grin plastered on her face. "Do you think we'd be able to keep it? Wouldn't that be awesome?"
"No," Kiara heard Kyoya say, turning around and noticing him glare at Nile for a split second before his gaze shifted back to her. Did I see that right? she internally questioned.
"Kyoya?" she uttered.
"You're back," Demure spoke.
"Put the cat down," Kyoya ordered. Kiara took one final glance at the animal, stroking its soft fur for the last time before letting it go. "It's late. Let's go."
"Where?" Nile questioned.
"Wherever this is," Kyoya answered, reaching for his back pocket and retrieving a folded piece of paper, handing it to Nile before crossing his arms. The Egyptian blader opened it up, reading it whilst Kiara began to speak.
"What is that?" she questioned.
"The president gave it to me earlier," Kyoya answered. "They're providing an apartment for us to stay in while we're here since apparently the first round for us will be a home match."
"That means it'll be here in Savanna," Demure smiled. "Who are we up against? Do you know?"
"Team Dynasty," Kyoya replied. "The South Korean team."
"That sounds exciting," Kiara commented.
"I heard their leader is really strong," Demure spoke.
"So what?" Kiara retaliated. "Our leader will defeat them easily."
"And who might that be?" Nile questioned.
"Kyoya of course," Kiara answered, earning a questioning look from the others. "Just look at him. He's fit to be a leader."
"You got that right," the green-haired blader smugly smirked.
"I guess?" Demure spoke.
"I don't really see it, but okay," Nile added, chuckling once he received a glare from Kyoya. "Calm your tits. Take a joke, bro."
"Don't 'bro' me," Kyoya remarked.
"You'll see what I mean eventually, Nile" Kiara sighed.
"So, where's the place?" Kyoya enquired, growing impatient.
"I'm not from here so I have no idea," Nile responded, handing the sheet to Demure. "You should know."
"Why didn't you just say that from the start?" the green-haired blader growled.
"Let me see," Demure murmured, studying the writing before looking around in an attempt to identify where they currently were. "It's not too far from here, actually," he realised, informing the rest of them as he led the way. "It should be a 10 minute walk or so."
The others began to follow the black-haired boy and eventually found themselves in a four bedroom apartment with a living and kitchen space large enough for them all. The newly formed team spent the night there before starting on another trek the next morning, Kiara unable to rest like she had originally planned.
"Why are we on another journey?" Kiara complained, her voice raspy and her nose congested.
"It was Kyoya's idea," Nile informed her, walking beside her as the green-haired blader trudged ahead with Demure.
"But he told me I'd be able to rest," Kiara sulked. "Especially after the long trek from the airport to the city yesterday!"
"Well," Nile continued. "Apparently, he really wanted to come here."
"Here?" Kiara whined. "Of all places?"

"It's so hot!" Kiara screeched, flopping onto the first bed her eyes made contact with.
"We're in Africa," Kyoya deadpanned, closing the door behind them, making sure it was locked. "What did you expect?"
"I know, but I didn't think it'd be this bad!"
"Deal with it."
The two bladers, after an exhaustingly long flight, had booked a room in the hotel near the airport for the night, a place to get some rest before the journey that awaited them the following morning. The room was quite spacious; it had a small open kitchen in one corner with a couple of stools by the counter, a couch in front of a TV in the adjacent corner, two single beds that were quite spaced apart, a bathroom by the front door, and a balcony.
"There's a balcony?!" Kiara exclaimed as she spotted a sliding door on the wall opposite the room's entrance, rushing towards it in excitement before pulling the door open and stepping outside. "This is awesome! At least I won't drown in sweat now since I can just stay outside."
"With that outfit, you'll drown in sweat anywhere," Kyoya commented, gesturing to the layers of clothing Kiara wore.
"Ah, you're right," Kiara chuckled, making her way inside and rummaging through her backpack for lighter clothes. "Okay, I'm getting changed first."
The girl immediately dashed to the bathroom, locking the door before throwing off her clothes and slipping into some comfortable, baggy beige bottoms and a simple white cami top, removing all jewellery but her nose ring. Once she was done, she stepped back into the room, leaving her clothes sprawled on the bed on the leftmost side of the room, the same bed she claimed as soon as she had entered the hotel room.
"I'm done," she announced as she headed straight for the balcony, unseen by her travel partner who was occupied retrieving a bottle of cold water from the fridge and gulping it down, before heading into the bathroom to change into grey bottoms and a white vest.ย
After he had changed, Kyoya made his way back into the room and instantly spotted Kiara leaning against the glass walls of the balcony, staring down at the bustling city below as her long brown hair flowed gently in the cool breeze. He gazed softly at the sight in front of him, a slight smile forming on his face. Why was he smiling? He had no idea. In fact, he was completely unaware that such an expression had even crept up onto his face. Did he like her? No. Impossible. At least that was what he told himself when he finally realised that he was staring at his travel partner, his eyes frantically searching for something other than her to look at. Sure, he wasn't the kindest person towards her, but he was never truly kind to anyone so it didn't make a difference here. However, something about her had had an effect on him, but again, he was oblivious to it all.ย
Soon enough, the boy's ice-blue eyes made their way back to the girl before noticing something on her right arm. He took a few steps towards her, and studied her carefully, inspecting what he had now identified to be a large scar that began somewhere on her back and ended at the middle of her upper arm. Kyoya finally made his way outside, gently placing his hand on Kiara's arm, unexpectedly ending the short moment she spent under the warm rays of the brilliant sun.
"What's this?" he asked, his voice soft yet laced with concern. Kiara's golden eyes shot open, her gaze focused on her arm as she flinched at Kyoya's touch, her body moving away from the boy, causing him to retract his arm and let it fall beside him.
"It's a scar," she whispered, her fragile voice noticed by the boy. She paused momentarily before continuing, answering the question that had not yet escaped his lips. "It's from a fire. The one that killed my parents... and Haru." Kiara's gaze shifted to the setting sun above, shielding her expression from her travel partner, as she began reminiscing about the time she spent with her younger brother Haru. She was unable to explain how much she missed both him and her parents, and just how strong her desire to turn back time was just to be able to be with them again. Tears escaped her eyes as she thought back to the days that she and Tsubasa would entertain Haru, telling him silly jokes and earning the sweetest, most adorable giggles from the baby.
"Kiara..." Kyoya muttered, his ocean-blue eyes fixated on the girl. He was ignored as she walked inside, shutting the door behind her, and retreating under her covers in order to fall asleep and escape her traumatising memories.ย
The boy could do nothing but watch Kiara as her emotions overcame her, his expression softening as he witnessed the vulnerable state she was in, something he'd only seen once before. He turned back to face the setting sun, the golden glow illuminating his features and causing his azure eyes to glimmer. Kyoya became lost in his thoughts, wondering what to do in order to cheer the girl up, his mind clouded with a myriad of things they could do for the fraction of the day that remained. His eyes suddenly widened in realisation after noticing a small stream not far from where they were staying. A walk by the river at sunset, he concluded. She loves that shit. Kyoya rushed inside, closing the balcony door, calling the girl's name a couple times before making his way to her bed, crouching beside it and gently lifting the blanket from her head.
"Kiara?"
Upon uncovering her face, Kyoya was instantly met with Kiara's peaceful expression as she slept, her head resting on her hand, her long dark brown locks covering her features. The boy gently brushed the hairs away from her face and tucked them behind her ears, gazing at her, a faint smile forming on his face. Unbeknownst to Kyoya, his hand remained on the girl's cheek for a short while, the green-haired blader only realising and moving it once she had begun to stir in her sleep. How long have I been here? he questioned himself.ย
He immediately stood back up only to be met with the sun disappearing into the horizon and the darkening sky unveiling its hidden stars, the moon glowing iridescently as it succeeded the sun, lighting up the world beneath. For fuck's sake, Kyoya sighed, making his way to the other bed in the room and lying down, looking up at the ceiling with his hands behind his head. How many times am I going to catch myself staring at her? The boy continued to question his strange actions for a short while, constantly tossing and turning in his bed before finally falling asleep after he concluded that it would be a waste of time to ponder on such things.
Kiara suddenly awoke in a cold sweat, gasping for air as she placed her hand on her chest to calm herself down. It was just another fucking nightmare, she internally concluded, taking deep breaths in and exhaling. Looking over to her right, she noticed Kyoya asleep, his usually wild expression seeming tamed and peaceful. At least he's getting good sleep, she smiled to herself. She then began searching for a clock, finding it hanging on the wall seconds later. 2am? Great. I barely got enough sleep. As usual.
Kiara made her way to the balcony, sliding the door open gently so as not to wake her sleeping travel partner, and stepped foot onto the cold tiles which momentarily sent shivers up her spine. Gently closing the door behind her, she walked over to one of the two chairs that were situated on either side of the balcony, and seated herself on the rightmost.
The moon's radiant pearly shine illuminated the city below, its silver rays reflecting off of the glass windows on the tall buildings that towered over the city. Stars twinkled brightly above Kiara's head, decorating the sky above, a sight she always treasured no matter how often she was able to witness it. The gentle breeze swayed her soft hair towards her left, getting in the way of her golden eyes, causing her to gently tuck the dark brown strands behind her ears.
For Kiara, right now, being awake felt much more peaceful than being asleep. She decided that she'd rather spend the entire night on this balcony, gazing at the wondrous beauty of nature, and feeling both inner and outer peace, than sleep and encounter those horrifying experiences once again. Of course she was tired, she hadn't gotten much sleep at all, but she knew that she had to force herself awake if she wanted to escape her fears. A few moments passed before the girl began singing the lyrics to her favourite song, her voice quiet yet angelic and harmonious.
Meanwhile, Kyoya stirred in his sleep, opening his eyes in order to briefly check the time, which he concluded was 2:30am. He began to readjust his position in bed when he heard the sweetest melody being sung by his travel partner, her voice soothing to his ears and calming to his soul.ย Ah, she's singing again, he thought, smiling slightly as he propped himself up on the bed, making himself comfortable. The girl sang, just not as often as Kyoya himself would've liked, so he made sure to savour it every time he had the chance. But why is she awake? he soon wondered. Is she okay? He decided to wait until she had stopped singing before he tried to speak to her and find out what had woken her up at a time like this.

I love the implication that the Dark Nebula bladers are paid salaries. Can you imagine being Tetsuyaโ€™s manager?

I think I know why we didnโ€™t see the Wild Fang more during the show.
In Beyblade Metal Masters, they personify the rival team. The one who could have win against the Gan Gan Galaxy. They are strong, class and honorable (and, yes, I love them xD)
If they had more screentime, however, we would have seen the truth of their travels : Kyouya driving Nile and Damure crazy.

Metal Masters
"Ah! It's already started!" Kiara exclaimed as she entered the stadium, immediately being met with crowds of bladers who battled fiercely in order to collect as many points as possible. Her eyes frantically searched the arena for a familiar green-haired blader, rushing to his side as soon as she spotted him. "How late am I?"
"An hour," Kyoya responded.
"And you didn't wake me up because?" she remarked.
"I forgot," he lied. In reality, Kyoya didn't give two shits whether she woke up on time or not. He had purposely let her sleep in simply because he couldn't be bothered dealing with the amount of time it took her to get ready; it would just be a waste of his time and all she would do was slow him down.ย Plus, she sometimes threw one hell of a tantrum whenever she was woken up, and on a day like this, that was the last thing Kyoya wanted to deal with.
"You what?!"
"Look, there's still two hours left," he informed her. "I don't know why you're wasting your time talking to me."
"Two hours," the girl repeated to herself. "That should be enough time, right?" She sped off towards one of the bey stadiums and began battling any and all bladers around her, defeating them all in an instant and gathering as many points as she could. I have to make it into the top four, she told herself.ย
It had been a year since the end of Battle Bladers. Kyoya and Kiara had recently returned to Metal Bey City after another exhausting yet thrilling training journey in Wolf Canyon, having become much stronger bladers as a result. The two of them, as well as many others across the country, were currently participating in a qualification tournament in which the top four bladers to gather the most points in three hours would earn the opportunity to become a representative for the Japanese team at the Beyblade World Championships, an international beyblade competition which would ultimately decide the strongest bladers in the world.
"Here we go. It's time to announce the results!" Blader DJ began after the two hours had passed. Already?! Kiara exclaimed internally. But I wasn't done yet! "The average number of points earned by the participants is eighty-seven, so you have to do better than that to make it. Which four have passed the qualifying round? Check it out! Tetsuya failed to qualify. Next! Tobio, Teru, and Ryutaro also failed to reach the next level. Unbelievable. So many strong bladers failed to qualify one after another, leaving only seven remaining."
"My name hasn't been mentioned yet. Could I be in the top four?" Kiara thought aloud. "I should have made it. Come on."
"Kenta, Benkei, and Kiara all gone," Blader DJ continued. "Too bad, so sad."
"Oh, for fuck's sake!" Kiara exclaimed, looking at the screen which displayed her name next to the number of points she had earned: 298. "I came fifth?!"
"Hold on dear beys, boys, and girls," Blader DJ declared. "It's time to announce the final four qualifiers! In fourth place: Yu, with 300 points!"
"Literally two points off!" the girl cried. "One more battle and I could've made it!"
"Next, in third place, with 350 total points, Masamune!"
"Who the fuck is he?" Kiara questioned, glancing at the picture displayed next to his name; a boy with black hair, a single red streak sticking out from the front of his head, and wide brown eyes. "Never seen him before. Where did such a strong blader come from?"
"And second place goes to, with 370 points, Tsubasa!"
"Awww, yay," she smiled. "At least one of us gets to go."
"And, on the top of the qualifying round, having earned 500 bey points," Blader DJ began.
"Woah, 500?" Kiara gasped. "In only three hours?!"
"And, the winner is, Kyoya!"
Kiara smiled as she looked over to the green-haired blader who stood proudly at the opposite side of the arena. "I'm not surprised at that one."
"That's the scoop! The four qualifiers have been decided. There are two more tickets to the Beyblade World Championships still up for grabs. So folks, who will take them?"
"So, you made first place. I'm not surprised," Kiara congratulated as she made her way over to Kyoya, a proud smirk forming on his face before instantly dropping once the girl continued to speak. "But it's not fair. If I had just woken up earlier, I definitely would've made it. It's all your fault. You should have woken me up! How do you even forget that I'm with you?!"
"Stop whining already," Kyoya remarked, annoyed.
"What do you mean 'stop whining'?" Kiara retorted. "This is the World Championships we're talking about, and I just about missed the opportunity to enter a tournament like that with bladers as strong as you and Gingka. Imagine all of us on the same team! Wouldn't that be awesome?!"
"Me and Gingka on the same team? What a joke," Kyoya scoffed, crossing his arms. "Did you forget that my sole purpose is to defeat him? How am I gonna do that if I'm on his team?"
"Oh, yeah..." Kiara chuckled in realisation. "Wait, does that mean you won't be joining the Japanese team?!"
"Precisely."
"So why did you join this tournament then?"
"I'm only here to battle and show Gingka just how strong I've become after all my training."
"Seriously?!" Kiara screeched. "You know, if it wasn't for you, I could've had a chance at being on the team!"
"Shut up," Kyoya growled as he noticed the crowds of bladers looking their way. "You're loud as fuck and it's drawing attention."
"I'm never going to forgive you for this, just know that," Kiara retaliated, ignoring him.
"Japan isn't the only country going to the World Championships, you know," Kyoya spoke, tired of the girl's endless complaining. "You can just join the representative team for another country if you want to attend that badly."
"Like what, huh?"
"Like Africa."
"Africa isn't a country, you dumbass."
"I know that. Do you think I'm some kind of uneducated fool?" Kyoya deadpanned. "Anyways, listen. They're holding a qualifying tournament that's open to anyone from around the world and the team will represent the continent of Africa."
"How do you know that?"
"I know that because I needed a way to battle Gingka in the championships. How many more questions are you going to ask?"
"Just one more. One more."
"Yes, you can come. Just don't get on my nerves."
"Wha- How did you know I was going to ask to go with you?"
"Because you've been whining this entire time about not getting into the Japanese team," the boy sighed, stating the obvious. "Anyways, the next round will start soon. Let's go."

Kiara groaned as she woke up, sitting up in the bed she lay in, Tsubasa immediately coming to her aid.
"Are you okay?" he asked, concern plastered on his face as he helped her up.
"Yeah, I'm okay," Kiara responded. The girl felt fine; her head might have been pounding, however she didn't want her brother to worry about her. If anything, she was completely distracted from the ache by thoughts of her trainer. His last battle had left him in a state she had never imagined she would witness, and at that moment, all she wanted to know was how he was doing, if he had woken up, if he'd eaten something, whether he was still in pain from the injuries of his semi-final match. "How's Kyoya?"
"He's okay," Tsubasa responded. "He's in the other room eating breakfast."
"That's good," Kiara sighed, smiling slightly. She and Kyoya had yet to talk face to face since their battle, meaning the air between them hadn't been completely cleared, however Kiara felt at peace knowing that he was doing well. The anger she had for him days ago had completely vanished, not a single trace of it left in the girl's heart. She suddenly felt Tsubasa's hand on her shoulder, distracting her from her thoughts about the green-haired blader.
"Here," he spoke as he retrieved the girl's golden clasp, placing it in her palm, softly smiling as she put it in her hair. "Gingka won."
"Really?" she gasped in shock. "He defeated Ryuga?"
"Mmhm," her brother nodded. "It was horrifying to watch, honestly. Ryuga was possessed by L-Drago again and it turned him into a complete monster."
"Oh, god," was all that could escape the girl's lips; she was grateful she hadn't been there to witness the battle since all it would've done was scarred her. She sat in silence as she glanced out of the window at the radiant sun shining high in the sapphire-blue sky, her mind clouded with thoughts of her best friend's wellbeing, wondering how he was since surely his battle with Ryuga would've taken some sort of toll on him. "Can we go see Gingka?" she asked, turning to her brother.
"Yeah," Tsubasa responded. "Eat something first. I'll tell the others to come along."
Tsubasa left his sister in the room to eat breakfast and change back into her clothes from the gown she had been put in. Once she was ready to go, she met up with her brother who had brought Kyoya and Hikaru with him, the four of them then making their way towards the front entrance of the stadium.
"Looks like we missed all the fun, huh?" Hikaru spoke as they approached the entrance.
"Yeah, Hikaru," Tsubasa replied. "But the future of beyblade has been assured."
"I could've done it with one hand tied behind my back," Kyoya commented, causing Kiara to roll her eyes and laugh silently. Typical Kyoya, she thought.
"Gingky is the biggest baddest blader!" Yu exclaimed happily as the four bladers made their way outside. "Ha!"
"You've kind of left us all the dust now, huh, Gingka?" Hyoma questioned, smiling proudly at his childhood friend.
"That's not true," Gingka replied. "The reason I was able to win was because I had everyone's support."
"That's right!" Kiara beamed as she dashed to the red-haired blader and hugged him.
"You did it, Gingka," Hikaru congratulated.
"Congratulations," Tsubasa added as Kyoya smirked.
"Kiara, Hikaru, Tsubasa, Kyoya!" Gingka exclaimed as his golden-brown eyes met the four.
"Huh?" Benkei gasped, turning around to face the direction Gingka was looking, being met with his idol standing in front of him and rushing to embrace him in a lung-crushing hug. "Kyoya buddy! B-b-bull!"
"Get a grip," Kyoya sighed, pushing Benkei away in order to avoid his hug, causing everyone to laugh.
"You truly did well, Gingka," Ryo spoke, crouching down to meet his son's height. "Because you worked so hard, all your friends' spirits became one for the first time. I'm very proud of you."
"Thank you dad," the boy smiled before his eyes widened. "But dad! Pegasus has... Pegasus has... disappeared!"
"Pegasus disappeared?!" Kiara exclaimed.
"I'm afraid so," Ryo answered. "In the final battle with L-Drago, Pegasus fought so hard that it must've used up all of the power that it possessed. In order to win against the dark force, Pegasus had the use of everyone's power but it kept fighting past its limits. Just don't worry about it right now, Gingka. Once it has rested its wings somewhere, there's a good chance that it will regain its strength and return."
"Thank you, Pegasus," Gingka whispered, smiling softly as he looked up to the sky, before turning to face his friends. "Everyone, our battle isn't over. In fact, it's just beginning. We'll be facing new bey battles, so let's give it our all, okay? Are you ready?"
"Yeah!"
That evening, Kiara made her way to the river, taking a seat on the bench by the bank, relaxing to the calming sound of the gentle waves that the river produced, the golden hues of the setting sun reflecting off of the water, causing it to glitter and sparkle. The area was surrounded by trees that towered high over the girl's head, its branches adorned with emerald-green leaves and lined with flocks of birds that sang harmoniously.
Kiara slowly laid back against the bench, looking up to study the soft strokes of pink, purple, and yellow that decorated the sky above, reflecting on the outcome of her battle with Ryuga. What would've happened if I had won?ย she wondered. I don't think it would have made a difference. The girl began to realise that no matter the result of the battle with her ex, which she had worked so hard for, he would've continued to remain power hungry; nothing could change the ways of that man.
~ ~ ~
"Beyblade isn't about revenge."
"It's something that's meant to be enjoyed, not used for your own personal gains. I know what he did was wrong, and I'm not saying that I support his actions at all. I just want you to think about what beyblading really means to you, okay?"
~ ~ ~
The cool air entered Kiara's lungs, revitalising her body as she breathed, a faint smile forming on her face as her golden eyes glistened brightly in the rays of the orange sun, her mind filled with the recollection of Gingka's words from when they first met. He was right all along. Kiara realised that her thirst for revenge was pointless, and that it would ultimately lead to no change, just as Gingka had told her. There was no personal gain she could obtain by defeating Ryuga in battle, and it also wasn't the reason she had originally stepped into the world of beyblade either; Tsubasa was the reason for it all. She was grateful for having finally found him after all those years, for having formed close bonds with many individuals along the way, and for having been able to obtain a new bey, learning to connect with it and grow stronger.
A sense of serenity enveloped her as she finalised her decision to let go of the past; it was obvious she wouldn't be able to forget anything that had happened, and she would never forgive Ryuga for the way he slandered her family that day, or for how he hurt both Tsubasa and Kyoya during battle, but she refused to let that overwhelm her and affect the relationships she had formed with those who simply cared about her. She accepted that pushing those people away would do nothing but make her feel worse, and she was aware of how freeing it felt to share her feelings with those she trusted. Kiara had expected to feel somewhat of a weight lifted off of her shoulders, yet she continued to feel a sense of uneasiness. Something wasn't right.

In the short while between the end of Gingka's battle and the start of Kyoya's, Kiara and her brother had met up with the red-haired blader after searching the stadium, and spotted a taller man beside him who shared similar features. Kiara's eyes widened in shock upon seeing the man carrying Yu on his back, worriedly asking what had happened for the boy to look so defeated. She, along with everyone else, had made their way to one of the preparation rooms, where it was revealed that this strange taller man was in fact Gingka's father and that he had been disguised as Phoenix in order to help Gingka become a stronger blader; she felt sympathy for her best friend upon discovering that his father had hidden from him that he remained alive after the incident in Koma Village she had been told about when Ryuga, along with the help of Doji, had stolen the forbidden L-Drago from Mount Hagane, trapping Gingka's father in the ruins of the mountain. Her worry only increased when she was informed of Yu being kidnapped by the Dark Nebula, Hyoma and Kenta going to the headquarters during Gingka's battle in order to save him.
"Why didn't you tell me about that?" Kiara questioned.
"Because you were with Tsubasa," Madoka answered. "You were already so stressed out from everything that happened yesterday. I figured you just needed to rest."
"It's okay, Kiara," Hyoma added. "We were able to bring Yu back."
"I'm just glad he's safe," Kiara smiled at Yu, ruffling his hair. She had built with him the same sibling-like relationship she shared with Kenta and Madoka, and always made sure to be their older sister figure whenever they needed one.
A short while passed before it was time for Kyoya's battle with Ryuga.
"Boom! At last the second battle of the semi-finals is ready to go!" Blader DJ announced. "There's no tomorrow for the loser of this one, cause there's only one more spot in the Battle Bladers final! Will the dragon swallow up the lion? Or will the lion take down the dragon with its awesome jungle power? It's Ryuga versus Kyoya! This big, bad battle that will decide the final pairing for Battle Bladers starts right now! So, which one of them will be left spinning for the final?"
Kiara had walked Tsubasa back to the medical room in order for him to rest there while she watched the battle from the audience.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" he asked as she turned to leave.
"I think so," Kiara responded, trying to hide her shaky voice. "Gingka and the others will be there. Don't worry." She left the room, giving her brother a weak smile, and closed the door before she frantically dashed through the hallways as she had heard the sound of the crowd cheering wildly, signifying the start of the battle. Upon arriving at the seating area, Kiara shoved her way to the front of the audience only to witness Kyoya being pushed back by L-Drago's insanely powerful force as it lifted the bey stadium into the air before dropping it back down onto the ground, breaking it into a multitude of pieces and covering the arena in a large cloud of dust. All that was left was an indent in the ground where the stadium once stood. Seconds later, a fierce wind emerged from Leone as it darted the rubble towards Ryuga, Kyoya smirking whilst his opponent growled.
"You don't scare me," Kyoya spoke. "There's nothing you can do that I can't do better. Ryuga, get ready to be smashed into the ground!"
"No need to," Ryuga cackled. "Because you're the one who'll kiss the pavement!"
~ ~ ~
"You're really gonna train me?" she asked excitedly.
"Only if you tell me who this strong opponent is," he answered, diverting his attention back to the river.
"Why do you want to know so badly?"
"It's so I can become stronger and defeat them, and then go on to defeat Gingka."
~ ~ ~
Now's my chance, Kyoya told himself. To defeat Ryuga.
"Time to get the main event started," Blader DJ declared as the others met Kiara in the seating area, taking their seats beside her. "Let's go, bladers! 3! 2! 1! Let it rip!"
The beys were launched, instantly clashing head on and producing a large explosion in the centre of the area, sending Kyoya flying back. However, Kyoya proved that he had in fact not been defeated so easily, gesturing to the tornado that Leone had produced to deflect L-Drago's attack.
"Lion Gale Force Wall!" Kyoya beckoned as Ryuga's bey charged at Leone once again. "How'd you like that? Leone's got more than defence in him."
"Alright!" Benkei exclaimed as he watched L-Drago be attacked by Leone. "That's my buddy, Kyoya!"
"I don't think this is good," Yu suddenly spoke, grasping everyone's attention. "That level of attack won't do anything but slow L-Drago down."
"Dark move!" Ryuga began. "Dragon Emperor Soaring Bite Strike!"
"Answer that attack!" Kyoya retaliated, ordering Leone to use more of its strength to deflect Ryuga's dark move. However, it was unsuccessful; Kyoya was flung against the walls of the arena by the intensity of Ryuga's power, groaning in pain before falling helplessly to the floor.
"It's over!" Ryuga cackled. He can't lose this, Gingka thought. I won't allow it!
~ ~ ~
"Plus, I owe it to Kiara to defeat him."
"I will defeat Ryuga. I'll do it so that I can face you in the final battle."
"And I'll do it for Kiara too."
~ ~ ~
"Kyoya!" Gingka called, standing up amongst the crowd and grasping the attention of the green-haired blader. Kyoya's eyes widened as he stood back up, growling at Ryuga whilst staring daggers into his soul.
"I'm not done!" Kyoya snarled, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"What's this?" Ryuga retorted. "Why aren't you down yet? What's keeping you standing up still?!"

A short while had passed after the traumatising incident. Kiara was seated on a wooden bench in a room with Gingka, Madoka, Yu, Kenta, Kyoya, and Benkei. Everyone's eyes were on the girl whose head hung low, her long dishevelled hair covering her features, concealing her blood red eyes from those around her. Kyoya was in deep thought, thinking back to his battle with Kiara from a couple of matches back.
~ ~ ~
"You don't even know anything to be telling me it's not a big deal. You can't just tell me to forget it all!"
~ ~ ~
Of course she couldn't get it off her mind, Kyoya thought. It must have been traumatising to have seen Ryuga here doing the exact same thing he did to her, to other people. I'm such an idiot. Kyoya observed Gingka hesitating momentarily before making his way towards Kiara, taking a seat on the bench beside her.
"What Ryuga said," the redhead began, pausing for a short while before continuing. "Is it true?" The boy's golden-brown eyes searched Kiara for a response, even the slightest movement would be sufficient. But nothing. He received not a single response from the girl. He gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "Kiar-"
"Leave me alone," she spoke, standing up as soon as Gingka's hand made contact with her. His gaze was unmet as her head remained hung low; she trudged weakly towards the door, struggling briefly before opening it and making her way out of the room, slamming it shut behind her. Gingka immediately got up and followed her, however he was stopped in his tracks by Kyoya, who had also exited the room and shut the door behind him, leaving the two rivals standing alone in the corridor, watching Kiara disappear into the distance.
"Kyoya," Gingka growled, his eyes averting to the green-haired boy that stood before him. "What do you think you're doing?!"
"What do you think you're doing, Gingka?" Kyoya retorted, snarling at the redhead. "She doesn't want to answer your questions, so why run after her?"
"She needs a friend right now, Kyoya," Gingka answered.
"No, she doesn't," the green-haired boy responded. "Right now, she needs Tsubasa. That's who she's needed this entire time."
"What are you talking about?" Gingka enquired, confused by Kyoya's words.
"Listen," Kyoya began. "I don't know if she ever mentioned this to you, but from what she's told me, she got into beyblading in order to find her brother." Gingka's eyes widened. Why did she never tell me that? he internally questioned. "That brother happens to be Tsubasa," Kyoya continued. "And even though she's finally found him, this is definitely the worst way. So, like I said, she needs him. Not you, or anyone else."
"I see," Gingka spoke, his anger for Kyoya subsiding. "I understand."
"As for me, I need to get back at Ryuga," Kyoya thought aloud.
"Huh?" Gingka questioned, puzzled.
"I won't let him get away with what he's done," Kyoya continued. "Plus, I owe it to Kiara to defeat him." Gingka tilted his head to the side, still confused by what Kyoya's point was. "Look. During my battle with Kiara, I hurt her with my words. Told her to forget about her past and not let it distract her as if it was something insignificant. I completely disregarded the fact that it might even be traumatic, let alone on this level. There's still more to her past that none of us know about. But Ryuga, he knows it all. And he's using it against her." Kyoya's gaze met the floor as he clenched his fist and gritted his teeth just thinking back to Ryuga's heartless words from earlier.
~ ~ ~
"What about your parents? Aren't they bladers too? Bring them to me so I can feed off of their power as well! Oh wait. I can't. Cause they're dead!"
"Your younger brother, Haru, would've grown up to be just as strong of a blader as you, and even better for my L-Drago! But unfortunately he's dead too. What a waste."
~ ~ ~
"Gingka," Kyoya spoke, looking back up at his rival. "I will defeat Ryuga. I'll do it so that I can face you in the final battle." He took a few steps towards Gingka in an attempt to walk past him, but paused momentarily once their positions became parallel. "And I'll do it for Kiara too," he whispered, loud enough for the redhead to hear, before continuing on his way to go and train for his semi-final battle. Gingka turned in the direction his rival walked off in, watching him disappear behind the walls of the corridor.
"I know you can do it, Kyoya," he muttered, before pausing momentarily to think. He seems to care so much about Kiara. It's so unlike him to care this much about someone. Is he starting to have feelings for her? he wondered. Gingka went back inside the room where everyone was, and sat on the wooden bench, not saying a single word. Both Kenta and Yu were silently crying, their faces stained with tears.
"Is she okay?" Kenta whispered.
"She'll be okay, right Gingky?" Yu asked, sniffing and rubbing his eyes.
"I don't know," the redhead responded. "I really have no idea."
"Let's just hope she'll be okay soon," Benkei spoke. "By the way, where's Kyoya?"
"He's gone to train for his battle," Gingka answered. Benkei immediately made his way to the door but was stopped by Gingka. "He needs to be alone right now, Benkei."
"But Gingk-"
"Benkei," Gingka warned, making direct eye contact with him.
"I understand," Benkei sighed.
I can't believe Tsubasa's her brother, Kyoya thought, launching his bey at a tree in the nearby forest that he had trekked to. And to think I cared about them being so close. What's gotten into me?
~ ~ ~
A blader for an ex and a blader for a brother too. Her ex seems to be incredibly powerful.
~ ~ ~
So it was Ryuga all along. That bastard. "Leone!" Kyoya instructed his bey to break down a tree. I'll defeat Ryuga. Just watch me, Kiara.

"How could they do such a terrible thing?" Kenta asked with concern laced in his voice, once they had made their way to the preparation room, Kiara carrying Yu in her arms before placing him gently on the wooden bench situated against the wall furthest from the door.
"I just don't get it," Madoka spoke. "Yu was one of their original members, wasn't he?"
"The Dark Nebula organisation will do anything to accomplish their goal," Yu weakly responded. "It doesn't matter whether you're an enemy or an ally. The losers, no matter who they are, are used as power for L-Drago. Even me. Luckily, I managed to escape. But because of that, Libra was badly damaged." Yu turned to look at his broken bey beside him, the result of a brutal battle with Reiji the previous night. "After all the tough battles we've been through together, I'm so sorry, Libra."
"I won't forgive them!" Kenta exclaimed angrily. "I will never forgive them for this! Never! I'll make them pay! They'll pay for what they did to Yu!"
"I appreciate it, Kenchi," Yu began. "But be careful, okay? Reiji is very strong. When I battled Reiji, I thought I had him cornered, but suddenly I found that I was the one with no way out. That's the first time I've ever been really scared and freaked out during a bey battle. All that guy wants to do is completely crush his opponent, and not only the bey. He tries to break the others' blader's spirit and drag them into a bottomless pit of fear and despair. That is not a bey battle. It isn't. I realised that after battling with Kiki and Gingky. A bey battle is the clash of two spirits. It's fun because both bladers give it their all to compete with each other." The boy paused momentarily, fear washing over his olive eyes as they shifted to meet Kenta's gaze. "Kenchi, listen. Watch out for Reiji's dark move. You cannot let yourself be swallowed up by fear."
"Okay," Kenta responded. "I've got it."
"And also." A faint smile formed on Yu's face. "Um. It's just, will you battle with me again sometime?"
"Of course I will," Kenta replied happily.
"Thank you, Kenchi!"
"Kenta," Madoka began. "It's almost time to go." Kenta nodded and began to make his way to the door.
"You guys go ahead," Kiara spoke. "I'll stay here with Yu."
"Wait, Kenchi," Yu uttered, getting up and running to Kenta. "Here." He placed Libra in his hands. "Take Libra with you. Okay, Kenchi? Show it how cool a great blader like you can be!"
"I understand. I'll appreciate your support. Let's fight together, Yu!" Kenta responded before leaving the room with the others. Yu took his place back on the bench beside Kiara to watch the battle which was being broadcast on the TV screen. The two of them had their eyes glued to the TV as the battle between Kenta and Reiji began. Both Sagittario and Serpent charged at each other, colliding with intense power, before Sagittario used the bank of the stadium to leap in the air and land behind its opponent, charging towards it in a counterattack. Reiji ordered his bey to move in a zig-zag pattern away from his opponent, however, Sagittario was able to closely follow it with the Eternal Sharp performance tip that Yu had given him.
"Yes!" Yu exclaimed, grasping Kiara's attention. "He's using Libra's performance tip!"
"The Eternal Sharp?" Kiara questioned, turning back to the TV to study Sagittario closely. "You're right!" she exclaimed, smiling proudly as she watched Kenta's bey chase Reiji's around the stadium. Kenta, you're a genius! Sagittario then clashed with Serpent in a barrage of attacks before using its special move, Flame Claw, and charging at Serpent from above, enveloped by roaring flames of fire. However, the move was immediately defeated by Serpent; the bey sent Sagittario crashing back into the stadium, breaking off one of the claws on its spin track as a result. The second and third claws were also broken off just as instantly, Kenta's heart shattering into a multitude of pieces as he helplessly watched his precious bey fall apart with his own eyes.
"No! Sagittario!" The bey retreated from its opponent, but its rotation was slow, allowing Serpent to race after it, catching up in an instant, before pushing it back to the edge of the stadium, sending both Kiara and Yu into a shock as they watched. Luckily, it was able to remain in the stadium with the help of Libra's performance tip. Seconds later, Serpent was seen attacking Sagittario continuously, breaking off pieces of its fusion wheel, before sending it flying in the air, attacking it from below and tossing it around mercilessly, just as Reiji had done in the battle with Hyoma.
"Kenta, no!" Kiara exclaimed. Yu's eyes widened in fear and anger, before he jumped off of the wooden bench and left the room.
"Yu, where are you going?" Kiara exclaimed, running after him.
"Kenchi needs me!" he responded, rushing down the hallway to the arena to support his friend. "Don't give up!" he began once he reached the arena, Kiara trailing behind him. "Don't do it, Kenchi! Don't get swallowed up by Reiji's darkness!"
"He acts like nothing happened," Reiji scoffed in annoyance.
"You can do it, Kenchi!" Yu yelled as he ran closer to Kenta, leaning against the steps for support. "I'm rooting for you! So show everyone how cool you are! Show me and Libra!"
"You can do it, Kenta!" Kiara encouraged. "I believe in you!" Sagittario charged at Serpent, deflecting its attack and sending it flying back against the walls of the stadium.
"Impossible!" Reiji growled, tugging at his hair in frustration. "How could there be that much power left in that broken excuse for a bey?"
"It's in its spirit," Kenta responded with a burning passion. "A true bey spins with its spirit. So, as long as its spirit isn't broken, Sagittario will continue to spin!" Kenta's bey charged at Reiji's with a multitude of collisions before flinging it across the stadium. Seconds later, a roaring wind filled the arena as Reiji began using his true strength. He ordered his bey to smash Sagittario and break it apart, instilling fear for Kenta in Kiara, Yu, and the others as they watched, horrified by the turn of events.
"Sagittario," Kenta shrieked. "Sagittario!"

"For the very first matchup of the day, we have the royal, the regal, Kiara!" Blader DJ announced. "And her majestic bey, Cassiopeia! Oh yeah!" Kiara made her way to her post by the stadium, the crowd cheering wildly for her as she entered. "Her opponent is the strange shooter, Captain Capri!"
"Watch me take the queen by her crown!" Captain Capri smirked as he stood opposite Kiara; he was a short boy, possessing a bright blonde afro and sharp brown eyes, one of them covered by a unique aiming device which he was known for using in his battles.
"Here we go, bladers!" Blader DJ declared. "Alright ready!"
"Zero, six, two, three, comma, four," Captain Capri spoke whilst adjusting his compass launcher. "Correction. No. Zero, six, two, zero. And lock."
"That's fucking weird," Kiara muttered under her breath.
"3! 2! 1! Let it rip!" Both beys were launched into the stadium and Cassiopeia was instantly attacked from all angles by Storm Capricorn, Captain Capri's bey.
"What's going on?" Kiara questioned.
"With its Quake performance tip, Capricorn can jump around crazily!" Blader DJ announced. "Cassiopeia is at its mercy. It just can't keep up!" So that's his little trick, Kiara realised.
"Okay. This is gonna be fun," Captain Capri spoke. "Time to get rid of the queen in one special move! Capricorn! Spin Screwdriver!" Capricorn launched itself into the air, Kiara observing the uselessness of the Quake performance tip once the bey had ascended. Since the performance tip isn't in use, I can tell where the attack is coming from, she thought. Perfect. He set up his own trap!
"Thanks for the favour," she chuckled.
"Huh?!" Captain Capri exclaimed. "What do you mean?"
"You set up your own trap. Just look," she continued. "Since you're trying to attack me from above, your Quake performance tip is absolutely useless. It allows me to know where the attack is coming from, which is something I don't have trouble dealing with. Cassiopeia! Special move: Imperial Barrage!" Kiara's bey began speeding around the stadium before charging at Capricorn, sending it flying and landing beside Captain Capri's feet.
"And the first match goes to," Blader DJ began. "Kiara!"
"A walk in the park," the girl smirked, retrieving her bey.
"No! This can't be," the blonde blader whined. "This just can't be happening!"
Kiara made her way to the others and was met with smiles and hugs as they congratulated her. They then headed to the seating area to watch Kenta's battle with Tetsuya, which ended in a win for the young boy.
"You did it!" Kiara congratulated Kenta, giving him a high five as he returned to the seating area. "I'm so proud of you!"
The group of friends then watched the third match, which was between Teru and Ryutaro. The match ended with Ryutaro's win, which upset the group as they had been rooting for the former. Following that was the insanely intense battle between Gingka and Yu, in which Yu lost. The crowd cheered wildly for Gingka's win as he made his way back to his friends and celebrated with them. A short while after, the group of friends were back in the preparation room, waiting for Hyoma's battle to begin. Kyoya had won his first match with Benkei, and Tsubasa had defeated Reiki in the battle after that. Blader DJ announced the start of the match, allowing everyone to make their way to the seating area whilst Hyoma went to take his place beside the stadium.
"Good luck, Hyoma!" Gingka cheered from the audience.
"It's gonna be an easy win," Benkei added.
Both Hyoma and his opponent were introduced, a Dark Nebula member named Reiji, a tall, slender boy with striking red hair, a blonde streak running through his fringe, and piercing yellow eyes that narrowed into slits like that of a venomous snake, using a bey called Poison Serpent.
"He's another blader from the Dark Nebula," Gingka spoke.
"Yes, but I've never heard any name like Reiji mentioned before now," Madoka commented.
The battle began shortly afterwards, with Aries attacking Serpent, although causing no damage. When Reiji's bey finally struck at Aries, it was able to push it back, however, Hyoma used his special move Wind Storm Assault to dodge Serpent's attacks with its Eternal Defence 145 spin track. Aries then charged at Serpent in a counterattack, the crowd cheering him on. Moments later, Gingka gasped in shock.
"What's wrong?" Kiara asked. The crowd then began booing as the battle was making no progress. "What's up with this?"
"Argh, that's enough, Hyoma!" Benkei exclaimed, frustrated at the lack of a fight. "Now it's time to send this guy flying out of here!"
"He probably won't listen," Madoka spoke. "You know how Hyoma likes to battle cautiously, Benkei."
"He might surprise us," Gingka began. "Hyoma seems strange somehow. To me, it looks like he isn't sure how to defeat this opponent."
"Yes," Kyoya added. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"Keep it together, Hyoma!" Gingka yelled once he realised Hyoma was looking uneasy. "Don't let him get inside your head!"
"You can do it, Hyoma!" Kiara cheered. Hyoma then unleashed his special move, Horn Throw Destruction, but to no avail as Serpent was able to easily withstand it, defeating it in an instant.
"Woah!" Blader DJ exclaimed. "Serpent has completely stopped Aries' special move! Aries is the one that's sent flying!"
"Aries!" Hyoma cried as he watched his bey barely land back in the stadium. Aries was able to dodge Serpent's attacks once again, however, Hyoma was taken aback once Serpent began circling around his bey, restricting it completely and leaving no room for escape.
"Has Serpent's attack power increased somehow?" Gingka questioned.
"No. The power of its attacks is the same as before," Madoka informed. "Serpent hasn't gotten any stronger. Aries has actually gotten weaker!"
"How is that even possible?" Kiara asked.
"Yeah, I don't get it," Kenta began. "Up until now, Serpent's attack had no effect on Aries at all. Isn't that right?"
"It's poison," Kyoya pointed out, grasping everyone's attention. "Every time that Serpent struck, it injected some poison to slowly weaken Aries."
"That's insane," Kiara gasped, looking back at the arena. Hyoma attempted to escape Reiji's attacks using Aries' spin track but was unable to do so as Reiji began using his true strength in the battle, taking everyone by surprise. Soon afterwards, the lilac-haired blader began yelling crazily at his opponent, shocking his friends who watched him from the audience.
"This isn't the calm Hyoma we know," Madaoka spoke worriedly.
"I have never seen him act like this before," Gingka admitted. "Get a grip out there, Hyoma! It's not like you to go and lose your cool!"
Aries was suddenly flung into the air by Serpent, causing Hyoma's eyes to widen in panic as Serpent ascended into the sky to attack it endlessly.
"What is this?" Blader DJ gasped. "Aries is helpless, but Serpent continues to attack mercilessly!"
"Stop! Stop it!" Hyoma cried, tears escaping his eyes as Reiji cackled evilly. "Please, stop it now!"
"Dark move," Reiji spoke, sending everyone into a shock.
"Did I hear that right?" Kiara whimpered as she felt shivers run down her spine.

"It's time to start the award ceremony!" Blader DJ declared. "In 3rd place, Gingka, Kenta, and Tsubasa are each awarded 1,000 points! The runner-up, Kyoya, receives 3,000 points! And the winner of this tournament, who is awarded 10,000 bey points, is Kiara! Let's add those points to the one Kiara has already earned. Woah! A whopping 47,000 points! Only 3,000 left to go until Kiara is able to qualify for Battle Bladers!"
"I still can't believe I beat you," Kiara beamed, glancing over at Kyoya.
"It was only because I had my guard down for a split second," he scoffed, refusing to meet her gaze. "If not for that, I could've easily won."
"Yeah, yeah," Kiara giggled. "Whatever."
"You've almost caught up to me with your points, you know," Gingka added, causing Kiara to turn in the other direction in order to face him.
"Oh my god, I have," she spoke, her eyes wide in surprise. "Let's see which one of us will get the 50,000 first!"
"Oh, it's on!" Gingka smiled.
After the award ceremony, the group of friends went to a nearby restaurant to get some food before they all continued on their journeys to gather up the required number of points.
"Hey, Kyoya," Kiara called out, catching his attention and causing him to stop in his tracks.
"What?" he spoke, turning to face the girl.
"Can I come with you?" she asked, smiling.
"Why?"
"Cause I want to."
"You still have another 3,000 points to collect and I have another 10,000," he mentioned. "How are you going to get your points if we join the same tournaments?"
"We'll figure it out," she responded. Kyoya crossed his arms.
"Go on then," he spoke, sighing. "Explain to me how you expect us to win a total of 13,000 points while we enter the same tournaments."
"Well, I only need 3,000 points, and 3,000 points isn't that hard to get, you know," she informed him. "I'm sure there will be a tournament that will award 3,000 points for first place. I'll just join that one."
"What makes you think I won't want to join the same tournament?" Kyoya deadpanned.
"You didn't let me finish," Kiara interrupted. "You won't be joining that tournament."
"Say what?" Kyoya snarled.
"Listen, listen," she spoke. "If you had functioning ears, you would've heard me say that I would only join that one. Every other tournament that you decide to participate in, I'll watch you from the audience. How's that sound?"
"Even if I didn't like the idea, you'd still come with me, wouldn't you?" Kyoya sighed.
"I'm not Benkei," Kiara remarked. "I'm not gonna follow you around if you don't want me to."
"You have a point," Kyoya chuckled. "Fine. You can come. But if you get on my nerves, I'll leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say," Kiara laughed. The two of them continued on their journey together, attending a myriad of tournaments and supporting each other throughout. Kiara managed to gain the 3,000 points she sought after in a single tournament, just as she had planned. From then onwards, she remained in the audience, cheering Kyoya on as he won every challenge match he participated in. Another month passed before Kiara found herself back in Madoka's repair room along with Madoka herself, Benkei, Kenta, Hyoma, Hikaru, Osamu, Takashi, and Akira.
"Well, you guys really are totally amazing," Madoka spoke, a wide smile plastered on her face. "I mean, all of you earned 50,000 bey points in competition!"
"Well, I wouldn't exactly say all," Osamu sulked.
"We tried our best but we just couldn't earn enough points," Takashi added.
"What a bummer," Akira sighed.
"But it's true you guys really are amazing," Osamu commented.
"You guys are," Akira added. "And Kenta only started out with 10,000 points.
"Forget me," Kenta spoke. "Kiara only started out with 2,000!"
"Don't remind me," the girl chuckled sheepishly. A few moments passed before she spoke again. "Where's Gingka, by the way?"
"Boo!" he greeted as he walked through the door.
"Gingka!" the girl exclaimed, dashing up to the boy and engulfing him in a tight hug.
"Um, excuse me. I can't breathe," he was barely able to say. "Don't kill me now. I'm too young to die."
"Haha, sorry," Kiara chuckled, letting go of him.
"You all made it back, huh?" he began. "It's good to see you."
"So how many points have you earned anyway, huh, Gingka?" Osamu asked.
"If Kenta and the others have 50,000 points, you must have," Takashi began.
"Easily 100,000 points," Osamu finished.
"Actually, the truth is," Gingka sulked. "I haven't reached 50,000 points yet."
"Say what?" Kiara gasped. "You're joking."
"No, I'm not," Gingka spoke, presenting his bey pointer.
"Only 47,000?" Kiara exclaimed.
"What do you plan to do, Gingka?" Hikaru asked. "The challenge matches are all over now."
"Don't remind me," the redhead sulked. "I know that."
"If Gingka hadn't lost that one single match," Madoka began, grasping everyone's attention. "He would've had 50,000 points ages ago." Madoka continued to explain that he'd lost a battle to a strange masked man named Phoenix, who brutally crushed his bey pointer, making Gingka lose all of his points.
"Gingka, why didn't you tell us about that?" Kiara spoke.
"I didn't want to worry you guys," he answered. "You were already so focused in battle trying to gain those points. I didn't want to make things harder for you all."
"Gingka," Kiara murmured.
"Okay," Hikaru spoke. "But how are you going to catch up?"
"I've got it!" Kenta exclaimed. "How about you battle with us right now, Gingka?"
"With you guys?" Gingka asked.
"Yeah, he's right," Kiara added. "If we bet points in battle, we can give you all of our extra points so that you can qualify."
"Thank you, but I can't do that," Gingka spoke.
"Why not?" Kenta enquired.
"Each and every point is important and you all worked hard to earn them," Gingka replied. "It wasn't easy for anyone. A battle is always a serious thing. Battling just to help me isn't fair. Not fair at all!"
"But how are you going to win points, Gingka?" Kiara asked worriedly.
"I don't know," Gingka answered.
"Woah, I've got it!" Madoka exclaimed, everyone rushing to her side to take a look at her computer that she had been typing away at for a short while now. "All the challenge tournaments from all over the country that had to be cancelled have been rescheduled for one match today. There's one final challenge match. Gingka, you can make it in time if you leave right now!"
"How many points do you get?" Kenta asked.
"You get 3,000 points!" Madoka smiled.
"Gingka you have to go!" Kiara urged.

Kiara, along with Madoka, Hyoma, and Hikaru, had met up with Benkei and Kenta, who had brought Kyoya along with them. The group of friends made their way to the seating area, Kiara taking a seat next to Kyoya, in order to watch the first battle of the tournament: Gingka vs a dark blue-haired blader named Ryutaro. During the battle, Kiara noticed Gingka struggling and wondered why, asking the others what was going on. Kenta informed her that earlier on their walk around the stadium, they had seen Ryutaro battle someone and send their bey flying without making contact with it at all. Benkei added that the bey could also float in the air, which they all observed during the battle with Gingka. Upon investigation, Madoka concluded that it was the result of Ryutaro's bey, Thermal Pisces, changing the flow of air around it and thus avoiding being attacked by its opponent.
"So it wasn't magic after all," Benkei concluded.
"Of course it wasn't magic," Kiara remarked. "Magic doesn't exist."
"She's right. It was science, Benkei," Kyoya spoke. "It also explains why Pegasus cannot attack Pisces. It's the same as Leone. Pisces changes the air flow and creates an invisible wall of air around it."
"I get it!" Kenta exclaimed, smiling. Madoka continued to explain how Pisces was able to repel Pegasus away from it without even making contact. Their attention was suddenly grasped when they heard Gingka screeching in pain.
"Why does Gingka seem to be in so much pain?" Kiara questioned worriedly.
"Is that because of the air too?" Kenta asked.
"Yeah, probably," Hyoma spoke, everyone turning to face him. "There must be a change in air pressure."
"Air pressure?" everyone wondered.
"If you climb up somewhere really high," Hyoma continued. "Your ears ring and your head hurts. Am I right?"
"Yeah, you are," Madoka responded. "That's some powerful bey if it can control air pressure like that too." They continued to watch the battle, on the edge of their seats as they observed Gingka being pushed to his limit. Pegasus suddenly began circling around the stadium, a blue flame emitting from it as a result.
"What's happening?" Benkei shrieked.
"It's heat from friction," Madoka spoke as she analysed Pegasus' movements. "By spinning faster than should be possible, Pegasus is creating incredibly high heat!"
An insanely bright blue light emerged from the stadium, engulfing the entire arena in it, everyone's eyes wide in shock. Once the light dissipated, Pegasus was seen descending down on Pisces, with an attack from above, sending it flying out of the stadium and crashing into the walls of the arena, before falling on the floor.
"Pegasus crushes Pisces and wins the first round!" Blader DJ announced.
"He won it!" Kiara exclaimed happily.
"But, how did he win this one?" Hikaru asked, causing everyone to face her.
"Pegasus' heat and circling produced a strong updraft," Madoka answered. "That created a vacuum for a split second."
"The air was completely sucked away," Hyoma spoke. "So then there was no way to control it."
"That's amazing!" Kenta exclaimed.
"Let's go congratulate him for his win," Kiara spoke, getting up to go and meet up with him. She and the others, save Kyoya, all rushed inside.
"Oh, oh, look," Kenta grinned widely. "There he is!"
"Hey! You did it, Gingka!" Benkei congratulated.
"Hey, you guys," Gingka greeted. "I pulled off another win!"
"Yes you did!" Kiara cheered, immediately hugging the boy. "You were awesome out there!"
"Thank you," Gingka chuckled, returning the gesture.
"By creating that vacuum, you fooled your opponent and came back to win," Madoka spoke.
"Uh, what vacuum?" the redhead asked confusedly, earning a facepalm from Kiara.
"Gingka, you idiot," she muttered.
"What do you mean vacuum?" he continued to ask.
"What do you mean 'what do you mean'?" Madoka questioned. "You know, when you cut through the air with high speed spinning. That's what I mean. You didn't realise?"
"Man," Hyoma began. "You were so focused in the battle that your move accidentally produced a vacuum."
"Is that what I did?" the redhead chuckled.
"Yeah you did. Talk about being a lucky guy," Benkei commented, earning laughs from everyone. The group of friends continued to chatter amongst themselves for a short while before realising they had to return to the arena as soon as possible since Kiara, Kyoya, Benkei, and Kenta all had battles.
"Oh no," Madoka cried as they all ran towards the seating area. "We're missing Kyoya and Hikaru's battle."
"Come on," Kiara spoke. "Let's hurry up or we'll be late for ours too."
"Kiara, Kenta, Benkei," Gingka began. "Kick some bey!"
"Thanks," Kenta responded. "Let's meet in the finals!"
"You got it," Benkei added. "Take a guess at who'll win in the end. Give up? Me!" A loud thud was heard as Benkei ran into a small boy with bright orange hair and white clothes. "Sorry little guy, are you gonna be alright?"
"Ow!" the kid whined. "You threw me on my butt, Ben-Ben."
"Sorry," Benkei apologised.
"Yu?" Kenta spoke.ย So, that's Yu, Kiara thought.
"Oh," Yu began. "Kenchi and Gingka. Hey guys, how ya doin'?"
"It's Yu," Gingka uttered. "Why are you here?"
"Why do you think he's here, Gingka?" Kiara deadpanned.
"Why wouldn't I come?" Yu responded. "I'm here to battle the big guys. Right, Tsubasa?"
"Tsubasa?" Kiara murmured as she witnessed the grey-haired boy walk towards them.
"You know him?" Gingka questioned, looking at Kiara.
"Yeah, we met at a tournament a month ago. I'd like to say we're pretty good friends," Kiara answered.
"Oh, I see," Gingka smiled, his attention turning back to the Eagle user. "So, you're here too, Tsubasa. But what are you doing here with Yu then?"
"Cause he's part of the Dark Nebula too," Yu commented, pointing at the taller boy who stood beside him. Everyone's eyes widened in shock. "Well, he just showed up one day saying 'let me join, let me join'. So, no-one had a choice. Actually, I still haven't accepted him myself."
"Really?" Gingka enquired. "Is it true, Tsubasa?"
"It's like he said," the boy coldly responded. Kiara couldn't believe what she was hearing. The girl had known of the Dark Nebula organisation for a while now, and was entirely aware that they had evil intentions. They were a power hungry group of people that wanted nothing but to steal strength and energy from other bladers. Why is he a member, then? Kiara questioned internally, shuddering at the thought of a good friend like Tsubasa being a member of such an institute.
"I don't get it," she murmured. "Why would someone as amazing as you join the Dark Nebula?"

Tsubasa and Kiara made their way to a cafe near the stadium after collecting their belongings, the moon glowing iridescently above them. Once they found a cosy spot, they walked inside, ordering their drinks of preference, and sitting down beside a window, allowing themselves to relax after the intensity of the tournament.
"Your coffee, sir," a waitress spoke to Tsubasa as she placed a mug of warm coffee on the table in front of him. "And your iced tea, miss."
"Thank you," Kiara and Tsubasa smiled at her before turning their attention to their drinks.
"Why would you order an iced tea?" the boy questioned, taking a sip of his warm coffee. "It's cold outside."
"Says the one who's walking around with a sleeveless shirt," the girl remarked, causing Tsubasa to chuckle and almost spit out his drink. "I don't drink hot beverages," Kiara finally answered, earning a puzzled look from him. "They just make me feel sick. I don't know how else to explain it."
"Understandable," he spoke, returning to drinking his coffee.
"Ah," the girl began, turning to face Tsubasa. "I forgot to thank you for earlier."
"Hm?"
"When you helped me out with that battle I had outside town."
"Oh, that."
"Yeah. Thank you so much for that."
"No worries. People like that should be disqualified as bladers. It's not right to corner someone and outnumber them like that just for points."
"I agree."
The atmosphere became silent as the two resumed taking sips from their drinks, gazing out of the window at the pearly white moon above.
"So, what made you get into beyblading?" Tsubasa enquired, breaking the silence. Kiara's gaze shifted to the boy seated next to her before returning to the moon. She hesitated momentarily, which Tsubasa noticed. "It's alright if you don't want to talk about it."
"No, no," Kiara began. "I'll tell you." She paused for a short while before speaking again. "I've been searching for my brother for a long while and I was hoping I could find him through beyblade."
"I see," Tsubasa spoke, his golden eyes focused on the girl beside him.
"It's been so long and I haven't gotten a single lead, so I was hoping that maybe through Battle Bladers, I'd be able to battle him again. He's sure to have become incredibly strong by now," Kiara continued, taking out her bey pointer. "I only have 20,000 points though. That's nowhere near enough to get into the tournament."
"You'll be fine," Tsubasa placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, causing her to face him and meet his golden eyes with her own. "You still have two months left until qualifying tournaments end, so join as many as you can and aim to win so that you can find him." Tsubasa's warm smile and kind words softened Kiara's heart and increased her motivation to gather enough points to join the nationwide tournament. The boy's eyes widened in realisation as he took out his phone and searched something up. "I just remembered. There's another tournament in the neighbouring city in two days. They're awarding another 5,000 points for the winner."
"What?" Kiara gasped. "Really?"
"Yeah," Tsubasa confirmed, looking up at the girl. "If you win, your points could go up to 25,000."
"It's a perfect opportunity!" Kiara exclaimed. Seconds later, Tsubasa noticed a puzzled expression plastered on her face. "Won't you be joining too?" she asked.
"I'll sit this one out," he informed her, smiling as he took out his bey pointer and presented it to her. "I already have 39,000 points, so I'll be fine. I'll go with you and support you from the audience, okay?" Kiara was extremely grateful for Tsubasa's actions and couldn't thank him enough for giving her the opportunity to gather such a large amount of points. The two of them finished their drinks, paying for them before leaving on their journey to the next city over. After reaching the outskirts of Klegan City, Kiara heard the screech of an eagle and looked up to see the same feathered creature from earlier circling above them.
"So you do have an eagle friend," Kiara concluded. Tsubasa chuckled, confirming her assumptions. "That's the coolest thing ever, you know. I want one. Where can I get one?"
"I met this one in a forest when I was about 6 years old and when it was just a baby. It's been a long time since then. Plus, these eagles are really not easy to find," the boy commented, looking up at his eagle friend as it descended and perched on his shoulder. Kiara's eyes widened as she gasped in excitement.
"Can I touch it?" she questioned.
"Sure, go ahead," Tsubasa answered. The girl's hand slowly made its way to the eagle's head, making contact with its soft feathers as she stroked it.
"Man, I can't wait to tell Gingka about this!" she squealed. The redhead's name caught Tsubasa's attention.
"Gingka?" he questioned.
"Oh, he's my best friend. Do you know him too?" the girl asked.
"I met him at a tournament about two weeks ago," Tsubasa informed. "He seems to be a strong blader."
"Yeah, he is, for sure," Kiara commented, continuing to stroke the eagle's head. "So, who won the battle? I'm assuming you both ended up facing each other at some point."
"He did," Tsubasa admitted.
"I'm not surprised," the girl smiled. "He really is a strong blader."
"I didn't use all my strength on him, though," Tsuba remarked. Kiara's eyes widened in shock, her hand moving away from the eagle, allowing it to ascend back into the sky.
"No way," she spoke. "You're saying you could defeat Gingka if you had used all your strength?"
"I could," he answered. "But we'll never know."
The two continued on their journey, stopping in a nearby forest in order to light a fire to keep warm, and also get some rest. Soon enough, the sun had risen once again, marking the start of a new day. Both Kiara and Tsubasa woke up and continued making their way to the next city. Upon arrival, they headed straight for the stadium and signed up, a day in advance, using that extra time to practice for the tournament. Through practice, Tsubasa gave Kiara tips and tricks for techniques to use when battling, mostly advising her to use her senses, and also informing her that she needed another defensive move.
"Another one?" Kiara questioned. "Isn't Majestic Evanesce enough?"

Kiara had begun her journey around the country, searching for more tournaments to participate in, in order to gain more points. It had been almost a month since she last saw her friends, but she made sure to keep in contact with them to catch up on how they were and to congratulate them on their progress. So far, the girl had participated in a myriad of tournaments, obtaining 15,000 points, bringing her overall number of points to 17,000. She felt proud of herself for being able to gain such an incredible amount in such a short time, and was determined to collect even more in the remaining two months before the tournament.
As she walked through the city she had now arrived in, she smiled excitedly at the tall buildings that towered over her head, the sun's reflection gleaming off of the glass windows. The atmosphere was serene, the birds singing harmoniously as they fluttered their wings across the canvas of blue painted with specks of soft white. The streets were silent, as Kiara had only just entered the area, but the environment was peaceful nonetheless. However, the peace did not last for long.
"Hey!" an unknown voice called out. Kiara turned in the direction of the voice and was faced with an unfamiliar man, his black hair covering his right eye. A smirk grew on his face causing Kiara to feel uncomfortable, backing away in response to the man approaching her.
"Give us your points!" another voice demanded, its figure appearing from behind a building and taking its place next to the first man. Moments later, four more men appeared and cornered the girl, demanding her points to which she obviously refused. However, there was no escape for her as the group of men had now readied their beys, leaving Kiara with no choice but to fight back.
"Look at this punk," the first man spoke as all seven beys were launched. "She thinks she can actually take us all on by herself. How funny!" The rest of them cackled as their beys all clashed with Cassiopeia in a group attack. There's too many of them, Kiara worried internally. What do I do? I don't have a defensive move to use against them.ย Kyoya and I didn't get that far.ย I can't use Imperial Barrage right now either. Ugh!
Cassiopeia's rotation was beginning to rapidly decrease; Kiara couldn't hold off the other beys for much longer. Suddenly, a purple flash emerged, causing Kiara to shield her eyes from the intense light. Once the light had dissipated, she looked back at her bey to notice that it was the only one left rotating from the seven; the others all lay beside their owners who were now on the floor. Immediately, they got up, trembling in fear, and scurried away, leaving Kiara alone. Or so she thought. Kiara hadn't known why she didn't realise it before, but there was a single bey rotating a few metres away from her own. There wasn't much time for her to study it as it had flown into the air. Kiara's gaze tracked it to observe it being collected by its owner who stood on the rooftop of a nearby building. The girl squinted her eyes to see them better and noticed that the figure was looking straight at her: a tall man dressed in a maroon sleeveless shirt and white trousers, with long, grey hair, its length resembling her own. The two shared eye contact momentarily before he turned and walked away, disappearing from her view. Who was that? The girl wondered curiously, her attention grabbed by the screech of an eagle soaring above her only seconds later. An eagle?
Kiara reached her hand out to retrieve Cassiopeia, and once she did so, she took a final glance at the rooftop before continuing to make her way through the city. The closer she travelled towards the centre, the taller the buildings got, heightening the girl's excitement as she knew she was close to the bey stadium. She had signed up to join a tournament in that city, the reward for first place being a whopping 5,000 points, second place being 3,000, and third place being 1,000. If I win this, she thought. I can bring my points up to 22,000. That's not bad at all. Soon enough, she approached the stadium and entered its large doors, making her way to the hallway of rooms where bladers prepared before their matches. Upon finding her name situated on the wall outside room 28, Kiara made her way inside, closing the door behind her and placing her backpack on the wooden bench that was against the wall. She took a seat on one of the four chairs at a table in the centre of the room and clasped her hands together, bringing them up to her chin and resting her head on them, her elbows propped up against the table. The TV in front of her played adverts while she sat and wondered about which kinds of opponents she would have to face in battle.
"Welcome to Klegan City's challenge match for Battle Bladers!" Blader DJ declared through the screen, grasping the girl's attention. "Today, we have 16 competitors who are each fighting for a place at the top. Whoever earns first place will be rewarded with 5,000 points! Second place will be rewarded with 3,000 points! And third place will be rewarded with 1,000 points!" Blader DJ continued to outline the rules of the tournament, and then began announcing the names of the bladers who would participate whilst their pictures showed up on the screen. One of them caught Kiara's eyes. "Tsubasa!" she heard Blader DJ announce as a picture of the strange, grey-haired man she encountered earlier was displayed. Tsubasa, Kiara repeated to herself. So that's his name. Him being here means I'm going to have to battle him, and from what I've already seen, that's not going to be a walk in the park. The girl thought back to her battle with the group of strangers from earlier that day.
~ ~ ~
I don't have a defensive move to use against them. Kyoya and I didn't get that far.
~ ~ ~
She realised that she desperately needed to create a practical defensive move if she was going to have even the slightest chance at winning any battles with opponents as strong as Tsubasa, who she earlier observed took out six people with a single move. Kiara diverted her attention back to the TV screen in order to find out what time the battles began, and it was confirmed that she had two hours before any battles started. She decided to use this time to practice creating a defensive move with her bey, so she switched off the TV, grabbed her backpack, and made her way to the nearest bey park. Walking inside, she spotted a handful of bladers using the collection of bey stadiums available to practice for their battles.
"Hey, aren't you Kiara?" she heard a voice ask, turning to face them and being met with a girl of her height. "You're battling in the Klegan City challenge match today, aren't you?"
"Yes, I am," Kiara responded. "Would you like to help me practice?"
"Sure!" the girl smiled.

"A new special move?!" Gingka exclaimed, surprised but also extremely happy for the girl. "Already? That was so quick!" Kiara smiled at the boy's comment, which gained attention from everyone around them.
"What? Really?!" Kenta asked, shocked.
"That's great, Kiara!" Madoka congratulated.
"Kyoya is such a good trainer!" Benkei commented, almost crying from how proud he was of both Kyoya and Kiara.
"What did you name it?" Hyoma questioned, a wide grin plastered on his face.
"Imperial Barrage," Kiara answered.
"Imperial Barrage," Gingka repeated. "It's awesome! You gotta show me sometime!"
"Not yet, Gingka," Kiara responded.
"Huh? Why not?" he sulked, tilting his head to the side.
"I used all the energy I had on that one move and Kyoya was able to defeat me with a single hit after I used it," the girl informed.
"That's my Kyoya!" Benkei shrieked.
"He told me that if I could just learn to control it, it would be really useful," Kiara spoke.
"Looks like you're going to be spending a lot of your time with Kyoya then," Benkei sulked. "I wish I were you."
Kiara and Kyoya continued to train together for a couple of weeks after that, Kiara getting stronger each day and working on perfecting her new special move. She had noticed, the more time she spent with him, that even though he came off as cold and rude, deep down he wasn't all that bad. He was the reason she was able to break the box on the first day. He brought her food and helped her create a new special move. He agreed to train her, even though it was just to battle a new opponent. In actuality, he could've refused to train her and just found this so-called strong blader on his own, but he didn't. This guy really isn't as mean as they say, Kiara thought.
"Kiara," Benkei spoke, walking into the room and disturbing Kiara from her thoughts whilst she sat on the bed and cleaned her bey. "How did training with Kyoya go today?"
"It went great, Benkei," she responded as he took a seat beside her. "He's really not as mean as they say he is, you know."
"Of course I know," the boy responded. "I spend pretty much all my time with him and he's just the coolest guy ever!"
"He's not the kindest person on earth, but he does care about things," Kiara commented, her gaze focused on her bey as she wiped it with a cloth.
"What do you mean?" Benkei asked.
"Well, he didn't have to train me but he did. He's really good at it as well. This one time, he brought me food when I didn't even ask for it, and he helped me create my first ever special move, and he taught me a launch position that works just for me, and-"
"Kiara," Benkei spoke, cutting the girl off. "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, go ahead."
"Do you like Kyoya?"
Kiara's eyes shot up and met with Benkei's. "What?!"
"I think you like him."
"N-No, I don't," Kiara retaliated, flustered. "What made you think that?"
"You're blushing."
"What? Am not!"
"Yes, you are. Plus, just the way you talk about Kyoya would make anyone think you like him."
"What's that supposed to mean? You talk about him the same way I do!"
"But you have that sparkle in your eyes!"
"So do you! Maybe I just admire him like you do!"
"What's all this noise?!" Gingka slammed the door open, half a burger in his mouth. "Again?! Disturbing my precious time with my precious burger?!"
"Kiara likes Kyoya!" Benkei announced.
"Benkei!" Kiara glared daggers into his soul.
"Kiara..." Gingka stared wide-eyed at the girl. "You WHAT?!"
"I do not!" she retorted.
"Yes you do! I see it in your eyes!" Benkei argued.
"You make no sense, Benkei!" Kiara yelled back.
"KIARA LIKES KYOYA?!" Gingka exclaimed, still taking in the information.
"I DO NOT! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME GINGKA?!" Kiara screeched.
"ALL OF YOU! SHUT UP!" Madoka screamed at the trio. They all stared at the angry girl standing in the doorway, steam coming from her ears as she fumed. "I'm trying to work on fixing beys. It would be NICE if you could all be QUIET!"
"Sorry, Madoka," Gingka apologised, smiling sheepishly.
"This is all your fault, Benkei," Kiara blamed the boy on her right, glaring at him with a deathly stare.
"Say what?!" he turned to face her, anger present in his eyes.
"What did I JUST say?!" Madoka warned. After ensuring that the trio were quiet, she left to return to fixing beyblades. The room was dead silent, each of the three teenagers shooting death stares at each other, Gingka's half burger still in his hand, unfinished.
Kiara laid back on her bed and stared at the ceiling. Her face, she had noticed, was burning hot, so she reached up to open the window before returning to her position. She wondered if what Benkei had said was true, if she was really developing feelings for the boy who trained her. There was a possibility that Benkei was telling the truth, although Kiara thought she felt the same way about Kyoya that he did. To her, speaking highly of Kyoya was just an admiration of his strength and determination, nothing more. She was glad to have been training with someone so powerful, someone who battled as ferociously as he did. She respected his courage to forfeit from the battle with Yu and Gingka in the final match of the Survival Battle and wished she had the strength to do what he did that day; she had been told by the others that Kyoya's one and only goal was to defeat Gingka, so she could imagine how difficult it must have been to voluntarily walk away from that. I just admire him is all, the girl told herself. I don't know what Benkei's talking about.

"Relax your shoulders as well. You're too tense."
~ ~ ~
Kiara's face burned up once again as she recalled Kyoya's soft touch on her shoulders when they first trained in the warehouse. Although he made her do difficult tasks when they trained, he was always gentle with her when adjusting her stance. What am I thinking? she wondered, blushing.

The door slammed open, causing Kiara to jolt awake and look around cautiously, before placing her hand on her chest after she concluded that it was just Kyoya standing in the doorway. She diverted her attention to the clock on the wall opposite her. 7AM?!
"What's up with that, Kyoya?" she muttered tiredly, annoyance present in her voice.
"Wake up," he spoke sternly.
"It's 7am!" she yelled.
"And?" he retorted.
"Get out and let me sleep," she groaned, retreating under her covers.
"Today's your first day of training. Get your ass up or I'll leave without you," Kyoya warned before leaving, shutting the door with a loud bang in order to wake the sleepyhead. He's so annoying for no reason, she thought. I should annoy him too, sometime.
Kiara hopped out of bed to prepare herself for the day ahead of her. After getting ready, she climbed up the spiral staircase and met with Kyoya outside the mechanic shop. He began to walk in the direction that led to the marketplace, confusing the girl as he had not said a single word to her about where they were headed.
"Where are we going?" she asked, falling behind. "Kyoya? Kyoya!"
Not a word. The boy didn't answer so she had no choice but to simply follow him and go wherever he went. Although she could spot his spiky green hair from a mile away, it wasn't the easiest thing to keep up with him. Why does he walk so fast? she wondered, frustratedly. After passing through the busy marketplace, they arrived at the bridge by the river where she had told him about her ex and her brother. Why are we here?
She had paused momentarily to observe the glittering river she loved so much, taking in the tranquil environment around her, before she realised that Kyoya was nowhere to be seen.
"Ugh, where did he go?" she sighed, looking around for any sign of green hair.
"I'm right here," she heard his voice in the distance and looked to her right to see him leaning against a warehouse a few metres away from the other end of the bridge. "Stop staring at the river and hurry up." The girl turned away from the beautiful sight of the water and made her way to the boy, following him into the warehouse.
"What is this place?" she enquired. "Wait, wait, wait. Isn't this the Face Hunters' old hideout?"
"You know about that?" Kyoya asked, confused. "Ugh, Benkei," he sighed under his breath, realising how Kiara had come to find out about his embarrassing past.
"Oh yeah. He told me all about how you were supposed to be some scary gang leader but then you lost to Gingka and disbanded the gang. Haha. Pussy," the girl laughed.
"What did you call me?!" Kyoya glared daggers into Kiara's soul.
"P. U. S. S. Y. Pussy," she teased, unafraid.
"Right. I'm leaving," Kyoya spoke, turning to face the door.
"Listen, if you get to wake me up like that at 7 in the fucking morning, then I get to make fun of you for being some stupid gang leader!" she yelled at the boy who had now left the warehouse. Once she realised he wasn't coming back, she went after him. Looks like he can't take aย joke, Kiara told herself. Oof.
"Wait!" she exclaimed, grabbing his arm. He immediately retracted his arm and stared down at the girl.
"Don't touch me!" he warned, his finger pointed in her face.
"Alright, sorry," she apologised, raising her hands in defeat. "You're still gonna train me right? You're not pissed off or anything?"
"You're annoying. But I'll tolerate it just this once," he sighed, lowering his hand. This is a waste of my time, he thought. "Come," he instructed, walking back into the warehouse. "And don't try any funny business with me or I'll leave for real."
"Fine," she sulked, following him.
"Get your bey out," he ordered. Kiara took her bey out from her bey holder and attached it to her launcher. "You see that box?" he gestured to a large, brown wooden box that was placed in the centre of the large space. "Break it."
Kiara nodded, launching Cassiopeia. How hard can this be?ย she wondered. "Go now!" The bey made contact with the box, ramming itself against it but causing no damage before falling to the floor.
"Weak," Kyoya scoffed. Kiara glared at him. "Try again."
Cassiopeia was launched a second time, making contact with the box but still causing no damage. Kiara groaned, picking up her bey and attempting to break the box a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth time.
"Took me one attempt to do this," Kyoya uttered, his arms crossed as he leant against another box.
"You're joking," Kiara commented, looking in his direction. "There's no way that you managed to break it on your first try."
"Oh, believe me. I did." No I didn't, of course I didn't, Kyoya told himself. She's an idiot. But I'm sure this'll work.
Kiara groaned again in annoyance.
"I'm gonna go," the boy informed her, making his way out.
"Huh? Where are you going? Kyoya?"
"Don't get your undies in a twist. I'll be in one of the other warehouses."
Kyoya left Kiara on her own with the box. Well, if he can do it, then so can I, she thought. Kiara tried at the same task over and over again but made no progress. Okay, this is much harder than I thought. Upon closer inspection of the box, she noticed a small scratch. It might be small, but it's still a scratch.
The next few hours were, of course, spent trying to break the one wooden box. Kiara gave up trying as she now thought it was impossible to break it. Ugh, how come he was able to do it? That's not fair! She slumped on the floor in defeat and played around with her new bey, inspecting each and every nook and cranny until she got bored. She then lay on the floor and began singing songs in order to keep herself entertained while she waited for Kyoya to return.
Kyoya had left the area to get food once he became hungry. He himself had also been training in another warehouse, doing much more than breaking a single wooden box, which to him was a walk in the park. Once he made his way back, he paused by the river which shimmered in the pearly white light of the moon. Whilst he was enjoying the calm of the night, he heard the sound of a girl singing, her angelic voice echoing off of the walls in the warehouse, amplifying its beauty. Who is that? he wondered. Upon approaching the warehouse that Kiara was in, he heard the voice louder and clearer. That can't possibly be her singing, right? Kyoya stood outside the entrance of the warehouse, hiding himself so that he could listen to the rest of the song. Wow, she's got an amazing voice, I gotta give her that, he thought to himself. She seems to be done doing the thing I asked her to do. Let me check. He waited until she had stopped singing to walk in. Much to his dismay, the box remained standing just how it had been when he left.
"You still haven't managed to break it yet?" Kyoya deadpanned as he walked in, noticing Kiara lying on the floor like a child. I guess my plan of telling her I was successful on my first try didn't work, he thought.
"Stop scaring me!" Kiara yelled back, her hand placed on her chest as she had been startled by the boy's sudden appearance.
"Who's the pussy now, huh?" Kyoya mocked, earning a glare from the girl. "So you haven't broken the box. Disappointing."
"At least I scratched it!" she retorted, sitting up and pointing at the box.
"Ooo, a scratch? Let me see," Kyoya spoke mockingly as he walked towards the box to find the smallest scratch possible. "You call this a scratch?"
"Look, at least it's something," the girl huffed, crossing her arms. Kyoya picked up her bey from the floor and walked back towards her. "Get up."
"Help me up," Kiara muttered as she raised her arms in the air towards the boy. He simply looked at her with an eyebrow raised and arms crossed. "Argh, you're so useless," she whined, helping herself up. He placed the bey in her hand before walking to stand behind her, watching her as she repeatedly launched her bey at the box but still making no progress.
"Am I doing something wrong?" she asked, turning to face him.
