If you wonder where I've been: a ramble

I've been thinking about berry sims and simblr a lot, lately. It's been years since I was regularly posting and I miss it. I don't think I'll ever really leave simblr because there's so much here I still want to see. But I've been having a lot of fun playing without posting in mind and without the restraints of picking things based on color palettes.

While I'd like to get back to berry sims (whether I post or not), my computer is truly reaching the end of her lifespan and I'm running out of space for new CC. I don't have anything even approaching enough for a new PC and set up. So, unfortunately, TS4 berries will not be in the near future. I've been considering popping into TS3 to fulfill my berry needs, but the EA app is truly testing me. I regularly open it and it says TS3 has been removed from my library. Then I have to contact support all over again.

The Sims series is without a doubt one of the most exhausting games to be a fan of. It's glitchy and buggy and broken in a thousand ways. Sometimes I spend a whole day figuring out what went wrong, and at the end of it, I don't even want to play anymore. I think that's part of why I've been spending all my time playing without posting. At the end of all that, I don't want to add more work to what should be a fun hobby.

Another reason is that I can tell stories in my head and not worry if they make sense to anyone else! I can go back and retcon things I did and didn't like. I don't have to justify story choices; if I want it, it happens. I miss sharing my sims with y'all, don't get me wrong. But I think I was just getting burnt out on storytelling, and that's something I never want to happen again.

I've taken a lot of time to play "offline" and to get into other games, too. I never posted about it here, but I got very into ACNH. In fact, I've played for over 2,700 hours and even got a tattoo of Lucky! I've decorated and torn down and redecorated my town into different themes over and over again. I also got into Stardew Valley which has taken up a lot of my time over the past few years. There were other games and hobbies I worked on and which took my time that The Sims just fell to the wayside.

However, over the past few months, I've been playing saves a little differently than my usual. My current ones are a "slow living" legacy (set to long lifespan instead of normal), a perfect sim LEPacy, an occult legacy, and the start of a Differences in the Family Tree challenge. I still take all the photos I always have, still make up all the stories. I think of simblr often when I play. Even after being inactive so long, I still find myself thinking of getting the right shot or the wording of dialogue.

I don't think I'll ever leave simblr, because there's too much of me still here. I just won't be as present as I was, and I think that's okay. It's time to stop beating myself up about it.

TL;DR: I'll probably never be a regular poster again, but I'll be here lurking just the same.

Jenny has been dating Paul for a few weeks now and is absolutely in love with him. Lyla and Pascal have to sit and listen to her ask him out on dates while they hang out in her bedroom.

She met him at the local pool ,and volunteered to teach him how to be human and how to speak simlish fluently. In this story, his human disguise works, but it’s very uncanny.

The image of the ghost haunted Ophelia for weeks. Something about that one really got to her. Her shriek had seemed particularly tormented…but that was two years ago, and the nightmares ceased eventually. Against her will, Ophelia got used to the spectral jump scares and zombified corpses that seemed to spring up in her backyard like weeds that just didn't know how to die.

Build a School ~ The School is on a budget so some teachers share roles, but you can add an extra challenge to yourself and make a teacher for each individual subject if you prefer.

Teachers: - Principal - Art/Drama Teacher - Math/Science Teacher - English/Foreign Language Teacher - Gym Teacher - Teacher's Aid - School Nurse Bonus: Tell me the teacher drama. Which teachers are secretly dating or who hates their neighboring teacher next door?

Show off your sim through their school years!

Student Photos: - First Day of Kindy (Toddler) - First Day of Primary (Child) - First Day of Secondary (Teen) Bonus: Show us their last days and how it changed from the beginning of the year to the end.

Focusing more on the High School/Secondary Stages of school, show off which students would fill certain roles!

Student Positions: - Cheerleading Captain - Sports (of your choice) Captain - Chess Captain - Theater Kid - Prom Court - Valedictorian

BONUS: Put your sims up for public download and I may just use them in the school I am building for my NSB save! And so others can use them to build their own schools too!

Since The Horse Ranch pack is out today I am begging non-indigenous people to do research and proper representation of native people. You do not want to be that person who unintentionally creates a native sim that is based off stereotypes. PLEASE DO PROPER RESEARCH ON NAMES ETC.

This pack obviously focuses more on native Americans so do proper research on native people of America, but this also applies if you intend on making any other native person.

Okay, TS3 and TS4 are finally working again!

Good news: I think I know how to keep my original issue from happening again.

Bad news: I lost all my TS3 CC and maybe some saves as well. I was also planning on completely starting over on my TS4 berry CAS CC, so that's all gone, too.

TL;DR

Everything is working, but it may be a while before I can start posting again.
