I love Halloween

Okay so now that we’re just about a few hours away from september aka the doorstep to halloween, Michaels stores all around are stocking up their usual halloween decorations. Among these decorations I found these.

And the doll owner in me went “oh FUCK yes.”

So of course I bought two sets and brought them home with me. And I immediately began my experiments. 

First of all, these are like … sticker things to stick to scrapbooks and stuff. So they have this sticky pad behind them.

But they are easy to remove. And so I did, and I got the back which is like any normal Doll’s eye

Aw ye.

Now it came time to remove the iris from the eye. I know people use a variety of ways, but what I like to do is take a pin and kinda gently stick it to the iris’ side, which would hopefully be at least a little exposed.

Yay! We did it!

So now that that was out of the way, now came the hardest part – clearing the iris of the old colours. I am still looking for ways to perfect this technique – I used a nail buffering set myself, using a very gentle nail file and a buffer to make it clear.

There are still some scratches, but not as many when I would use something like magic sand paper. Magic eraser also works! 

So now comes the fun part – DECORATIONS!

I am sorry for the messy job in the blue, but I was in a hurry to post my results. I am very satisfied with what I can do with these eyes.

Overall if your Michaels stores have these eyes in stock and you like to make interesting eyes please indulge yourself. I think they were part of scrap-booking or something like that??

Do you remember pink Indian Royal set commission for a Minifee I did recently? Here is her cyan twin. I was asked to make a pants instead of a puffy skirt, so I did a bit of research and found this amazing design that is called “tulip salwar”. The pants have a very interesting cut. The set also includes choli blouse, dupatta with a wide fall part and slippers with curved toes and is accompanied with a lot of jewelry.

So in recent news, it’s seems like the recast situation just got 100x worse….

I saw on @puffypuffers insta with screen caps from a Dollfie Dream FB group that Luo, one of the top recasters in China, is now in the process of filing for trademark of various BJD companies to own their trademark.

Which means that those companies he’s filing for to “own” were to sell in China, from Taobao to even doll shows, they could face legal actions and could never sell in China again. The list of companies that have been effected and having pending trademark is already extensive, companies that aren’t even in China such as Dollshe, Fairyland, Iplehouse, Soom, Lily at, Marina Byockova, Peaks Woods, DOLK, Bambicrony, Cocoriang, and so much more, he’s also even added trademarks in the US for. Luo has every intention of chasing out the “competition” of the companies themselves so he can sell freely with no repercussions.

With him doing this, he’s literally eliminating the companies that he recast from, so will probably be a point where you no longer be able buy originally cast of those companies doll, but you’re only be able to buy cheap resin copies because those companies will eventually shut down due to losing a part of the market they sell to

I don’t know how else more to say that the recast situation just gone past ignoring now, because this gone from bad to beyond worse.

Alrighty, so I’ve had Heather (my feeple60 Celine on a supiadoll body) for about a month and a half. All she’s missing are shoes, but she’s otherwise complete and I love her.

Why does the secondhand market seem to go through these phases where I can’t find anything I’m looking for in a reasonable price for any reason

So...um...massive update?

I kinda disregarded all my wishlisting oops. I impulse bought a Feeple60 Celine head off the DoA marketplace today and put in an order for a neck adapter and a Supiadoll body. I also bought some cute accessories and necessities for her.

Idk what her name will be, but fingers crossed I bond with this one!
