Bikini waxing at home – yes, it’s possible!
Tumblr media
Though you normally trust a professional aesthetician to wax your bikini line, you can do it in the privacy of your home with cold wax strips.
Body hair is a source of constant annoyance for most women. While some women deal with the problem by wearing full-sleeved and long clothing, others choose to tackle the issue head-on. But hair removal is a constant process – you can certainly remove the hair, but it always comes back!
Tumblr media
The most problematic hair removal zones in the body are the bikini zone and the back. The bikini area hair is curly and coarse, and it locks in sweat and other fluids. Cleaning the area can also become an issue with hair present in it. But many women are unsure about how to remove the hair in the bikini line, so they often depend on their salon to wax the bikini area for them.
The process is painful till you get used to it, but the results are fantastic. The bad news is that you are often too busy to schedule regular bikini wax appointments. But the good news is that you can bikini wax by yourself in the privacy of your home. Once you do it by yourself, you will never depend on your aesthetician to do it for you.
How to wax the bikini area with cold wax strips
Tumblr media
·         You will need a box of cold wax strips, scrub to exfoliate the skin beforehand, and wax wipes (which will often come with the box). Also keep a pot of moisturizing cream for post-wax use.
·         Exfoliate the skin to be waxed one night before you use the wax strips. Do not use excessive force while scrubbing. The point of exfoliation is to remove dead skin cells and make the hair softer for removal.
·         Pop a painkiller one hour before waxing the bikini area. This is important so that you don’t feel too much discomfort or pain while the waxing is on. You can even use an ice pack on the area about five minutes before waxing to numb it completely. Make sure to dry the skin thoroughly before you begin.
·         Apply the wax strip, wax side downward, on the bikini area. Make sure the strip is firmly applied, then pull it off quickly away from the direction of hair growth.
·         Repeat waxing the bikini area till the hair is removed. Clean the excess wax using the wipes provided with the box.
·         Wash with water and apply moisturizer to soothe the redness on the skin. Wear loose clothing that does not cling to the waxed region.
That’s it – waxing the bikini area is so simple with cold wax strips. With a little practice, you can even use hot wax for clearing the hair in the bikini zone.

5 Foods For Excellent Tresses
Tumblr media
Having long, thick, silky and healthy hair is on every woman’s wish-list. Along with taking proper care, a healthy diet is equally important to have adorable hair. Many natural ingredients offer their nutritional goodness and act as hair loss solutions to give you that enviable hair.
1.      Protein-rich food
Hair is all protein. Thus, your diet should include sufficient protein that takes care of healthy and strong hair. Protein deficiency can lead to dull, brittle and weak hair. Chicken, fish, turkey, eggs and dairy product along with vegetarian sources such as nuts and legumes are excellent sources of protein. Egg yolk along with liver, whole grains, yeast and soy flour also contain biotin without which your hair might be brittle and weak resulting in hair fall.
2.      Green leafy vegetables
Hair roots and follicles need nourishment from the rich blood supply. Iron deficiency inhibits the adequate transportation of oxygen and nutrients to the hair roots and follicles preventing hair growth that lead to weak hair strands. On the other hand, green leafy vegetables like spinach are iron-rich foods that take care of nutritional nourishment of your hair, making them strong and healthy.
3.      Citrus fruits
Citrus fruits such as lime, lemon and oranges contain Vitamin C which is required not only for iron absorption but also for the collagen production. Collagen strengthens the capillaries connecting the hair shafts, facilitating the regular supply of nutrients. One lime per day satisfies your daily need for Vitamin C and can boost hair growth.
4.      Carrots
Vitamin A is critical for the growth of every body cell. As hair contains the fastest growing body tissue, the importance of Vitamin A is paramount to the growth of our hair. Also, Vitamin A helps the sebum production on the scalp. Sebum is the natural oily substance created by our sebaceous glands that act as a natural conditioner for a healthy scalp. Orange and yellow vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes and animal products are full of beta-carotene that is used to make Vitamin A in our body facilitating healthy roots and hair.
5.      Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Our body cannot produce Omega 3 fatty acids. These are the essential fats that our body need and are found in the scalp lining. Besides this, Omega 3s are necessary to keep our hair and scalp hydrated. Due to our body’s inability to produce these, we need to be solely dependent on our diet for their acquisition. Oily fishes such as salmon, trout, sardines, mackerel and herring and vegetarian sources like walnuts, pumpkin seeds and avocado are the best sources that can supply us with these precious ingredients.
Apart from your diet, you have to take good care of your hair such as
·         Protect your hair from excessive heat, sun pollution and dirt.
·         Do not brush wet hair.
·         Always oil and massage the scalp 30 minutes before the head bath.
·         Do not use hot water to wash your hair.
·         Use a gentle shampoo and a quality conditioner every time you wash your hair.
·         Preferably air-dry your hair. Do not over-apply heat on your hair as it may steal the necessary moisture.
Having good hair is not rocket science! You can also have enviable tresses by following the hair loss solutions in the form of food habits and tips mentioned above.

3 Things You Should Start Doing NOW For Glowing Skin
Tumblr media
We present three essential things to do to get picture-perfect, radiant skin that stands the test of time.
Your skin is the mirror to your health. A radiant visage is indicative of youth, good health and inner peace. In contrast, acne-ridden, dull skin indicates a lack of skin hygiene and poor skin health. We all wish to have smooth, ageless skin.
Follow these 3 essential skin care tips for a youthful, radiant complexion:
1 Cleanse, tone, moisturise. There is no substitute for a daily cleansing, toning and moisturising routine. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t take too long, either. You should do it twice a day for the best effects. After you wake up, start by washing the face with clean water and patting dry. Next, use a mild cleanser and go over the face and neck without rubbing the cotton pad too hard. Once cleansed, apply toner on the skin and pat it into the skin to stimulate blood circulation. After five minutes, apply moisturiser to lock in hydration in the skin and keep the tissues plump and healthy.
2 Wear sunscreen every day. Harsh sunlight is the biggest enemy of your skin. The UV rays in the sunlight penetrate deep within the skin to alter its composition. Prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight can cause tanning, reddish patches, fine lines, age spots, dryness and dullness. The skin’s aging process is rapidly accelerated by the sunlight. So slather sufficient quantities of a dermatologist-recommended sunscreen lotion every time you step out of the house. Replenish it every three hours, and take care to limit sunlight exposure till afternoon.
3 Eat, sleep, exercise, repeat. Your skin reflects your overall state of health. Stressed, oily and dull skin hints at an erratic lifestyle with insufficient sleep, lack of exercise and lack of a healthy diet. The skin is quick to reflect underlying conditions, so any changes in it should be noted at once. Generally, the skin starts aging from the 20s onward, so it is best to follow a healthy lifestyle comprising daily exercise, at least seven hours of sleep at night, and a nutritious diet comprising all the major food groups. Skin that receives the right nourishment and whose toxins are removed via exercise, is better able to repair and restore itself.
But despite using all the best skin care tips in the world, your skin might experience violent pimple breakouts, discoloured patches, oiliness and wrinkles, etc. If you notice a sudden appearance of any of these problems, it is best to seek your doctor’s help. Like we mentioned earlier, the skin is a good barometer of underlying medical conditions, so any new problem should be checked right away.

A Simple Winter Skin Care Routine
Tumblr media
We present a simple five-step skin care routine for the winter.
The harsh winter months are upon us, and all you feel like doing is curling up inside your blanket with a hot cup of cocoa and a comedy film to watch on TV. But you are also secretly worried about the state of your skin – it feels stretched and dry in the winter, and you wonder if it will ever be the same again. Help it along with simple skin care tips that we outline below.
1: Washing the skin
Do: Wash your skin at least twice a day.
Don’t: Use hot water
Washing the skin removes surface impurities and lets the skin breathe, as opposed to becoming clogged and full of pimples. However, with the weather turning cold, you might be tempted to use warm or hot water on your skin. This is an important skin care tip: Hot water is to be avoided at all costs. You can use lukewarm water instead, or if you can bear to, then cold water is best.
2: Moisturising the skin
Do: Use a dermatologist-recommended moisturiser every day.
Don’t: Use heavy winter creams.
The skin needs extra nourishment and care during the harsh winter months. Its natural moisture and essential oils can get depleted quite quickly, leaving it dry and prone to lines. Moisturising daily becomes doubly important in the winter season, so that your skin’s hydration levels are maintained and dryness is kept at bay.
3: Exfoliate the skin.
Do: Use a mild exfoliant with micro-granules.
Don’t: Rub excessively.
You might be tempted to skip exfoliation in the winter months, but the dry weather makes the skin shed dead cells and the skin is still secreting sebum. It is important to remove the top layer of dead skin cells and dried oil and dirt to reveal fresh skin underneath. Exfoliation also stimulates blood circulation in the skin.
4: Use homemade masks.
Do: Prepare masks of fresh fruit or vegetables.
Don’t: Store a mask for more than a day.
DIY masks made out of skin-friendly ingredients like tomato, papaya, cucumber, carrot, honey, lemon juice and aloe vera are a godsend in the cold winter months. They replenish lost moisture, remove tan, help in skin cell renewal, and improve skin tone. Enhance the efficacy of the face pack with hydrating substances like olive oil, rose water and cool milk.
5: Drink plenty of water.
Do: Drink plain water, fresh fruit juice and warm milk.
Don’t: Drink excess coffee or tea.
A hot drink on a cold winter night is the ultimate pleasure indeed. But if you tank up on too much caffeinated drinks (like tea and coffee) the skin begins to dry out soon. Indeed, any hot drink has the potential to cause dryness. Instead, have a cup of warm cocoa, and drink a lot of water in the winter months (even if it makes you take many trips to the bathroom!) Water keeps the skin supple and hydrated.

How to cope in a new place of residence
Tumblr media
Shifting to a new home is joyful and daunting at the same time. We start you off with a basic plan to cope with the change.
Finding a bigger, better home for yourself and your loved ones has given you unparalleled joy. After the formalities are over, you are now packed and ready to move homes. At your new place, you are surrounded by a sea of boxes and packing material, and your children are cranky from the mess. The amount of work that needs to be done can overwhelm you!
Take a deep breath, and come up with a game plan to cope. Here’s what you can do:
* Control your stress. Beginning life in a new place brings many challenges and frustrations in the initial days. Your stress levels will go through the roof as you try to shift your belongings, make room in the new house, stock up on groceries and try to bring order to the chaos. However, too much stress can upset your digestion and cause your skin to break out in acne. It helps to remember that whatever challenges you are facing right now are temporary. Things will ease themselves out over time, so stressing over them is not helpful at all.
* Have important telephone numbers. When you move to a new locality, you have to find the important people and places that you might need. These include the pharmacy, hospital, grocery stores, malls, schools, offices, etc. Make a list of all the important telephone numbers for the area, and tape the list in a place where all family members can immediately see it. Having such a list will help you in daily life, especially when you need to set appointments or order meals or groceries.
* Find good doctors nearby. One of the most important tasks for you is to find the nearest hospital, skin and hair care clinic, etc. You will soon realise the importance of having a good dermatologist in Abu Dhabi on call, as you battle stress-related acne, greasy skin and dull hair. Set up an appointment when you are relatively free and get a skin and hair consultation from a reputed dermatologist in Abu Dhabi.
* Find the nearest parks and gaming areas. Your children will need space to run around and enjoy themselves after school. Find the nearest park close to your home, as also indoor activity areas for children. There are several avenues for children’s entertainment in Abu Dhabi. Also look for weekend picnic spots that the entire family can enjoy.
Your stay in your new house will be full of wonder and joy in the days to come – it’s all about healthy coping at the present time, to enjoy the future days!

How to prep sensitive skin for hair removal
Do you dread waxing or depilating with a cream, owing to your sensitive skin? We explain how to prep for the job.
Hair removal is an indispensable part of most women’s lives. There is no alternative to hair removal, because body hair narrows down your clothing choices. But if you have sensitive skin, you are justifiably nervous about hair removal. Your skin rebels at everything, and you would rather go without hair removal than bear its side effects.
But prepping correctly can make even sensitive skin hair removal quite bearable. This is what you do:
* Moisturise every day. Sensitive skin is often delicate and more prone to pain and redness after hair removal. The skin’s composition is such that many products cannot be used lest they cause rashes. The best way to care for sensitive skin is to moisturise it every day using a mild moisturising milk. Drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices also fortifies the skin.
* Be mindful of irritants. Sensitive skin is more susceptible to irritation than other skin types. While certain chemicals cause an acne flare up, other products cause itching and redness. You have to be really careful with depilatory creams or waxes for sensitive skin hair removal. It is always better to pick products like Veet hair removal cream for sensitive skin, or the Veet wax strips for sensitive skin. Conduct a patch test 24 hours before using any products for sensitive skin hair removal. Or show the products to your dermatologist just to make sure before using them.
* Exfoliate gently. The thumb rule of dealing with sensitive skin is to be gentle at all times. No rubbing briskly, no harsh products, and certainly no rough exfoliation. it is important to exfoliate prior to hair removal, but only with a mild exfoliator. Exfoliate at least three hours before waxing or using a hair removal cream, so that any irritation may subside by the time you start hair removal.
* Choose products that are suitable for sensitive skin. There are many hair removal products in the market, but most are completely unsuitable for sensitive skin. Depilatory creams, especially, must be carefully chosen since the product sits on the skin for at least three to five minutes before removal. Choose the sensitive skin variant from Veet, whether you are waxing or using a hair removal cream. The products are designed to provide soothing relief to sensitive skin, and they moisturise the skin while they work. So there is less redness and irritation afterward.
* Keep away from numbing creams and after-wax soothing products. Though it is better to use a numbing cream prior to waxing, those with sensitive skin should not do so. The cream is likely to cause irritation and ruin your waxing. Similarly, stay away from after-wax soothing creams. Instead, wash the skin using cool water and apply an ice cube till the tingling sensation disappears. Now apply moisturiser to lock in moisture.

After you clean the blister and apply some cream, take a needle and dip it some alcohol to drain the blister from the sides. Make sure, you don’t do anything on top, because that can cause viral infection and lead the blister to grow.
5.       Relax the blister
It is really important that you let your blister soft down in a salty solution. You must also do this before you have to drain out the blister. A complete guide to ultimate skin care
Tumblr media
Presenting the definitive guide to skin care that prevents acne and staves off signs of aging.
Every woman dreams about having glowing, ageless skin. But while some women seem to be genetically blessed with great skin, others must battle aging, acne, oiliness, dullness and myriad other problems. But having great skin is not a tough task, if you follow a set routine daily.
Following this skin care guide every day will give you the radiant skin you’ve always wished for:
* Have a daily skin care ritual. Your skin needs to be taken care of every day. Fortunately, you don’t need an elaborate routine that eats into your time. Start the day by cleansing, toning and moisturising the skin. Use mild products recommended by your dermatologist for the best results. Older women may have age spots and fine lines on their skin. They can use dermatologist recommended anti-aging serums, astringent and hydrating creams. Do wipe off all makeup before going to bed, so that you prevent acne from occurring.
* Use the right products. On the subject of face creams and serums, it is important to note that the wrong products can accelerate the onset of skin problems. If you are unsure about which skin care and beauty products to try, ask your dermatologist for recommendations. They are aware of your skin profile and can recommend the most suitable products for your skin’s health and age. Get the right cleanser, serums and makeup for your skin type.
* Drink plenty of water. The role of water in skin care is quite underrated. Water regulates the skin’s temperature, expels toxins from the body via the skin (as sweat) and also helps in proper digestion. It replenishes moisture lost to air conditioning and hot sunlight. Drinking plenty of water every day keeps the skin hydrated and supple, so that it is better able to repair itself.
* Eat raw fruit and vegetables. The country’s hot temperatures can strip away your skin’s moisture. Apart from drinking water, you should eat raw fruit and vegetables to nourish the skin. Fruits and vegetables provide essential nutrients, anti-oxidants, minerals and protein to build the skin’s cellular structure and keep it supple. Cell repair and restoration is aided by a good diet that includes all the important nutrients your skin needs. You can also have fruit smoothies, unsweetened vegetable juice, unsweetened toned milk, and salads drizzled with olive oil for a good metabolism.
* Protect your skin every day. Aging is a constant process and it creeps up on you when you least expect it. Your skin needs to be protected from the onset of premature aging. Apart from using moisturiser every day, be sure to apply sunscreen before heading out of the door. Sunscreen must be replenished every four hours to ensure continued protection. Choose a sunscreen lotion with SPF 30 or higher for the best protection.
We hope this guide gives you supple skin that radiates with good health. This simple routine can give you the skin you’ve always wanted.

The DIY guide to using wax strips at home
Worried about hurting yourself and making a mess? Waxing at home is really easy – just get Veet wax strips.
Every woman wants glowing, smooth skin. But hair on the arms, legs, underarms and face can mar your appearance. You need to invest time and money in frequent salon appointments to get the hair waxed off. It is a chore you can do without – now you can, with cold wax strips.
Have you tried waxing your skin in the comfort of your home? Just grab a box of Veet cold wax strips to get started.
* Exfoliate. You get the best waxing results if your skin is clean and clear of dead skin cells and oil. You can get clean skin by exfoliating it a day before the wax. Use exfoliating gloves, or a loofah with mild body soap. After exfoliation, the skin’s pores open and the hair is pulled out better. The wax adheres to the hair more than the skin.
* Numb the skin for pain relief. There’s no getting around it – waxing does hurt a little. Some women have greater sensitivity to the pain than others. If you are squeamish about how much it might hurt, especially in the delicate bikini or underarm area, try numbing the skin first. Run an ice cube over the area till it is numb, then dry the skin before applying the wax strip. Or use a numbing cream 30 minutes before you begin. Or better still, take a painkiller half an hour prior to waxing. You can proceed with more confidence if it’s going to hurt less!
* Apply the wax strip. Once your skin is prepped and numbed, it is time to apply the wax strip. Take off the protective plastic cover and apply the strip firmly on the skin. Veet wax strips have a convenient pull away tab – grasp the tab firmly, and pull away the strip in one smooth motion, against the direction of hair. The hair comes away at once. If there are any stray hairs left behind, reapply the same strip on the spot and pull. You can use one strip at least thrice, before taking a fresh one.
* Clean off any wax residues. The cold wax strips box comes with cleaning wipes as well. The wipes remove any remaining wax stuck on the skin. You can then wash the waxed skin with cool water and pat dry. It is normal for the skin to tingle and appear reddish for a while.
* Moisturise. After five minutes of washing and drying your skin, apply generous amounts of moisturiser on the skin. Though cold wax strips contain moisturising ingredients that do not strip the skin’s moisture and natural oils, you can never hydrate your skin enough. This is a good precaution for those with dry skin.
That’s it – it is so simple to use wax strips at home and get salon-like results. Cold wax strips save you several trips to the salon, and give you smooth, glowing skin that you will love to flaunt.

6 tips to avoid cracked heels
Tumblr media
Having cracked heels is a common problem. Cracks are an unpleasant sight. At the same time, they can be extremely painful. Adults as well as children are prone to it. Women are more affected by heel-cracks than men.
Causes
Various factors contribute to cracked heels.
·         Lack of using moisturizer on your feet – This is the primary reason for cracked heels. Skin around our heel is having relatively low sweat glands. Thus, if your skin type is dry, heels are more prone to cracking due to lack of moisture.
·         Dry and harsh weather – Lack of humidity in the surroundings can dry our skin further.
·         Harsh soap – Harsh soaps steal the moisture from our skin.
·         Using shoes with open backs or thin soles or walking barefoot – Open back footwear lacks adequate support for your heel letting it expand sideways. Thus, can cause heel cracks.
·         Taking long and hot showers and baths – Hot water snatches away the precious moisture from your skin.
·         Standing for a long duration on hard floor – This stresses the skin under our foot leading to cracks in the heels.
·         Vitamins / minerals / zinc deficiency, malnutrition – Deficiency of vitamins, minerals and zinc severely affects the health of you heels.
·         Thyroid or estrogen imbalance , some medical conditions
·         Increased weight – This puts added pressure on your heel pad which tends to develop cracks.
·         Genetics – Having a dry skin naturally can be a cause for cracks in the heels.
What can you do to get those silky heels?
There are some home-remedies that work great to heal the cracked heels and make them smooth –
·         Use cotton socks with shoes – Cotton socks are breathable. They soak up the sweat and reduces rubbing. At the same time, they prevent your feet from getting dry. Never use socks made from synthetic material as they might cause irritation and increase skin-dryness.
·         Use appropriate footwear – Backless shoes don’t provide proper support to your heel. So are the flip-flops. Avoid using such type of footwear for prolonged period. Also wear season specific footwear which will protect your feet from extreme weather.
·         Moisturize your feet daily –Apply moisturizer after washing your feet and thoroughly drying them. You can do this before bedtime.
·         Wash your feet – Wash your feet twice a day with warm water and mild or antiseptic soap. Towel dry your feet thoroughly especially between the toes.
·         Exfoliate your feet – Scrub your feet and heels twice a week. This will remove the dead skin and keep your feet soft.
·         Massage your feet daily – Massage improves blood circulation to your feet. It will not only relax you mentally, but also will keep your heels in great health. Using warm olive or coconut oil will further moisturize the heels.
Having soft and smooth heels is always on a wish-list of every female. Taking small steps regularly can easily help to fulfill this wish in reality.

Smelly feet – causes and prevention
Tumblr media
Bromodosis – often referred to as ‘smelly feet’ is caused by sweat on our feet. Bacteria break down our sweat that comes out of the pores. It leads to the bad odor.
Reasons of sweaty feet
·         Hormonal changes - teenagers and pregnant women sweat a lot.
·         Wearing same shoes repetitively - The shoes soak the sweat. If you wear them before they get dry, feet will start smelling.
·         Poor personal hygiene
·         Stress causes more sweating.
·         Hyperhydrosis - a medical condition that causes more sweating.
Prevention
·         Let the shoes dry before wearing them again. Keep two pairs of shoes and use each pair, alternately.
·         Wash your feet with warm water and soap and dry them thoroughly - especially between the toes. Keep your toe nails clean and trimmed. Use pumice stone or exfoliating scrub to get rid of the dead skin on your feet. After drying, dab between your toes with cotton ball dipped in surgical spirit.
·         In case of Athlete's foot, use an antifungal cream available in pharmacy.
·         Use clean fresh cotton or wool socks as they are breathable. Never use nylon socks. Use no-show socks with dress shoe. Try foot fresh socks which are specially medicated with chemicals to prevent bacterial growth. Use sports socks that have ventilations.
·         Turn your socks inside out while washing which will clean the dead skin and moisture from the inner side.
·         You can use deodorant or antiperspirant which is specially designed for foot.
·         There are detachable medicated insoles available which have deodorizing effect.
·         During summer, go for open wear sandals. Prefer staying barefoot at home. Wear canvas or leather shoes.
·         Antibacterial foot scrub can be used to treat sweating feet. You can use this if you do not have broken skin or eczema.
·         When you are not wearing your shoes, you can sprinkle baking soda into them which neutralizes the sweat pH value, thereby controls the growth of bacteria. Rubbing antibacterial and antifungal cream on your foot can also help. You can spray antibacterial deodorizing spray into your shoes. Washing the soles and rubbing inner side of your shoes with alcohol will reduce the smell.
·         Try using antifungal and antibacterial soaps available in the market.
Home remedies
·         Apply hand sanitizer after washing your feet with soap and water.
·         Before going to bed, soak your feet in epsom salt and warm water for 30 minutes.
·         Wash your feet with 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 6 cups of warm water for 15 minutes.
·         Dip 5 black teabags in boiling water for some time. Mix this water with 4 cups of lukewarm water. Soak your feet for 20 minutes.
·         Rub your feet with lime before going to bed.
·         Wipe your feet with 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide - in 1 cup of water
Bromodosis is a very common condition and can be treated very easily with good hygiene and simple care. However, if the home remedies fail to give satisfactory results, one can always consult a doctor.

Take on board these 5 tips on how to look younger:
* Daily care is the starting point. Nothing nurtured, nothing gained. Remember this adage every time you wonder how you can look like a younger version of your current self. Youthful good looks are the result of daily care and nourishment. Your skin begins to age when it does not receive as much moisture and cleansing as it should. So the starting point on your journey towards younger skin is daily cleansing and moisturising. Cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin every morning to lock in hydration and restore the skin’s pH balance. Use sunscreen every day to stave off sun damage.
* Exercise to look younger. Studies show that those who exercise regularly have firmer, younger skin than their peers. This has to do with increased oxygenation in the blood and the removal of toxins through sweat. Try a sport if the gym is too taxing. Or go swimming, cycling or dancing – anything that works the muscles and joints and pumps your heart and lungs, is great. Your skin will thank you by looking much younger than before.
* Eat well and drink a lot of water. Your outer beauty has a lot to do with what goes inside your body. If you ply your body with junk food, fizzy drinks and fried, sweet treats, then your skin will become dull, aged and spotty. It loses its moisture and becomes prone to acne and oiliness. Instead, nourish your skin with leafy vegetables and fresh fruit. These supply essential vitamins and minerals to repair and restore your skin. Aim to drink at least one litre of water every day, and see how clear and firm your skin becomes.
* Sleep off the stress. Stress, overwork and pollution all combine to play havoc on your skin. It soon begins to appear dull, mottled and pigmented. Fine lines and wrinkles also begin to appear, making you look much older than you are. Aim to sleep for at least seven hours every night, so that your skin can combat the stresses of the day and heal itself. Sleep lets your night beauty products work better, and also helps the skin remove dead skin cells and build new ones. You wake up looking fresher and younger!

Bikini line hair removal: Depilation or waxing?
Tumblr media
Whether you opt for hair removal creams or waxing in your bikini zone depends on many factors – let’s examine the pros and cons of each.
The bikini zone often becomes rife with hair, and it is time to make it smooth and fuzz free. But which method of hair removal should you use – epilation or waxing? Let’s find out.
Depilatory creams
Not every depilatory cream is effective on the bikini line. Most work on the hands and legs, but not on coarse bikini area hair. However, the best brands have bikini line depilatory creams that are easy to use and which offer the most painless hair removal method. You simply apply the cream on the bikini line and wait a few minutes. Then wipe away the cream – the hair dissolves just below the surface of the skin, so it is easy to remove by this time – and rinse with water.
The pros: Not only are bikini line depilatory creams easy to use and completely painless, they are a quick hair removal option too. Plus, you can use depilatory creams for last minute touch-ups, to remove stubborn hair that did not come off earlier. Also, the hair regrowth is finer than before, with hair that has rounded ends. So you do not have a rough stubble, which happens with shaving.
The cons: Though bikini line depilatory creams are so convenient and easy to use, they are not ideal for long term hair removal. The hair regrows in about four to five days, so you need to keep using the cream to keep your bikini line completely hair-free.
Waxing
Waxing offers a good alternative to those women who want completely smooth bikini zones. By the very nature of the process, waxing offers exfoliation and hydration, but only when you use the best brand of wax. The wax grips the hair and pulls it out from the root. Wax is available in both warm and cold types, and you can even use it at home.
The pros: Waxing removes the hair from the root, so the hair takes longer to regrow. The hair follicle must build itself all over again, which takes about four weeks. This means that you get hair-free skin for up to four weeks after waxing. This is great for those who want long term hair removal, such as women who are going on a long holiday. Waxing can be done on any part of the body, including the bikini line.
The cons: Waxing causes some amount of discomfort, and those with sensitive skin can suffer more redness and soreness post-waxing (but there are sensitive skin waxes available). Waxing the bikini line causes some pain, since the skin is delicate. Brazilian and Hollywood waxes can hurt a lot, too. Also, not every woman is able to wax the bikini line properly, so a visit to the salon may be required.

Have that long, luscious hair you always wanted
Tumblr media
Is your hair drying out and falling all over the place? Don’t panic – there are ways to reclaim that glorious mane you’ve always sported.
Your hair is (literally) your crowning glory. A glossy mane of hair instantly catches the eye. Long, lustrous locks of hair tumbling over your shoulders…it’s a wonderful sight indeed. But how many of us are able to sport such enviable hair? Most of us struggle to maintain our hair, as we try to come to terms with hair loss, thinning, greying and also breakage.
Why does your hair get damaged?
Hair damage may occur due to a variety of factors. It often begins with dryness, which leads to brittle and easily breakable hair. Or it could be due to premature aging. In some people, the hair roots become weaker and cannot anchor themselves to the scalp tightly enough. This leads to hair fall and breakage even when you run a comb through it.
The problem may be minor in some cases – a healthy diet comprising good fats and proteins can often correct hair fall in the early stages. But when Alopecia sets in early, it is time to undergo a professional hair loss treatment under the supervision of an expert dermatologist.
The best hair loss treatments ever
Today, there are three excellent hair loss treatments that several satisfied men and women swear by. They are:
Mesotherapy: This is a hair loss treatment that works deep within the mesodermal layer of the scalp. This is the layer of the scalp where the hair roots are present. In the treatment, nutrients are injected deep into the mesodermis to aid better root anchorage and growth of thicker, stronger hair. The dermatologist may even decide to injected DHT blockers if the hair fall is caused by hormonal disturbances.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: The PRP Therapy seeks to rejuvenate tired hair roots and follicles. It uses the user’s own blood, or rather the platelets in it, and takes the platelets to be injected into specific areas of the scalp so that cell repair and regeneration can take place faster. When the hair cells are repaired faster, hair regrowth is quicker. The hair also grows back stronger and thicker than before. This hair loss treatment also shows applications in reducing premature greying.
Carboxy Therapy: This is a therapy in which the hair follicles are stimulated to grow better. When they receive more oxygen, increased blood supply and beneficial nutrients, the hair follicles can grow faster and better than before.
Always entrust your scalp and hair care to an expert dermatologist who can recommend the right course of hair loss treatment for your specific hair issues.

How to prevent blisters with simple tips
Tumblr media
Blisters are fluid filled pockets which are formed on the skin surface area anywhere in the body. But blisters, especially on the feet, can cause discomfort and pain.
What are the causes of blisters?
Blisters on the feet are as a result of walking, running or standing on the feet for long durations. Also, blisters can be formed by ill-fitting shoes, excessive sweating, sweat clogging, sunburn or allergic reactions.
How do you prevent blisters?
Blister prevention is possible if you follow some basic tips which may go a long way in not only preventing the possibilities of a blister eruption but also to reduce discomfort when traversing long distances by foot.
1.        Do not walk bare foot on hot grounds or sands.
2.        Wear well-fitting shoes. Do not wear small sized shoes which increase friction.
3.        Never wear shoes without socks. And wear socks made of sweat absorbent material. Avoid using nylon socks. Nylon makes your feet to sweat more.
4.        When you need to walk or run more, try wearing double socks. The outer layer will act as an additional sweat absorbent layer in the case of excessive sweating.
5.        Blister patches can be applied at places where friction is more. This reduces the chances of developing blisters.
6.        Cushioning pads and insoles are available which reduces friction and gives comfort to the feet. Cushions between the toes are also available, but they easily wander out of their places, and this causes discomfort when running.
7.        Orthoses or orthotics which are shoe inserts and ortho supports help in the prevention of blisters. Seek medical support to get the right shoe inserts for the soles of your feet.
8.        There are other commonly and popularly used methods like astringents, powders, antiperspirants, and lubricants aimed at removing the initial tension to the feet. But the disadvantage with these types of applications is that all offers short-term effects and are not reliable for a longer duration.
9.        One more widely used and prevalent technique is to apply dressings or tapes. But caution should be exercised because the bandage can come off easily if not tied properly and training with this should be done beforehand to avoid last minute hassles.
10.    The most important point to be remembered is that you need to make your body and feet ready to take up the challenge by exercising and running continuously before the final race. If you all of a sudden put continuous friction on your feet without preparing it, then blisters are bound to happen.
Treatment of blisters:
When blisters are on your feet they usually pop-up and treatment line is for the unroofed blister. There are blister adhesives available which don't stick on the blister. But they keep the blisters safe by providing padding when wearing shoes.
Even when you have unroofed blisters, do use the adhesives so that the chances of infection are minimized. Apply an antiseptic and dress your blister. When there is pus formation, pain or swelling visit your podiatrist immediately.
Blister prevention is anytime better than suffering its consequences. So prevent blisters and stay safe.
