a few years ago i stopped at a liquor store after an evening shift (so probably like 10:30 at night) and a man outside asked if i'd give him a ride so he could get to his girlfriend. i said no, of course, because first why would he ask me, an early-20s woman (at the time), and not any of the men (or even GROUPS of men) who were coming in and out of the liquor store, and second, i found it suspicious that he specifically mentioned his girlfriend, like he was trying to get my guard down.

Ladies it's a good day to remember that the majority of the time when a man actually needs help, he will ask another man!

If a strange man approaches you and asks for you to help him with something, you need to ask yourself why he is asking you.

This is how Ted Bundy would get his victims. He was counting on women being too polite to decline helping. He would pretend to have a broken arm or leg and ask women for help to do a task. When they were isolated he was able to knock them out or otherwise abduct them and murder them.

Declining to help a stranger for your own safety does not make you a 'bitch'. It keeps you safe.
